Catterick Garrison has hosted a big night of Army boxing. Units from all over the UK assembled at the Leisure Centre for the gala evening. Part of the nine bout fight card was a match up between a Para PTI making his amateur debut and LCpl Postlethwaite from 2nd Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment. Training has been the main focus for 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment in 2014. All three rifle companies have been overseas, there was a big exercise in Estonia and a historical trip to the battlefields of France. The tempo doesn't slow down in 2015 with a trip to Kenya in the first part of the year before the unit move to Akrotiri in the summer. A former soldier who was wounded in Afghanistan has overcome the odds to walk again. Mark Harding was serving with 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment when he was shot through the neck in a firefight. Despite being told by medical staff he may never walk again, the Army veteran was determined to regain his mobility. Mark now competes for Great Britain in dragon boat racing and is an ambassador for ABF - The Soldiers' Charity. Mark has been telling Chris Kaye about his military career at the Big Curry event in Munster Barracks.
