Was haben Almano Soler, Apollinaris Mineralwasser und Elefantenköpfe in Hotelzimmern gemeinsam? Richtig, gar nichts. Fresh off his third U.S. Mid-Am title, Stewart Hagestad swings by to chat with Shane about the win at Sleepy Hollow. The two discuss the difference between his first mid-am to the most recent one, what he still has left to accomplish in his amateur career, and how cool it will be for Hagestad to play in a U.S. Open (in 2024 at Pinehurst thanks to his mid-am win) where he played his first ever USGA event (2008 U.S. Amateur). They cover a variety of topics like the recent Walker Cup experience at St. Andrews, the stigma that surrounds successful mid-ams and their jobs, and plenty more. A huge thanks to Stew for his time and a big congrats on an incredible run. Hagestad has been the best mid-am golfer in the world for the last few years and it's impressive to watch. How interested were you in animals growing up? Ok, but do you EVEN KNOW a sloth!? Where is your San Diego Zoo CD-ROM? Animals always leave an impression on us. Whether through our pets, or through engaging with animals at a zoo, we all form opinions on animals early on. In this episode, Joe gets to talk all about animals, the zoo, and the journey certain animals take and how we can learn from them with Georgeanne Irvine. Enjoy! About Georgeanne Irvin San Diego native Georgeanne “George” Irvine has devoted her career to raising awareness about animals and wildlife conservation. She is the director of publishing for San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, where she has worked for 45 years, as well as the author of nearly 30 children's books about wildlife. Her award-winning Hope & Inspiration collection features true stories about individual animals from the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park that have overcome challenges in their lives. These hardcover books are illustrated with photographs and include wildlife facts and conservation information. Prior to publishing, George served in many capacities during her tenure with the Zoo--she worked in public relations and marketing as well as philanthropy. Her duties ranged from being a media spokesperson to escorting celebrities around the Zoo and animals to television shows (such as Johnny Carson's “Tonight” show) to creating collateral that helped the Zoo raise millions of dollars each year for conservation and new habitats. About the 'The Hope and Inspiration Collection' These colorful, non-fiction stories are illustrated with engaging photographs and include a section on fun animal facts. They also feature each animal's foot or handprints on the endpapers of the books as well as a list of things kids and their families can do to help wildlife. The concept behind the Hope & Inspiration collection is that if children can relate to the individual animals featured in the books, they will be inspired to care about each animal, its species, and all other wildlife species. You may have seen him getting praised by America's Got Talent judges on cable TV, or comparing the lyrics of "W.A.P." to "Baby It's Cold Outside" on TikTok, or donning a Providence or URI shirt on stage at a New York City comedy club. Either way, you definitely know Tom Cotter. In an exclusive interview with BBB's first ever comedian guest, Tom Cotter has us laughing like we've never done before on the show. Tom takes us back to his days growing up in Providence, discovering his love for comedy at Denison University, and making it a full-time career. As the first comedian ever to reach the finals of NBC's America's Got Talent, Tom's career rapidly took off - he collaborated with Jay Leno, Howard Stern, and other well-known comedians, as well as participating in an AGT Judge Roast of the late Joan Rivers. We discuss what it takes to be a comedian in today's world and turning the "brand" of a comedian into a business. BEERS: Will is fresh-off two beer festivals and has plenty of new beers to share with us, but one stood out as unique from Brew at the Zoo. Japas Cervejaria, a Brazilian brewery founded by women of Japanese descent, created "Matsurika," a pilsner backed with tea and jasmine petals. One of the more floral beers we've rated on the show, Matsurika scored high, especially considering its unique background. Jake is almost wrapped up with the review of his Western tour, finishing us off with another baseball beer from Petco Park in San Diego. Ballast Point, one of the more well-known breweries from Southern California, gave us "Swingin' Friar Ale," a crushable toast to the Padres with 100% Simcoe hops - a true home run for casual beers to drink at the ballpark. BUSINESS: Apple has finally launched their iPhone 15 and a host of new products, but it comes with a big caveat - the new Apple products will switch over to USB-C charging, a departure from the Lightning technology that they invented years ago. Will this help or hurt Apple, and will consumers rush to get new products given this new development? We spend far too much time debating if we're brainwashed by Apple, and sucked in by their interest-free loans and Apple Card. BALLS: Week 1 of the NFL came and went, and without a doubt, the biggest storyline has been Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles