Getting explicit location information from smart devices is not possible on the existing 911 network. But using an Over The Top architecture, users can now provide Public Safety with detailed location information as well as start interacting with emergency responders through HTML5 and WebRTC sessions that are enabled through the internet. the new service is called iLoc8 from @Avaya and can be seen at http://iLoc8SOS.com.
