The lives and deaths of Jimi Hendrix and Mac Miller and the dangers of substance abuse and mental illness. The Wind Cries MaryBy: Jimi HendrixAfter all jacks are in their boxesAnd the clowns have all gone to bedYou can hear happiness staggering on down the streetFootprints dressed in redAnd the wind whispers MaryA broom is drearily sweepingUp the broken pieces of yesterday's lifeSomewhere a queen is weepingSomewhere a king has no wifeAnd the wind, it cries MaryThe traffic lights they turn a blue tomorrowAnd shine their emptiness down on my bedThe tiny island sags downstream'Cause the life that they lived is deadAnd the wind screams MaryWill the wind ever remember? The names it has blown in the pastAnd with its crutch, its old age and its wisdomIt whispers "no, this will be the last"And the wind cries Mary
This is our first episode! Hoorah! This episode talks about Juice WRLD, Jim Morrison and Clinical Depression. This podcast aims to help break the stigma regarding mental health and addiction. Season 1 is all about musicians who died young and/or tragically. This podcast offers insight into the lives of well-known artists who have famously or infamously struggled with mental health issues, addictions, abuse and other erratic and unexplained behaviors. The aim is to help all those who struggle or those who care for someone who struggles to have that negative connotation lifted from mental health issues. Mental illness is often associated with high levels of creativity and that's what we will explore on our show. We believe it's not a curse, but instead a gift to have these traits. Join us @ The Metro and lets talk about the artists we all know and love!