tendon on the fourth play of his first game as a New York Jet. What will the Jets do without him, and will we ever see him on the football field again? What veteran quarterbacks could we seen on the field in place of Rodgers? We go over some of the performances that we found impressive from Week 1, and give some bold predictions for next week. This episode is brought to you by DraftKings. One of the most fun pods of the year is here with Joel Dahmen and Geno Bonnalie, who were gracious enough to have a little fun at their own expense. Geno, who has looped for Joel for nine years, presents his top-five list of the worst shots and/or worst caddie calls of the two's partnership. It's an amazing conversation between two of the nicest guys in golf and a fun offseason reminder that even the best in the world can hit awful, awful golf shots at times (and pro-level caddies can occasionally add when they're supposed to subtract). An enormous thanks to Joel and Geno for taking a bit of time to have some fun with Shane. The Joker said that “madness is like gravity; all it takes is a little push.” All throughout the world, and especially in the United States, we are witnessing a growing divide between civility and barbarous behavior. From flash mobs robbing stores and mobs attacking people on the street, to social media challenges, and even the lack of basic ‘concert etiquette'. It seems as if it is not only our culture or social institutions but our very minds and bodies too that have been contaminated with something perverse and putrid. From the Fukushima water dump into the ocean this month to Maui and Burning Man. We are watching the pink turn black, i.e., nature, love, etc., being inverted and burned away. The paradise of Maui was scorched with fire and then officials planned to spray it with a pink plastic coating. The pink salty desert of Black Rock, where Burning Man takes place, was scorched with brown and black mud from flooding. These are microcosm of contamination; of alchemical mutation rather than transformation. It's the same theme we saw in Barbie with the Saturn Sigil and in Oppenheimer with the Jupiter Sigil. In fact, Deborah De Luca, a DJ at Burning Man, also wore the Jupiter Sigil while she played over the weekend. This barbarous behavior is a de-evolved mankind, birthed from the blackness of the womb and pinkness of the birth canal. That birth is of a new man, less evolved, more angry, and driven by radical and dangerous ideologies, as well as a general lack of values. It is no coincidence then that Burning Man's theme this year was ANIMALIA, the animal, or that the Electric Zoo festival was turned into chaos when attendees stormed the gates like feral or caged animals. Even all the roads into Burning Man were named after cryptids like the Kraken - which is also a disease variant. This behavior is also exemplified by the concept of ‘crazy barbie' who is played with too hard by Lovecraftian beings, i.e., humans, in another dimension beyond the torn membrane separating universes.Something is making us crazy, be that ideology, lack of education, or pop-culture. Something is turning us into beasts, dragons, and monsters. All the drugs, sex, bizarre art, and energy transfer at Burning Man, not to mention the giant burned effigy, is equivalent to an Aleister Crowley magic ritual, or something akin to a black mass offering. The fact that this occurs in a desert, like the Trinity bomb test, is further indicative of its ritual and magical nature. The same debauchery is encouraged at every level of our society. And it opens the body and mind to the same forms of possession. Then when you step outside of these popular culture themes and topics you find people like Taylor Swift who has a phantom piano, fans chanting 'summon the demons', UFO sightings over her concert, and people leaving with ‘post-concert amnesia'. In fact, many swifties are having out-of-body experiences or entering into dream-like states - the name of Burning Man in 2022 was ‘Waking Dreams', which featured pink smoke, DNA, and an eyeball Saturn Sigil. Taylor Swift's current tour is also called Eras, like the goddess of discord and also another variant like Kraken. Taking a look at other ultra-famous artists like Dojo Cat make the picture a lot clearer. Her songs ‘Paint the Town Red' and ‘Demons' are not metaphors and they are not for shock value - a shirt that reads ‘feral', armbands of reversed pentagrams, blood sacrifice; the pulling back of the white veil and demonic possession in a bathtub of black goo.Doja Cat also announced her new album 'Scarlet' with a red spider in August, just a few weeks after AHS announced the new season 'Delicate' which features birth and spiders. These lyrics, songs, and images are sincere rituals intended to steal through vampiric means people's currency in the form of attention and money. This is also not the Satanic Panic 2.0, but instead a result of our collective loss of culture, values, morals, ethics, responsibly, etc. Therefore, people are losing their minds, becoming animals, and BEASTS, and the elite priestly class, that uses these celebrities as dolls, is openly and proudly showing what they believe in and have faith in.This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5328407/advertisement
