890 I Spend My Life in God's Service, A Guided Christian Meditation on 2 Corinthians 12:14-16 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. You can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tense or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable doing so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 12:14-16 KJV 14 Now I am ready to come to you this third time. And I will not be a burden, for I want not what is yours, but you. Children ought not to save for their parents, but parents for their children. 15 I will most gladly spend and be utterly spent for your sakes. If I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16 But granted that I myself did not burden you, yet I was crafty and got the better of you by deceit. 14 Look, for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you, because I do not want your possessions, but you. For children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. 15 Now I will most gladly spend and be spent for your lives! If I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16 But be that as it may, I have not burdened you. Yet because I was a crafty person, I took you in by deceit! Reflection on Scripture: I was counseling with a person one time and they felt devalued by their spouse and they were talking about prioritizing themselves more. I have heard this repeated often. In that moment, I felt an internal conflict, or perhaps better said I felt the weight of the balance that Paul presents in these previous verses regarding his equality with other apostles. On the one hand he is no less valuable, and on the other, he is equally a fallen person. So one side is that we need to learn to not hate ourselves because that is a lie from the enemy, yet the solution to that is not to focus more on ourselves that is an influence from our unhealthy culture. Jesus taught us to love and serve others. He also told us to love others as ourselves. Other people are no more important but no less important than you are. I don't think in general the world has a shortage of people thinking about themselves. Learning to focus more on ourselves is often not the way to resolve these feelings. If we are willing to serve God would that also not be serving God's children. I think the solution to feeling devalued is to truly understand the value God places in us and now that we feel His love, that we look to Jesus for what he wants us to do with this stronger feeling of value and love. As two examples, consider a situation in which both people in a marriage feel as though they are not being focused on and loved enough. It is possible for both people to feel devalued at the same time. The solution to this problem would not be for both partners to focus on themselves more, but to learn how to receive unconditional love from God. Once fed by the love of God we can help to more clearly connect with another person and appropriately negotiate with our spouse on how to feel more loved from them. This is a profound oversimplification but consider it a metaphor. Another example is for people who struggle with social anxiety, if we transition to helping other people feel at ease in social settings it can actually lower our anxiety more than trying to put ourselves at ease. Again both of these are oversimplifications but they are examples. So take Pauls statement here about how he remains dedicated to the Church and try and discern how God wants you to balance your dedication? Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Final Question: If you consider the invitation and command to persevere in the faith, what change in your life does that bring to your mind? Waking Up at 3am — Anxiety Relief to Get You Back to Sleep | Extended Exhale Breathing Waking up at 3am with anxiety is one of the loneliest experiences there is — your eyes open on their own, your heart is faster than it should be for someone lying perfectly still, and your mind has already found the one unfinished thought it saved up especially for now. This 10-minute guided meditation is built for exactly that hour. Martin explains why it happens: there is a small, ordinary rise in cortisol in the early hours meant to get your body ready for morning, and when you're anxious that rise arrives a little louder and wakes you. It isn't a warning. It isn't a sign. It's chemistry arriving early. From there the session uses extended exhale breathing — a gentle breath in, a brief pause, and an out-breath always longer than the in — because breathing out directly, mechanically slows your heart rate. It's the simplest somatic tool there is, and the one that works best lying down in the dark, when you don't want to count hard or hold anything. A warm light at the centre of the chest, gentle affirmations for sleep anxiety and insomnia relief, and three practical caring tips follow. If you drift off partway through, that's the point — let the voice fade. Hosted by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett. ⏱️ Time Chapters * 00:00 – Cold open: awake at three in the morning* 00:39 – Why you wake: the early-hours cortisol rise* 01:23 – Welcome to Calming Anxiety with Martin* 01:39 – Anchored: the nightlight and offline sleep sessions* 02:24 – Settling: letting the pillow take the weight* 03:36 – Extended exhale breathing: the science* 04:17 – Guided rounds: longer out than in* 05:37 – A warm light at the centre of your chest* 06:08 – Tonight's gentle affirmations* 08:19 – Drifting off, or coming gently back* 09:01 – Your three daily caring tips* 09:43 – Closing thoughts and sign-off
