Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation NABRE 21 So the Lord God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 The Lord God then built the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman. When he brought her to the man, 23 the man said: "This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; This one shall be called 'woman,' for out of man this one has been taken." 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body. 25 The man and his wife were both naked, yet they felt no shame. ESV 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. Reflection on Scripture: The final stage of creation that God did was to create Man then Woman. Eve was the final act of creation. In our modern society we have totally lost the unity this was meant to entail. With a fallen perspective man and women are in competition for power, influence, and dominance. This was not what we were created to be. We were meant to be united as husband and wife as one flesh. Adam said bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This is the biblical basis for man and woman cleaving to each other and becoming one flesh. I invite you to ponder what your perspective is on this? Do you embrace the perspective of the world? Do you feel that all men or women have certain characteristics that are the source of relationship conflicts? The truth is that both men and women are fallen. Many people have had such poor exposure to marriage, either parents or personally, Dont allow the fallen world destroy your perspective of what marriage should be. Regardless of the experience you have had so far with the marriage relationships or not, know this, the world is seeking to destroy faithful families greater than any single thing. Challenge any notions that would favor one gender above the other. Yield your understanding of sexual ethics, gender ethics, and goodness overall, yeild them all to God. Trust in Him to direct you toward what God wants for you. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Milwaukee, Wisconsin episode I've been traveling solo since 1972. Today's Mistake- Staying in a destination too long because leaving feels like failure Travel Advice: Organize your apps FAQ: "What's my plan if I get sick, injured, or suddenly can't continue my trip alone?" You talk confidence and preparation, but many women want a realistic breakdown of escalation: minor illness vs. hospital vs. trip-ending events, and who steps in when independence temporarily fails. Answer: As a solo senior traveler, confidence doesn't mean pretending nothing will go wrong. It means knowing exactly what you'll do if it does. Before every trip, I decide three things: where I would go for medical care, how I would get there, and who would help me make decisions if I wasn't at my best. I carry travel medical insurance, keep my medications and health information accessible, and I don't hesitate to slow the trip or stop it if my body tells me to. Independence includes knowing when to accept help—and planning for it before you need it. Today's destination: Milwaukee, WI Milwaukee is 92 miles from Chicago and is a place I visited while I lived in the Midwest. I've been planning this episode for years and love my Wisconsin friends. Some fond memories include Summerfest in July for seeing great music, like Elvin Bishop, and watching Brewers baseball, with the mascot Bernie Brewer sliding when they hit a home run or win a game. Take a stroll to the East Side and see the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Go to a sports event if you can. I'm a fan of college basketball, so take in a game for me. You should check out the college scene, with at least a dozen higher education institutions here. There are about 70,000 college students here, the largest in Wisconsin, and the 6th largest in the US and Canada, with a high number of college students per capita. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colleges_and_universities_of_Milwaukee The Third Ward of Milwaukee is buzzing these days. It's a historic area with boutique shops, art galleries, restaurants, and a public market. For a rainy day, you may check out one of the museums, like the Art Museum, known for its "Wings" of the Quadracci Pavilion, or the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibits. There's also a Harley-Davidson Museum and a Pabst Mansion. If you want to see more beer artifacts, visit the Lakefront Brewery and consider a tour. On the Lakefront, you will find Discovery World, another museum with science, tech, and maritime exhibits. I enjoy walking the Lake Michigan Shoreline. You can find a bench and relax while people-watching. The riverwalk features public art and a bronze statue of The Fonz. If you travel in the winter, you will be chilled. Bone-chilling winds can be felt on Lake Michigan, so dress for that. In summer, it's a delight, but be aware of the changing weather conditions at all times. Stick to the main tourist attractions and don't wander far away. Be cautious if alone at night. Guided tours may be a good idea if you want company as a solo traveler. Don't Miss Food Scene: Try local specialties like cheese curds, bratwurst, and craft beers. Milwaukee Public Market: A foodie haven with a variety of vendors. Jazz in the Park: If visiting during the summer, Cathedral Square Park offers free outdoor concerts. Tips for Solo Travelers Stay in centrally located accommodations, such as the Downtown or the Historic Third Ward, for easy access to attractions. Join a guided tour for a fun way to explore with others (walking, brewery, or riverboat tours). The mistake is prioritizing the plan over personal well-being. I stayed too long in the heat of Palm Springs in the summer. That was too hot, so I suggest finding a cooler spot in the middle of summer. Luxury home design is no longer defined by finishes and floor plans alone. High-end homeowners are asking their homes to support performance and wellness. Brad Robinson, president of Bradford Custom Homes, joins Host Carol Morgan on the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to discuss the evolving landscape of luxury home design and the trends shaping today's high-end market. Redefining Luxury: Wellness-Driven Design Robinson said, “The way I see luxury evolving is how your home makes you feel, how it helps you perform, how your home creates a sense of rejuvenation and prepares you to go back into the world and perform at your peak.” Many of Bradford's clients are high performers in their professional lives and have already optimized other aspects of their day-to-day routines. As