In August of 2022, 24-year-old Andi Wagner left an acquaintance's home in Newburgh, Indiana in the middle of the night and seemingly disappeared into thin air. Andi was struggling with drug addiction, and like many addicts who go missing, her story quickly lost traction and grew cold. Her family has done everything they can to keep her name and memory alive while they exhaust every avenue in hopes of finding her. Regardless of what Andi's life looked like, she is a daughter, a big sister, and a cousin, who deserves justice. When Andi disappeared, she was 5'4 and about 125 lbs. She is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She may also be using the last name 'Blair.' Andi has several tattoos, including a dream catcher and rose on her left forearm with the name "Elane Dora," the name "Joshua Wayne Brown" in black script on her left forearm over several Roman numerals in red script, a small rocket on her left ankle, and multiple on her fingers. Amazon just launched an AI system that conducts job interviews without any human involvement, packaging up the same playbook it used to cut 30,000 of its own jobs and selling it to the world. OpenAI — the company behind ChatGPT and valued at $852 billion — is quietly missing its own revenue and user targets, raising internal questions about whether it can fund its infrastructure commitments ahead of a planned IPO. The Wall Street Journal reveals that tech giants are expected to spend $670 billion on AI in 2026, and they're funding it by eliminating people — 92,000 tech layoffs so far this year. Most of us get on a call with a prospect, hear the word "content," and immediately start thinking about deliverables. Blog posts, white papers, email sequences. We jump straight to logistics: how long, how many, when's the deadline? That instinct made sense for a long time. But in an AI-shaped market, where the kinds of help clients need are shifting and expanding, it will cost you. It will cost you in deals you didn't win because you pitched the wrong thing. In engagements that started off on the wrong foot. And in relationships where the client never quite felt like you understood their real situation. In this episode, I share the framework I now use to hear what a prospect actually needs before I reach for any offer. It starts with a simple idea: underneath every surface request, there's a signal. And that signal tells you what the client really needs, which is often different from what they asked for. I walk through six signals that come up over and over in prospect conversations, each one pointing to a different underlying need: overwhelm, skill gaps, skepticism, capacity constraints, wrong-format requests, and clean execution opportunities. For each signal, I explain what it sounds like, what it actually means, and what kind of offer fits best. I also connect this back to a bigger idea I've been building all month: you should have two or three strong offers ready to go. But having offers is only half the equation. The other half is diagnosis, the ability to sit in a conversation, listen carefully, and match what you hear to what you know you can deliver. Your offers are the tools on your bench. Diagnosis is knowing which tool to pick up. You need both.

https://teachhoops.com/ One of the most taxing challenges a coach can face is the "Enigma"—the player who possesses all the physical tools and natural intuition for the game, yet lacks the internal fire to refine them. We often call this the "Motivation Gap." In these scenarios, the danger isn't just the untapped potential of that individual; it's the "Cultural Dilution" that occurs when the rest of the team sees talent being prioritized over effort. To bridge this gap, a coach must move from a "Command and Control" style to a "Discovery and Purpose" approach. You have to find the "Why" behind the lethargy. Is it a fear of failure, a lack of challenge, or a disconnect between their personal goals and the team's mission? When dealing with unmotivated talent, you must first determine if you are dealing with "Comfort" or "Conflict." The Comfort Trap: Some players have always been the best in the room without trying. They have developed a "Fixed Mindset" where they believe their talent is a static trait. For them, working hard feels like admitting they aren't "naturally" great. The Conflict Trap: Sometimes, a lack of motivation is a defensive mechanism. If they don't try and they lose, they can say, "I wasn't really trying." If they try and lose, they have to face the reality of their ceiling. The "Challenge" Method: High-talent players are often bored by "blocked" drills. Introduce Variable Chaos—drills where they are disadvantaged (e.g., 2v3 or playing with a "weak hand only" restriction). Force them into situations where their natural talent isn't enough to succeed, necessitating a higher level of focus. Newspaper boys were disappearing. They would step out into the dark of the early morning hours to deliver the daily news to their neighborhoods and some of them did not return. It started in Iowa and then moved to Nebraska. Kids were plucked off the street just a few steps into their routes and some have vanished forever. Johnny Gosch went missing from Des Moines, Iowa in September of 1982. In August of 1984, 13 year old Eugene Martin disappeared during his early morning Des Moines Register paper route. After Eugene vanished the Anderson Erickson Dairy company began printing black and white photos and bios on the sides of Milk Cartons distributed across the state of Iowa. The third boy didn't have a paper route at all. Christopher Walden was abducted near his home while walking to school, on December 2, 1983. John Joubert confessed to and later was convicted of murdering Danny Joe Eberle and Christopher Walden. Even with a confession Joubert was a man with many secrets. Some he told to investigative reporter Mark Pettit.