Henry Sokolski, executive director of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center, discusses the unpublicized nuclear cooperative agreement between the United States and Saudi Arabia. He warns host John Batchelor that keeping side agreements secret from the American public prevents Congressional oversight. Saudi Arabia refuses to sign the additional protocol for inspections, claiming it violates sovereignty. Sokolski also highlights Poland's conflicting stances on hosting nuclear weapons, Germany's interest in funding the United Kingdom's Trident submarine program, and how Russia uses precision-guided munitions to target civilians and demoralize Ukraine, moving nuclear weapons further into the background, concluding that this is the new reality. Anxiety Relief for Irritability & Overwhelm — I Just Need to Feel Calm Again | Alternate Nostril Breathing Guided Meditation Anxiety relief for those days when everything is getting under your skin. This ten minute guided meditation is for the moment you catch yourself thinking "I just need to feel calm again" — when the noise, the questions, the one more thing have worn your patience thin, your shoulders are tight, your jaw is clenched, and your voice is sharper than you meant it to be. Underneath irritation there is almost always something quieter. You're tired. You're overloaded. You've been holding too much together. Today we use alternate nostril breathing — nadi shodhana, the balancing breath — breathing in for four and out for six, giving your mind one gentle thing to do at a time while your nervous system finds its way back down. Slow, rhythmic breathwork for stress relief, overwhelm and an overstimulated nervous system. Hosted by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett, Calming Anxiety is a daily ten minute guided meditation for anxiety relief, panic attacks, stress and sleep. KNOWING YOUR NUMBERS: HOW METRICS CAN STRENGTHEN CREATIVITYWhat if numbers aren't the enemy of creativity—but one of its greatest allies? In this special YOUR WORLD OF CREATIVITY roundtable, host Mark Stinson sits down with Alisa Sparks, Andrea Carter, and Rei Vardi to explore why creative people need to become more comfortable with numbers—not just financial numbers, but also data, activity, customer behavior, performance, relationships, belonging, and impact.Together, the panelists discuss how meaningful metrics can guide better decisions, sharpen intuition, reveal hidden opportunities, strengthen customer experiences, and help creative ideas grow.MEET THE PANELISTSAlisa Sparks grew Linden Creek from a garage startup into a nationally recognized home staging franchise. With a background in finance, she uses numbers to guide creative decisions, optimize client ROI, and help franchise owners build sustainable businesses. linden-creek.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/alisasparkslc/Andrea Carter is an organizational scientist and researcher whose work measures belonging, trust, culture, and human performance. Her research challenges leaders to look beyond averages and uncover the hidden stories within the data. www.belongingfirst.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreadcarter/ (https://theconversation.com/the-price-of-belonging-is-inconvenience-are-we-still-willing-to-pay-it-270778) https://substack.com/@andreadcarter https://www.adler.edu/faculty-engagement/faculty-directory/carter-andrea-d/Rei Vardi is the founder of EON Rides, an electric car-sharing and rental platform connecting underutilized vehicles with drivers through a frictionless digital experience. He focuses heavily on customer retention as a key measure of whether the experience truly works. eonrides.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/reivardi/EPISODE HIGHLIGHTSIs Creativity Constrained by Numbers—or Guided?Rei suggests that numbers don't limit creativity—they define the problem. Data might reveal that customer retention is falling, outreach is too low, or a process isn't working. Creativity comes into play when we ask: How do we solve it?Alisa agrees. Her background in finance became a competitive advantage in the creative world of home staging because she learned to start with the numbers and then ask: How do we create? How do we solve? How do we build? What Should Creative People Actually Measure? The answer depends on what you're trying to improve:Alisa tracks activity, especially how many new relationships and meaningful connections are being developed each week.Rei watches customer retention because repeat business is one of the clearest signs that people genuinely value the experience.Andrea looks beneath averages to uncover gaps in belonging, participation, engagement, and