The good news is it's not hard to capture great sound for your podcast outside of a professional recording studio. All you need is: a dynamic microphone (which will reduce background noise significantly), a small, soft, quiet space to record (a closet, your car, in a blanket fort-- really), and proper microphone technique (check your microphone's instructions for appropriate use). The great thing is the environment and technique are practically cost-free solutions.  If someone had pointed that out to me in 2014, it would have saved me a lot of time, money, and frustration Now is the time to start a podcast. his question about podcasting profit cropped up a few times on Facebook over the weekend. But really, it's one of those questions that gets asked with alarming regularity. The answer truly is: Probably never.  

What you don’t hear from the top performing podcasts is the editing. But they are edited. And you can’t tell be that’s how editing works. Think of all the rough drafts you’ve never seen from your favorite blog or TV how. Podcasting shouldn’t be different. Always capture the best quality recording you can for your podcast. But when it comes to interviewing guests, it can be extremely difficult to get them to plug-in a dynamic USB microphone or use a USB headset. So often times the easiest thing is for them to use their laptop’s but in mic. Actually, the easiest thing for a podcast guest to do is use their phone to call in to an app like zoom or Skype.The best part about this is our ears are used to recognizing phone calls and we don’t complain about the audio quality.

You work so hard to get the perfect photo for your social media posts. They're clear, crisp, and never blurry. Why are you approaching your audio differently?
