Bittern Primary Community Chats
Kellie is brand new to our school this year. She is fun and into anything arty. Kellie has been learning the ropes of the office and loves to use the PA system. She often complains about her bad back because she tried to piggy back Mr E. This is our extended no holds barred interview.
Kay has worked in many different jobs over the journey but she has been a teachers aid at Bittern Primary for a number of years now. Kay has a handle on basically anything that is going down in the school. She can also find anything that you want to locate in the school if it exists. Basically there probably not a job she hasn't also done in the school from move furniture, to man the office to score Cross Country. Go Kay.
Apparently Mr E lost his hair when he started teaching. He reckons it was when he got married but we don't believe him - he is prone to exaggerate and what could be more stressful, kids or a wife? Mr E has taught PE and sport for a long time but he is slowing down as evidenced by him pulling hamstrings whenever he plays us in football now. The other question is how old is he as he says 38? From the photo we reckon 88.
Well we had an interview fly south. That is we mucked it up so needed a replacement - quick. Peter came to the rescue. He just happened to be bringing his grand daughter to a Bittern Birdies playgroup - our introduction to Prep. It's great to see gran parents at the school and they are an important part of our community. Thanks for answering our in depth questions Peter.
Mrs Beech has been the pulse of Bittern Primary School for around 33 years. That's a long time. She is the one who gets the poor teachers paid on time and works out how much money you can spend on your supplies. So she is pretty important. And whoa behold you if you try to get into her office supply cupboard for a couple of batteries without telling her. Mrs Beech is often the friendly face you will find at the front office or solving your problems on the phone. She is important in making the school tick.
Miss Bacon started off as a wide eyed student at Bittern PS and now she is one of the longest serving staff members. Miss Bacon is always keen to expand her skills repertoire and always takes on new challenges like Art and leaning how to sign this year with Auslan. She is a relatively new mum juggling the busy demands of parenting and her teaching. Is here nothing Miss Bacon cannot do?
Hayley is the beautiful smile that greets you on many mornings at the Bittern PS office. She is always friendly and quick to offer assistance....and her lunch. She is a real blonde and we only mean that from the physical perspective and not the stereotype. Find out all about Hayley and how she ends up at Bittern Primary School via this hard hitting and incisive interview by our intrepid interviewers. Does she really hang 5 on twenty foot waves?
Mrs Towill is the stalwart of Bittern Primary School and is the longest serving teacher on staff. That doesn't mean she is the oldest, just the longest serving. She has taught nearly every grade in the school and always goes on the best holidays. Mrs Towill just loves her job so buckle up while we hear her interview with grade 3/4 students.
