Elaine is an old family friend and a journalist working in Nueva York for People magazine - i painted this crime reporter in the studio on the last day of the 2018-- this is pretty choppy recording with totally random tangents so hold on!
Rosie Castro has dedicated her life to LA CAUSA. She is a native to the westside of San Antonio. She started her political activism young by being involved with The Free Angela Davis campaign, the Raza Unida Party, and of course with the Committee for Barrio Betterment. In 1971 against all odds ran for city council with CBB, only to come in 2nd place among 4 other candidates. In this episode Rosie talks about the history of how this city functioned under white-rule and the struggle for equal representation. Rosie is also the mother of 2 men who are making huge waves to bring integrity to the nation. It was a huge honor to have her in the studio.