performance. As Andrea explains: "The average score is the story that the leaders want. The distribution is the story employees and customers are living."The Courage to Look at the NumbersNumbers don't always tell us what we want to hear. A campaign may underperform. A hire may not work out. A business model may need to change. An idea may not gain traction. But avoiding the numbers doesn't change reality.Andrea encourages creative people to look directly at the metric they've been avoiding and treat it not as a verdict, but as the beginning of a conversation. Alisa adds that intuition can be useful as a hypothesis—but it still needs to be tested.Scaling Creativity with MetricsMeasurement can help a creative idea travel. Andrea's research on belonging began with 3,508 participants in the mining industry and eventually expanded across manufacturing, healthcare, finance, government, and nonprofits, impacting more than 150,000 employees. Her perspective: "Unmeasured creativity is something that keeps us small. Measured creativity is what becomes repeatable by others."Metrics can turn a creative insight into a system, methodology, or infrastructure that others can use.The "Human" Numbers Behind Relationships and CommunityNot every meaningful number appears on a financial dashboard. Andrea challenges listeners to observe their next meeting, dinner party, or gathering and count:Who speaks?Who gets interrupted?Who receives credit?Who gets remembered?Who hasn't spoken at all?Her insight is simple but powerful: "Counting makes you notice, which makes you kinder."Alisa shares a similar lesson from her first home staging project. The home sold for $30,000 over asking, which initially looked like a great business case study. But when the homeowner explained what that additional money would mean for his family, the number became something more. The numbers may show us how we're making an impact. People remind us why the impact matters.KEY TAKEAWAYSNumbers can provide a frame for creativity rather than restrict it.The most useful metrics aren't always revenue or profit. Activity, retention, participation, belonging, customer behavior, and impact can be equally important.Intuition is valuable, but it becomes stronger when informed by experience and tested against evidence.Averages can hide important differences. Sometimes the real story lives underneath the headline number.Measurement helps creative ideas become repeatable, scalable, and transferable.Sometimes the number you've been avoiding is the one that has the most to teach you.BUILD YOUR NUMBERS MUSCLE THIS WEEKRei Vardi: Start tracking something. Whatever you're trying to improve, write down where you are now and begin measuring progress.Alisa Sparks: Measure activity before results. Instead of focusing only on whether you made the sale, count how many calls you made, relationships you developed, or actions you completed.Andrea Carter: Look at what you've been avoiding. Choose one number and review it every week at the same time. Don't judge it—study it. Look at the best moment, the worst moment, and what happened in between.FINAL THOUGHTKnowing your numbers doesn't mean becoming an accountant or a data geek. It means becoming a better creative leader. The right numbers can help us understand our customers, test our intuition, strengthen our organizations, build better relationships, scale our ideas, and measure the impact we're truly making.Numbers aren't the enemy of creativity. They may be one of its greatest allies.Connect with Alisa Sparks, Andrea Carter, and Rei Vardi to learn more about their work. And if you enjoyed this roundtable, subscribe, follow, rate, and review YOUR WORLD OF CREATIVITY on your favorite podcast platform. Every review helps more creative leaders discover these conversations.Stay tuned for more discussions inspired by the principles explored in Mark Stinson's book, UNLOCK YOUR WORLD OF CREATIVITY.Until next time, keep asking better questions, keep learning, keep measuring what matters — and together, let's keep unlocking ... your world of creativity.

Simple Succession episode 3 is here, a podcast series focused on helping churches navigate leadership transitions well. This week, Rusty George welcomes Dave Stone and Kyle Idleman to discuss the widely noticed successions at Southeast Christian Church from Bob Russell to Dave and then Dave to Kyle. Dave shares how Bob gradually increased his preaching, publicly affirmed him (including sitting front-row when Dave preached), and announced him as successor seven years in advance before handing off earlier than expected to avoid becoming a lame duck. Dave and Kyle explain how Kyle was first identified as a gifted young preacher, gained experience planting a church, then returned to join the teaching team without early public promises of succession, building trust through loyalty and inclusion in leadership. They discuss generational dynamics, managing change, resisting insecurity and “head games,” practical communication, benefits of timing and early wins, and what they're doing now, including Dave's Pastor to Pastor podcast and Kyle's book The Missing Messiah.

