http://www.sherylkline.com/blogIn the latest Fearless Female Leadership interview, I had the distinct honor of sitting down with Kimberly Currier, Global Vice President of Talent Development at AECOM, about “The Importance of Vision During Disruptive Times.”Kimberly's story is one of grit, grace, and grounded vision. A former Division I softball player turned global executive, she learned early that success depends not only on skill, but on teamwork, resilience, and self-leadership. These lessons carried her from the softball field to the boardroom, where she now helps leaders navigate change and uncertainty with clarity and compassion.Through career pivots (from 20 years at the American Cancer Society to corporate roles at Kimberly-Clark and AECOM) Kimberly has shown that growth doesn't always mean “upward.” Sometimes it means stepping sideways or even slowing down to realign with your values and well-being. Her courage was tested in 2020, when the pandemic, organizational change, and serious health challenges converged at once. Her response? Patience, grace, and a renewed commitment to focusing on what she could control.Kimberly believes vision acts as a compass during chaos… helping us filter out noise, stay aligned with our purpose, and focus energy where it matters most. Whether personal or organizational, vision keeps us grounded, intentional, and resilient (even in times of disruption.)

AI is the hottest topic in tech right now, evolving dramatically over the previous eight seasons of this podcast. We are kicking off Utilizing Tech season nine with a discussion of the state of the art of Agentic AI with Frederic Van Haren of HighFens, Guy Currier of Visible Impact, and Stephen Foskett of Tech Field Day. Generative AI augments our capabilities, and is being used every day by millions of people. Agentic AI combines reasoning with actions, enabling AI to perform actions on our behalf. Although AI does not reason like us, the way it manipulates data resembles intelligence, and iterative analysis can result in a chain of thought that strongly resembles reasoning. Agents can then receive context and take actions based on this using a framework like Model Context Protocol (MCP). These techniques help move generative AI from concept to production, building real applications rather than simply processing text. This season of Utilizing Tech will help our listeners understand the emerging agentic AI, and how this technology can make end users more productive and build profitable businesses using AI technology.Hosts: Stephen Foskett, President of the Tech Field Day Business Unit and Organizer of the Tech Field Day Event SeriesFrederic Van Haren, Founder and CTO of HighFens, Inc. Slaget vid Gettysburg i Pennsylvania den 1-3 juli 1863 är kanske det mest kända slaget i det amerikanska inbördeskriget. It's Founder Friday! I am very happy to welcome to the show the founders of Goldies Coffee Roasters Kristen Redfield and Jenna Currier! Kristen Redfield is a life-long Alaskan growing up in North Kenai, Alaska. In 2010 she began her coffee career as a barista just before graduating from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelors of Art in Art.  In 2013 she co-founded Goldie's Coffee Roasters in Anchorage with her sister Jenna and in 2018 they started their roastery. Outside of coffee Kristen loves being a mother- raising their two children with her husband Dan. They spend their free time hiking, camping and taking advantage of all Alaska has to offer.  Kristen also helps her husband run their nonprofit program Adventure for Ava in memory of their late daughter Ava Rose. Jenna Currier is a born and raised Alaskan. She is a wife, sister, entrepreneur and an award-winning coffee roaster. When she's not actively running a small business, Jenna enjoys traveling with her husband Tyler and taking advantage of Alaska's beautiful summers hiking with their two dogs, fishing, camping and spending time with family. Jenna Currier has been a part of the coffee industry since 2008, working as a barista through college until she graduated with the Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage. In 2013, she and Kristen seized the opportunity to turn their shared passion into a reality by opening their own drive thru cafe. Fueled for a love of great coffee and community, Goldies was born. For the last 12 years, Kristen and Jenna have been busy growing a small business, sourcing specialty coffee and serving freshly roasted beans in Anchorage. The search for a consistent coffee blend that would hold up in a milk based beverage ultimately led to roasting their own coffee in summer 2018. Just after a year of learning how to source, ship and roast speciality coffee, they entered their first Golden Bean Roasting Competition in Nashville, coming home with medals in multiple categories. Kristen and Jenna continue to attend industry events both nationally and at the local level. They recognize that there is always something new to learn and bring back to serve their community. They share a love for specialty coffee and exceptional customer service, and they strive to ensure every customer experiences both with each visit. Goldie's Coffee Roasters operates from a single location with a dedicated team of six staff members who work together to create a positive, welcoming, and fun environment. We get the whole story in this interview along with great insights into staffing, hospitality, drive-thru service, designing offerings for customer preference, leadership and much more!  