She is one RAD woman. A term from our collective youth, Mel Wilson is the personification of being rad. Being rad is radical - cool, awesome, great. Yes, she is all those things and more. Mel imparted some serious wisdom during our conversation, like: there's power in owning your thoughts and they are something no one can ever take away from you. And, our worth is not tied to our results so own your worth. Those are just the beginning. I left the conversation feeling full, satisfied and with a deep sense of admiration for all Mel had to say. She is definitely unapologetic for who she is. Yes, more of that please for all of us.Mel is our guest this week in our series What's with All the Coaches and Why you Might Want One. This is part one of our conversation. You can find her at Proof not Perfect or email her at Mel@ Proof not Perfect. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. If you'd like to receive ongoing inspiration via email, and/ or if you want to attend our monthly FREE webinar, email us at: unabashedyou@gmail.com. What's up, dudes? It's the greatest store ever to an ‘80s kid! Yes, it's Toys “R” Us, the category killer! Today we're talking the Toys “R” Us Christmas Dream Book 1986!Toys “R” Us goes all the way back to 1948, when Charles Lazarus opened a little Washington, D.C. shop called Children's Bargain Town, selling baby furniture. Eventually he pivoted from cribs and strollers to playthings. In 1957, Lazarus opened the first store under the Toys “R” Us name, built like a supermarket for toys—long aisles, stacked shelves, self-service shopping, and wall-to-wall kids' stuff. This book provides a huge variety of toys. From ThunderCats to Cabbage Patch Kids, there's something for everyone. The Milton Bradley games provided hours of fun, and Cats Lair gave the ThunderCats a base and place of respite in between fighting mutants and berserkers. Of course, Robotech 3 3/4in figures were great to incorporate on your Joe team!Electronic Battleship? Check. Lazer Tag? Rad! The Hart Family? Only if it's a surprise party playset! So grab your ThunderCats figures, throw them in your Sling ‘Em Fling ‘Em Wrestling Ring, and circle your favorites in this Toys “R” Us Christmas Dream Book 1986!Give us a buzz!

Mien Madam un ick weern jüst 'n beten mehr as 'n Week op'n Kämpingplatz. Gor ni wiet wech, knapp teihn Kilometers vör Husum. Man finnd je so veel Niedet rut, wenn man sick mol in de eegene Gegend ümkieken deiht, ne. Wi sünd fief, süss mol op't Rad no Husum neiht. Un ick mutt seggen: So gries un grau as Theo Storm dat schreeven hett, is de „graue Stadt an't Meer“ gor ni. Na jo, de grooten Silos an Hoben kunn man mol 'n beten scheun bunt anmoln. Dat gifft dor allns mögliche to eeten un to drinken un to inkööpen un to kieken. Dor is för jeden wat dorbi. Sogor 'n Inkööpszentrum mit 35 Lodens gifft dat dor, un in jedet eenzelne Geschäft is wat los. Mien Seute un ick hebbt dor jeden Dag wat Niedet entdeckt. Un wi hebbt uns jeden Dag froogt: Worüm geiht in Husum, wat bi uns ni geiht? Löppt man dör de Footgänger-Strooten in Heid‘ oder Meldörp, kümmt man sick bilütten för as in halve Geisterstädte. Wat mokt man in Husum also anners? Wenn man dat rutfinnen wurr, denn kunn man sick dat je eenfach afkieken un dat nomoken. Wi hebbt dat vör Ort ni rutkreegen. Overs as wi weller to Huus mit uns Novers an't snacken weern, keem dat Thema op dat Inkööpen per Knoopdruck. Vun wegen, wenn allns „online“ bestellt ward, denn künnt de Geschäfte je ni överleven. Un dor is mi dat inschooten: Ick glööv, de hebbt in Husum noch gor keen Internet! Jo, so mutt dat ween. De künnt wohrschienli gor nix „online“ bestelln. Kiek. So wurr hier ook weller mehr Leven in de Städte kom‘. Veellicht schulln wi bi uns eenfach mol dat Internet afschalten… In düssen Sinn

