In this later added episode, hosted by Joel McHale, we check in with some of the most interesting characters from the Netflix popular docuseries, Erick Cowie, Jeff and Lauren Lowe, John Reinke, Kelci "Saff" Saffery, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, and Rick Kirkham. Jeff and Lauren are still planning to open their new zoo. John Finlay has cleaned up, is wearing a shirt and has brand new teeth. Erick Cowie is over Joe Exotic and glad that he is in prison. John Reinke and Saff are still loyal to the Tiger King but are still even more loyal to the animals. Joshua Dial is still dealing with the trauma of witnessing Travis Maldonado's death but does explain how the incident seemed to be an accident. Lastly, Rick Kirkham, now living in Norway with his girlfriend, is still extremely bitter over the loss of time and work he put into his experience with Joe. In the finale of the most explosive docuseries on Netflix, the Tiger King, Joe Exotic, finds himself speaking to the camera from inside prison. Joe is tried and faces up to 79 years in prison for animal abuse and for his part in the murder-for-hire of enemy Carole Baskin. Jeff Lowe, James Garrettson and Allen Glover turn on Joe and help the feds with the case. In the meantime, Jeff has taken over Joe's zoo and is starting to build a new zoo elsewhere in Oklahoma. He partners with exotic animal owner, Tim Stark, to build the biggest and nicest zoo in the country but their relationship goes south as Tim is fronting all the money and doing all the initial work on the new zoo. Tim splits in his partnership with Jeff and threatens to take him down, but that is not the only threat we see in this episode. Joe is on a mission to take all the other exotic animal owners down as he partners with PETA to give them information about other roadside zoos and the animal abuse happening in them which leads to a December 2019 investigation into Doc Antle's Myrtle Beach Safari. Joe Exotic and Jeff Lowe have a falling out after Jeff was ordered by court to not get in trouble for a year to avoid a 179 day sentence for having cubs that were illegal, the second big charge against him after he beat his wife up. Joe bails Jeff out of prison on several occasions but when he returns to Oklahoma from Vegas, Jeff and Joe get into it about campaign spending using the Zoo's money, on camera. Joe burns all the records to cover his tracks and then leaves the zoo to an undisclosed location he calls "Belize" yet everyone believes he is actually in Florida. Joe, along with Jeff and Allen Glover, plan to murder Carole Baskin using a crossbow while she rides her bike on the usual trail by her house. Allen is paid $3000 to carry out the murder and heads to Florida. When he gets there he chickens out and goes out partying instead. Joe eventually is arrested. Tension at the GW Zoo begins to rise as Jeff Lowe comes in and fires half of the staff and brings in Allen Glover, who Joe Exotic is not able to get along with. Joe introduces Jeff to James Garretson, strip club and bar owner, and gives him $14,000 to open a pizza shop within the Zoo grounds using meats from the Walmart donation trucks. While the dynamics at the Zoo are changing, Joe decides to run for President, and when that fails, Governor. In the meantime, Joe's marriages begin to unravel. John Finlay leaves Joe for the receptionist he got pregnant, while Travis Maldonado shots himself on the GW Zoo property. Two months after Joe mourns the death of Travis, he gets married to Dillon Passage with Travis' mom in attendance. She had her arm tore to shreds while working at the GW Zoo and decided to forgo the two years of reconstructive surgery to have her arm amputated to beat the media and keep the wellbeing of the cats. In this episode we learn more about the followings of the big cat owners. Doc Antle, a doctor for mystic sciences, has three wives and pays his staff $100 per week. Joe Exotic on the other hand, allows people who have no place to go a chance to work with his animals for $350 a week, he followed in Doc's footsteps and has two husbands, John Finlay and Travis Maldonado.