Links:  https://goldiescoffeeroasters.com/ https://www.instagram.com/goldiescoffeeroasters/ https://www.avasstory.org/   Related episodes:   INTERESTED IN 1:1 CONSULTING AND COACHING? Collagen protein has been hyped as a muscle-building supplement, especially for older adults, but does it really deliver? In this episode, we use Bayesian Inference – a powerful statistical tool – to evaluate the latest research on collagen's effectiveness for muscle growth.Learn how to apply Bayesian thinking to fitness claims and make smarter decisions about your nutrition and training. Discover why you might need to rethink your protein supplement strategy and how to optimize your protein intake for real muscle gains. To learn more about building muscle efficiently (and hear me bust other wild claims of the fitness industry), join my FREE mailing list at https://witsandweights.com/emailMain Takeaways:Bayesian Inference is a method of updating beliefs based on new evidence, crucial for evaluating fitness claims.Recent research examines whether collagen protein actually increases muscle protein synthesis.Protein quality, not just quantity, is important for muscle growth... at least to an extent. The Bayesian approach can be applied to all areas of fitness and nutrition to make more informed decisions.Need high-quality protein (whey or pea/rice powder or bars)? Today I've got an awesome conversation with just the kind of everywoman superhero I love to talk to on the pod - Lindsay Currier, a registered Maine guide, mountain bike coach, enduro racer, trail builder, ski patroller, total mom goals and the force behind Bikepack Maine.Lindsay's lived on both coasts and a few places in between, and has spent a bunch of years doing a bunch of stuff to lift up women in biking, whether as her full-time gig or as a side-hustle-on-steroids.We don't talk a ton about how Lindsay got into biking in the first place, or what brought her into racing and coaching initially, but I've linked up a fantastic blog post here (https://www.josiebikelife.com/2015/11/women-involved-series-lindsay-currier.html) that will give you a window into her life and back story as of 2015, when it was written. There's still lots of ground to be covered today, though, and while a lot of things have changed for Lindsay in the past decade (mostly driven by the fact she now has a daughter, Saffron, and lives in Maine instead of out West), there are still a few golden threads that are woven all the way through - among them her commitment to promoting women on and around bikes; her innate drive to foster community; and her desire to help others avoid all the costly and borderline critical mistakes and slipups she made as she learned how to ride big. And as an added bonus for any of you who dream of riding big with your little rippers, Lindsay shares some mindset tricks and gear tips that will help set you up for success!Follow Lindsay's (and Saffron's!) adventures:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lindsaybethc/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lindsay.currier.50Bikepack Maine: http://www.bikepackmaine.com/A hint of the single track miles we cover can be found in our extensive link list (come on over to the episode page on GuidesGoneWild.com for even more)!:Packraft MaineRolling Fatties (Kingfield, ME)How to become a Registered Maine GuideChariot Bike TrailerCarver Bikes Maine Huts and TrailsBurley PiccoloStowe Leaf Blower - Stowe Trails Partnership (VT)Kingdom Trails (VT)Kids Ride Shotgun Bike SeatShotgun PogiesEDT - Eastern Divide TrailKatie Holden - Red Bull ‘Formation'Devinci Mountain/Enduro BikesEastern States Cup EnduroTrans New England EnduroSteep & Cheap

This week's topic is finding the key to unbreakable confidence. You must put yourself out there– when looking for love, you can fake it until you make it or fail it to nail it! We all have failures of epic proportions and go through several failed relationships, which are inevitable, but they can also provide valuable opportunities. Today's guest is Ben Currier, the World's #1 Biggest Failure and host of the podcast The Failure Guy. Ben was fired repeatedly and couldn't figure out why he wasn't succeeding. He'll share why failure has many benefits, like getting honest with yourself and improving self-awareness. Failing inspires creativity and encourages innovative solutions to problems. And why we can quickly turn it around and go in another direction because we all have a get out of fail free card. Self-proclaimed World's #1 Failure Ben Currier hosts the ironically successful “Failure Guy” podcast. His podcast currently has a global reach: that Spotify-owned Chartable ranks higher than 99.8% of all Podcasts. Ben spent 15 years in corporate America, financially forecasting billions of dollars across multiple industries. He is an Excel guru, 4-time Microsoft MVP Award Winner, and creator of one of the six Best Online Excel Classes per Investopedia.
