Reason Magazine is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The first issue of this well-known libertarian monthly publication was printed in 1968. It was the brainchild of a 20-year-old Boston University Student named Lanny Friedlander. As you may guess, the young man was a fan of Ayn Rand and objectivism. It was his way of commenting on things from a non-conventional left/right perspective. Business of Politics host Lindsay France sat down with Nick Gillespie, Editor At Large for Reason Magazine to talk about how the audience and the journalism industry has changed since its founding. Gillespie says that, especially since the 1990s, the theme of decentralization has wound its way through how we now choose to live our lives, spend our money, and consume information - including journalism - and it’s thanks to technology. It's about to change even more.
Still hungover from the fallout of the 2016 elections, meaning the media circus and partisanship which divides the country, two campaign operatives, one Democrat, one Republican formed The Flip Side. It's your daily digest of op-eds and analyses from liberal and conservative media all wrapped up in one convenient newsletter. It's going gangbusters. Lindsay France sat down with Founder ( the democrat) Annafi Waheed.
