La Corée du Sud est confrontée au fléau des « crimes sexuels en ligne » : des photos ou des vidéos à caractère sexuel, prises à l'insu de femmes, dans des espaces publics ou à domicile, qui finissent sur internet. Un phénomène amplifié par le boom de l'intelligence artificielle, qui facilite la création de deepfakes, des vidéos pornographiques réalisées par IA en incrustant le visage d'une victime bien réelle. Le gouvernement a créé, en 2018, un centre composé uniquement de femmes chargées de traquer et de supprimer ces contenus illicites en ligne. Dans un petit bureau du centre-ville de Séoul arborant des banderoles de soutien aux victimes de violences sexuelles, travaillent les « nettoyeuses du Net ». Elles sont 23 femmes à supprimer ces vidéos à caractère sexuel à la demande des victimes. Kim Hyojung est à la tête de cette équipe : « La plupart des victimes viennent nous voir après qu'un proche leur a dit qu'une vidéo d'elles circulait en ligne. Nous avons un programme d'intelligence artificielle qui détecte les republications de cette même vidéo sur internet, ce qui permet d'effacer ces contenus aussi bien sur les réseaux sociaux que sur des sites pornographiques. » Outre le retrait des contenus, le centre et ses 17 antennes régionales proposent un accompagnement psychologique et juridique aux victimes. Ces dernières sont de plus en plus nombreuses. Depuis son ouverture, le centre a déjà reçu 53 000 victimes et supprimé d'internet plus d'un million de contenus sexuels illicites. Des suppressions parfois difficiles, poursuit Kim Hyojung : « La majorité des vidéos sont hébergées sur des sites illégaux. L'hébergeur n'approuve donc pas notre demande de suppression. Dans ce cas, la police peut intervenir et faire fermer le site en question. Il y a aussi le problème des sites hébergés à l'étranger, mais, dans 80% des cas, ils le sont aux États-Unis et les autorités américaines collaborent avec nous pour supprimer ces contenus hébergés sur leur territoire. » Un impact sur la santé psychologique Ce sont des contenus pornographiques, parfois violents, parfois pédopornographiques, que les femmes du centre doivent consulter chaque jour pour les supprimer. Mme Park, qui doit garder l'anonymat pour effectuer son travail, nous explique l'impact que cela peut avoir sur sa santé : « Tout le monde est assez affecté émotionnellement et psychologiquement par ce travail. D'après l'expérience de collègues avec qui j'ai travaillé, certaines ont développé des insomnies, d'autres se sont mises à pleurer en voyant certains contenus filmés ou ont perdu l'appétit au point de sauter des repas. » Pour aider les 23 femmes chargées de supprimer ces contenus, le centre a mis en place un accompagnement psychologique permanent, explique Mme Park : « Nous avons, à raison d'une ou deux fois par mois, des consultations individuelles avec un psychologue pour prévenir les burn-out. Ce qui nous pousse également à continuer, c'est le soutien des victimes. Quand nous recevons des messages de remerciement de la part des personnes concernées, disant que cela les a aidées à retrouver leur vie quotidienne, je ressens que, même modestement, j'ai pu contribuer à ce que ces personnes surmontent une épreuve aussi lourde dans leur vie. » On estime que plus de la moitié des victimes de deepfakes pornographiques dans le monde seraient sud-coréennes. He brings more than 23 years of federal service, including five years in the Senior Executive Service, with extensive experience leading national emergency preparedness, response, and risk management efforts.Most recently, Jeremy led FEMA's Response Operations Division, overseeing national capabilities for identifying, alerting, and stabilizing threats and hazards, including the National Watch Center, FEMA Operations Center, National Response Coordination Center, and National Urban Search and Rescue program. He previously served as Chief of the National Response Coordination Center and FEMA Team Leader for the Domestic Emergency Support Team, responding to hundreds of presidentially declared disasters spanning hurricanes, wildfires, cyber incidents, and terrorist attacks.Earlier in his career, Jeremy served in senior policy, performance, external affairs, and emergency management roles at FEMA and the U.S. Department of Transportation. His experience also includes the Department of Homeland Security, Booz Allen Hamilton, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Department of Justice. He holds degrees from American University and the National Defense University's College of International Security Affairs and is a graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive Academy and Harvard's National Preparedness Leadership Initiative.Jeremy has dedicated over 20 years to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter, emergency medical technician, and instructor.

De notre correspondante à Caracas,  Dans le refuge dit du terrain de golf, un campement provisoire où plus de 300 sinistrés vivent dans la municipalité dévastée de Caraballeda, à La Guaira, une équipe de professionnels de Première urgence passe de tente en tente pour faire connaître son travail. « On vous offre un espace d'écoute, un espace où vous pouvez parler, où vous pouvez découvrir des outils pour canaliser vos émotions… », expliquent-ils. Quelques paravents permettent un peu d'intimité pour qui veut venir parler. Et tous les usagers ne sont pas des sinistrés. « Lundi, j'étais avec une secouriste qui, depuis le lendemain du séisme, travaille sous les décombres. Et je lui ai parlé de l'importance de prendre soin d'elle, insiste la professionnelle. Les sauveteurs passent leur temps à s'occuper des autres, à extraire des cadavres, mais c'est essentiel pour eux de se libérer un peu. Souvent, ils oublient que, dans tout ce processus, ils doivent s'écouter pour pouvoir continuer à aider. » Au Venezuela, les marques qu'a laissées le séisme sont profondes et les esprits mettront certainement des années avant de s'apaiser.
