The good news is it's not hard to capture great sound for your podcast outside of a professional recording studio. All you need is: a dynamic microphone (which will reduce background noise significantly), a small, soft, quiet space to record (a closet, your car, in a blanket fort-- really), and proper microphone technique (check your microphone's instructions for appropriate use). his question about podcasting profit cropped up a few times on Facebook over the weekend. But really, it's one of those questions that gets asked with alarming regularity. The answer truly is: Probably never.

Always capture the best quality recording you can for your podcast. But when it comes to interviewing guests, it can be extremely difficult to get them to plug-in a dynamic USB microphone or use a USB headset. So often times the easiest thing is for them to use their laptop’s but in mic. Actually, the easiest thing for a podcast guest to do is use their phone to call in to an app like zoom or Skype.The best part about this is our ears are used to recognizing phone calls and we don’t complain about the audio quality.