888 My Grace Is Sufficient, A Guided Christian Meditation on 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. ESV 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Reflection on Scripture: Today I gave an invocation prayer for an event for an organization that supports military service members. The person who runs it has done some really amazing things for the servicemembers I have worked with in the past so I was glad to support. The main speaker was a man who served in Vietnam in many incredibly brutal situations. He had led his men in combat and now was telling some of these stories for the first time ever. He was a powerful speaker but it was clear he was working through challenging memories. He was very determined but each person, regardless of their strength, struggles with things. Most of the time we have no decision or input on what thing it is that will challenge us most. This man harnessed that fear of telling his story resulting in a profoundly moving speech. Paul was not immune to having struggles and even one that he felt extremely vexed by. Paul had amazing visions and gifts from God, and yet he struggled in ways that had him imploring God for help. And yet God did not give it in the way that Paul asked for. Without even knowing yoru situation I can guess that you have things that at times feel heavy for you to bear. Perhaps that is rare or incredibly frequent. If you are being honest though you have troubles. This is the message from God. Use that weakness to draw you closer to God and accept that all things can work together for the good of those who love God.There can be strength in that weakness. It reminds us of our need for God. God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. WE are shown the Mercy of God most when we need it. We may be a way off from what Many times we see only struggle and we dont see the good it does in us. Embrace the truth Paul teaches. WE can rejoice in the perfection of God. Just because you don't get to choose your struggle doesn't mean you have no choice in how to work through it. The resounding solution to that question is found in this scripture. Trust God. Lean on His strength and He will make you stronger than you could imagine Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. In honor of National Be an Angel Day on August 22, Nichole shares a special guided angelic invocation and energy integration designed to help you connect with God, Universe, Source and five archangels — Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, and Metatron. National Be an Angel Day is a reminder to bring more kindness, compassion, generosity, and service into the world — to be an angel in someone else's life. It is also an opportunity to honor the angels themselves and become more aware of the loving support that surrounds us at all times. The angels and archangels have been an important part of Nichole's spiritual journey for many years. She wrote extensively about them in her award-winning book, Looking for Angels, and continues to explore their individual energies, roles, and ways of supporting us through The Angelic Academy. This guided experience was originally created as part of Nichole's Reiki training and has been adapted so anyone can participate. No previous experience with Reiki, meditation, energy work, or connecting with angels is needed. During this experience, you will be guided to connect with: Archangel Michael — protection, strength, clearing, and sacred boundaries. Archangel Gabriel — clarity, communication, truth, and receiving guidance. Archangel Raphael — healing, restoration, compassion, and balance. Archangel Uriel — grounding, wisdom, illumination, and integration. Archangel Metatron — energetic alignment, sacred activation, and higher consciousness. The experience also invites you to deepen your awareness of Oneness — your connection with God, Universe, Source, the angels, higher self, and All That Is. Please listen somewhere you can safely relax. Do not participate while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that requires your full attention. And in honor of National Be an Angel Day, consider carrying the experience forward through an act of kindness, compassion, generosity, or service for someone else. To learn more about Nichole's experiences with angels, explore her book, Looking for Angels. You can also go deeper into working with the archangels through The Angelic Academy. To schedule a 1:1 session or explore all of Nichole's offerings, head HERE. If you feel called to become certified in energy healing or go deeper into your healing work, there is one remaining in-person Energy Healing Retreat & Certification experience in 2026: October 16–18. The CPG Guys are joined in this episode by Anita Watkins, CEO of the Insights Association which empowers more than 30,000 data and insights professionals. Its collective voice fuels growth, strengthens advocacy, and advances careers. Guided by ethics and truth, we bring understanding to an uncertain world.Follow Anita on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anita-watkins-8b33224Follow the Insights Association online at: https://www.insightsassociation.org/Anita answers these questions:You spent two decades at Kantar, most recently as Chief Solutions Leader for Creative, Innovation, and Qualitative — and now you're leading a trade association. What drew you to the Insights Association at this particular moment in the industry's evolution? The IA represents over 