BFBS presenter Chris Kaye joined soldiers from the Infantry Training Centre & the Army Foundation College on an adventure race in North Yorkshire. On a whim the Forces Breakfast host decided to take part in Adrenalin Shock on the Aske Estate in Richmond. The demanding course is run over uneven ground with rivers to negotiate and steep inclines to ascend. The route concludes with the punishing Krypton Factor assault course which includes monkey bars, rope swings, cargo nets, and balance beams. Thirty wives from the Light Dragoons are preparing to hurl themselves out of a plane from 13,000 feet. The tandem parachute jump is on behalf of ABF - The Soldiers' Charity. The ladies have just had their first briefing ahead of next April's jump from Durham Tees Valley Airport. They aim to raise £10,000 for the military charity. A former soldier who was wounded in Afghanistan has overcome the odds to walk again. Mark Harding was serving with 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment when he was shot through the neck in a firefight. Despite being told by medical staff he may never walk again, the Army veteran was determined to regain his mobility. Mark now competes for Great Britain in dragon boat racing and is an ambassador for ABF - The Soldiers' Charity. Mark has been telling Chris Kaye about his military career at the Big Curry event in Munster Barracks.