It's not a beer, it's not a wine, it's not a cocktail – it's a podcast episode! On this episode of That's Rad, a podcast presented by the Littleton Food Co-op, Auspicious Brew co-founder Helen Leavitt joins the chat to talk about kombucha, community, and the intersections between them. While Helen is no stranger to fermentation, New Hampshire is still getting to know kombucha, making Auspicious Brew the first licensed kombucha brewery for the state. Along the way, Auspicious Brew's headquarters in Dover, NH has come to be a community hub, particularly for those defining themselves outside the lines, thus mirroring the same ineffable, category-breaking drink they sip there. Helen and host Anastasia discuss if there was intentionality behind this decision, how no trip to the brewery yields the same results, and the auspicious future that lies ahead for the business. Available to listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, and in-browser listening at littletoncoop.com/podcast.
The wonderful Scottish dancer Serena McCall is currently appearing in Matthew Bourne's The Car Man. It's a tale of torrid sex and violence, set in a small US town. Serena herself always looks cucumber cool. She was head girl at her school outside Stirling in Scotland, and her socials showcase her poise and chic. She has also performed in some of the UK's biggest dance shows, like Kate Prince's Message in a Bottle and Quadrophenia, based on the Who's album and movie, as well as the Wicked movies. These projects lean on her ballet technique but mix it up with hip hop, commercial moves and the steamy drama of characters living on the edge. Hur borde flikar fungera? The human body is a walking repository of human experience, its joys and terrors, surprises and exhilarations. Someone who knows how to tap into that embodied experience is Alexandra Beller – an American dancer, choreographer and somatic educator, whose new book explores how movement and our lived relationship to it can widen our capacity for self-trust and curiosity. Alexandra danced for several years with choreographer Bill T Jones and now creates work for theatre and dance, alongside her own therapy and teaching practice. She's perfectly placed to tell us what the body knows. Dnes jsme spíš konzultanti a průvodci. Radíme, doporučujeme, ale pořád máme pacientovi nabízet to nejlepší. This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Shamus back on the show as they discuss the 1986 BMX-citing flick Rad. This movie stars a pre-felon Aunt Becky and a post-Spicoli Mr Hand, along with a whole bunch of nobodies on BMX bikes (Oh, Rocky's wife makes an appearance, apparently paying the price for being married to the producer) . This movie has it all. A bike trick montage, a paper delivery montage, a dance montage, a dance-bike montage, and a racing montage, along with open credits shot over bike tricks and end credits shot over bike tricks. Yup. That's the whole movie. It's Hot Dog! The Movie, set to bikes. Enjoy the podcast!Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.#jezoo74 #aegonzo1 #danacapoferri #exciting_new
Most people think waiting is the safe option. They tell themselves they'll start exercising when they feel stronger... join a coaching program when they're more motivated... or take the next step once they're "ready."But after more than twenty-five years of coaching people through injuries and major life changes, Rad and I have learnt something surprising. The biggest regret we hear is almost never, "I wish I'd waited longer."It's almost always..."I wish I'd started sooner."In this episode, I share an email from someone working through our free Coaching In Your Inbox series who unintentionally revealed one of the biggest mental traps we see in rehabilitation—and in life.He told us he'd join our coaching program once his shoulder felt ready for the next step. The problem is...Your shoulder doesn't suddenly become ready. It becomes ready because you take the right next step. We'll explore the hidden cost of waiting, why your body is always adapting (whether you realise it or not), and why the perfect time to act almost never arrives. If you've ever delayed improving your health, returning to training, or making an important decision because you thought you needed to be "ready" first, I think this conversation will completely change the way you think about progress.Click play, and I'll explain what I mean.
In this heartfelt episode of Fostering Conversations, host Amy Smith sits down with Ellie Barlow, a dedicated foster parent from a rural Utah community. Ellie shares her family's remarkable journey fostering 22 children, adopting five, and navigating the unique challenges of raising high-needs youth far from urban resources. From building a thriving support system in a small town to parenting children with trauma, autism, and medical fragility, Ellie offers honest insight and practical wisdom for foster and adoptive families alike. The conversation highlights the importance of partnership in marriage, trauma-informed care, community involvement, and the powerful beauty of reunification. What You'll Learn What fostering looks like in rural communities How to prepare for high-needs placements Why being on the same page with your partner is critical The impact of trauma-informed parenting tools like TBRI How to build a support system when resources are limited The emotional realities of foster care and reunification Key Topics Covered Rural foster care challenges and creative solutions Supporting children with trauma, RAD, and autism The importance of training and ongoing education Community support and how others can help foster families Emotional resilience and self-care strategies A powerful reunification story that redefines success Memorable Takeaway Foster care is both deeply challenging and profoundly meaningful. As Ellie shares, “You don't have to be perfect to step in. Showing up with consistency, compassion, and commitment can change lives.”

Most people think load management is simply about choosing the right weight in the gym.But after coaching injured lifters for more than twenty years, Rad and I have found that's only part of the picture.Recently, someone working through our free Coaching In Your Inbox series emailed us to say his shoulder was feeling much better. He'd even increased the weights on some of his rehab exercises. Then, just a few hours later, his shoulder flared up.At first, it seemed obvious that he'd progressed too quickly. But as we kept asking questions, a completely different cause emerged. He'd also started swimming again. That conversation became the perfect reminder that your shoulder doesn't separate gym training from the rest of your life. It simply experiences total load.In this episode, I explain one of my favourite analogies for understanding shoulder pain and rehabilitation: the load capacity cup. You'll learn why pain often isn't caused by the last thing you did, but by the combination of everything you've exposed your shoulder to throughout the day.More importantly, I'll explain why great rehabilitation isn't about avoiding load forever. It's about gradually increasing your shoulder's capacity so it can tolerate more training, more sport, and more of the activities you enjoy. If you've ever felt like your shoulder pain came out of nowhere, or you've been frustrated because your rehab suddenly stopped working, I think this episode will completely change the way you think about recovery.Click play, and I'll explain what I mean.

Forty years after RAD became one of the most beloved cult classics in BMX and pop culture, the race continues with Helltrack. In this episode, editor Todd Seligman joins the Bandits to discuss the new Kickstarter-funded graphic novel that serves as the official sequel to the iconic 1986 film. Todd shares how the project came together with the original filmmakers and cast, the challenge of honoring a fan-favorite movie while telling a fresh story, and what readers can expect from Cru Jones' return to the legendary Helltrack. The conversation also explores the creative process behind assembling the comic, the all-star creative team, and why this long-awaited continuation is the perfect way to celebrate the film's 40th anniversary. You can back Helltrack until July 3 here: kck.st/4unadHW. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