30,000 data and insights professionals. In your first months as CEO, what surprised you most about stepping into an advocacy and membership role versus a commercial one?CPG companies are under enormous pressure — tariffs, private label competition, shrinking research budgets. How is the insights function holding up, and where do you see it either gaining or losing strategic influence in the C-suite? The IA just held its Ignite: CPG event in Cincinnati. What were the dominant themes that emerged, and what does that tell us about what CPG insights leaders are most anxious about right now?You have a webinar series literally titled “Simulating Humans” — that's a provocative framing. How should CPG brands think about AI-generated synthetic respondents vs. real consumer research, and where does the IA draw the line on standards?AI is both a threat and an opportunity for the insights profession. In your view, what's the single biggest risk AI poses to the integrity of consumer data — and what is the IA doing about it?The IA has been driving the Global Data Quality Excellence Pledge and launching new resources around procurement and incentive guidelines. For CPG brands buying research, what should they actually be demanding from their vendors right now that most of them aren't?Survey fraud and data integrity issues have become a serious industry problem. How bad is it, and what levers does the IA have to enforce quality standards across the ecosystem? The IA is actively tracking state-by-state privacy legislation, GDPR, and now the proposed SECURE Data Act. How does a fragmented U.S. privacy landscape create operational headaches for CPG brands doing consumer research at scale? The IA recently raised concerns about how the Department of Labor classifies research respondents. That's a sleeper issue with real cost implications — can you walk our listeners through what's at stake?Anita, you've been recognized for developing the next generation of insights leaders throughout your career. With burnout high among market researchers and AI changing the job description rapidly, what would you tell a young person today about why this profession is still worth pursuing? You said upon your appointment: “I've spent my career believing in the power of insights to drive better decisions and better outcomes.” For CPG brands that are deprioritizing primary research in favor of data lakes and retail media signals — what's the cost of that trade-off that they might not be seeing?CPG Guys Website: http://CPGguys.comFMCG Guys Website: http://FMCGguys.comSheCOMMERCE Website: https://shecommercepodcast.com/Rhea Raj's Website: http://rhearaj.comLara Raj in Katseye: https://www.katseye.world/DISCLAIMER: The content in this podcast episode is provided for general informational purposes only. 886 We Have Heard For Ourselves, A Guided Christian Meditation on John 4:37-42 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Scripture for Meditation John 4 NIV 39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, "He told me everything I ever did." 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world." RSV 39 Many of the Samaritans of that town began to believe in him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me everything I have done." 40 When the Samaritans came to him, they invited him to stay with them; and he stayed there two days. 41 Many more began to believe in him because of his word, 42 and they said to the woman, "We no longer believe because of your word; for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the savior of the world." Reflection on Scripture: The Samaritan woman at the well shared her simple faith in Jesus. That was enough to peak the interest of the whole location where she lived. Yet it was not this testimony that saved. It was Jesus. His presence. His spirit. His words. When the people had heard Jesus themselves, then they came to understand and have faith. Then they heard it for themselves. This is what we all need. As you spend time in scripture, in prayer, in worship, in meditation, you turn your attention from just hearing other people's experience with God and you begin to have your own, or you deepen your own experience. No matter who you are and what spiritual connection you have had with God, to get lax in this area. When this happens we miss out on the beauty and peace that come from proximity to the influence of God's word in our life. Why on earth would we not graciously drink from the cool water of life that God offers. God offers you His love? How often do you drink of it? How often do you let it flow by without savoring it? Do you constantly feed your faith in God with deep and meaningful personal experience with God's spirit and His words? Go to the source of truth, the source of peace, the source of power and strength. Take this mediation as a recommittal to spend time with God. Don't outsource your faith. Don't defer what you hold to be true to someone who had their own spiritual experience. Go to God. Go to His word. Go to God in prayer. By all means learn from the wise and learned people, but your faith must grow from within you. The fact that someone else has profound knowledge that has fed their own faith will not be enough for you until you put your focus to grow the roots of your own faith deeper inside of yourself. THen as that faith grows you can constantly nourish it with more knowledge from wise sources. Many times we see Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit.