a result, these homeowners are now asking more from their built environments. To meet those expectations, Bradford Custom Homes developed the Bradford Elemental System, a wellness-driven design framework that focuses on three foundational components: air, water and light. Each element is intentionally integrated into the design and construction process to improve comfort, health and overall performance within the home. Unlike traditional construction models, Bradford does not simply execute a completed set of plans. Instead, the company takes a leadership role early in the process, ensuring wellness goals are carried through every phase of design and construction. “We serve as expert representatives for owners and connect them through the correct architecture or the architects, the designers, the interior designers and the right engineers that know how to bring these systems together,” said Robinson. “We serve as that central conduit to help ensure that vision is really aligned and brought to life.” By prioritizing wellness at the systems level—not just through surface-level amenities—Bradford is redefining what luxury living means in today's custom home market. Luxury Home Design Trends Robinson highlights several design trends taking shape in the luxury home market: Sustainability: Homebuyers want more sustainable products incorporated into their homes that don't off-gas or affect the indoor air quality. Traditional design returns: Out-of-town buyers are choosing natural materials and “tried and true” design elements alongside more contemporary styles. Durability in the kitchen: Quartz and porcelain countertops are in style, thanks to their durability and hygiene. While these surfaces may not offer the same heat resistance as some materials, they provide a higher level of cleanliness. Homeowners are also looking for NSF-rated and 100% nonporous options for an added level of sanitation. Wellness-driven primary suites: From circadian lighting to enhanced ventilation, Robinson notes that his clients are choosing design elements that encourage recovery and recharge. Smart Home Integration Smart home technology continues to shape luxury living, but power resiliency is becoming a growing concern in Atlanta. To address this, Bradford installs EcoFlow systems and natural gas backup generators, ensuring critical systems like energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) and water filtration remain operational. “There are some amazing and cool features when it comes to pressing a button,” said Robinson. “But what happens when we have rolling brownouts? The AI data centers are going to get preference for power before the residents will.” Multigenerational Living & Flexibility Post-COVID-19 lifestyles have fueled demand for multigenerational living and aging-in-place designs. As families share space, there is a need for private living areas, whether as a main-level bedroom suite or accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Many families are also adding expansive outdoor spaces designed for communal and individual use, including pools, outdoor fitness spaces and even saunas. “People are making those meaningful investments in their home so they want to stay there,” said Robinson. “The average homeowner spends 18 hours a day in their house.” 2026: Year of Innovation Robinson said, “I’ve been working very hard and behind the scenes, I’ve created a private equity fund that’s going to give us the ability to dip our toes into some of the ultra-high-net-worth markets and some of those communities that we’ve aspired to build in.” Bradford has a new project set to appear in Atlanta Style & Design Magazine in March, which will showcase wellness-focused design, integrated technology and high-performance materials. The project utilizes insulated concrete forms (ICF) and HydroBlok wall assemblies to create fully waterproof, mold-resistant envelopes while maintaining high-performance interiors. Despite the mountains of books and articles published on World War I, there has been surprisingly little systematic or comparative research on how military commanders and politicians framed and interpreted the conflict—or, indeed, on how they understood war itself—and how that understanding shaped their decision-making. Wars are fought by organizations and people who have disparate visions of the world they live in and the conflict they are fighting. In Framing the First World War: How Divergent Views Shaped a Global Conflict (UP of Kansas, 2025), a team of leading scholars explore the gulf between imagined warfare and the realities of battle. By doing so, they investigate how the military forces that contested the First World War framed the conflict they were involved in and how those perspectives shaped and influenced the ways in which they sought to understand, conduct, and respond to the war. Guided by editors Dr. Michael P.M. Finch, Dr. Aimée Fox and Dr. David G. Morgan-Owen, the authors use the notion of “frames” and the concept of “framing” to enable us to engage directly with the complexity and diversity of the conflict, which was fought for different reasons and in different ways, incorporating a range of issues with implications for the conduct of the war. Improving our appreciation of how commanders saw the world around them and their views on the war they were conducting opens up valuable new approaches for understanding debates over the higher direction of the conflict and the civil-military relations that underpinned them. Anxiety grows when we lose control and forget the context of our life. We lose context; we forget we're in a universe. In fact, a friend of mine was telling me yesterday that he had kind of a trans-rational experience once on a dark-moon night when he was standing on the seashore. There was no light pollution whatsoever. He turned off his car lights and stepped out onto the beach. The stars were so pronounced that he felt himself separate from his body and felt the power of the universe. Of course, we're in a universe which is practically inexplicable, and there are various powers and forces that are working on us all the time. But we can forget that. In various contexts, we may just think, "I am a worker bee," "I'm a little cat," or "I'm a dog," and we care about our territory on the block. In human life, we can also develop such limited perspectives, and then we get anxious about it. But when we widen our perspective and think about who we are in the context of the greater universe, we can come to a sort of equanimity through which anxiety reduces. Equanimity lets you care without being shaken.
