Noam Wallenberg mixes it up. He's all about creative limitations, be it tracking with the “wrong mics” or mixing a live record like a studio recording. We dig into the music he's made with acts like Vulfpeck and The Fearless Flyers, what exactly tape does to music, and how taking the unconventional route can get you to beautifully unexpected places. For 30% off your first year of DistroKid to share your music with the world click DistroKid.com/vip/lovemusicmoreSubscribe to this pod's blog on Substack to receive deeper dives on the regular
Playlist:Bb trickz - Tipz & TrickzPanda Bear - PraiseJuan Wauters - If It's Not LuvEyedress, Mac DeMarco - My Simple JeepMyd, Channel Tres, Trueno - All that Glitters is not GoldThe Marías - Back To MeBuscabulla - El CaminoLUSILLON - Muero X Verterusowsky, Ralphie Choo - BBY ROMEOGuitarricadelafuente - Pipe dreamBeirut - Tuanaki AtollNick Mulvey - Holy DaysObongjayar - Sweet DangerEzra Collective, Sasha Keable - Body LanguageBADBADNOTGOOD, V.C.R - Found A Light (Beale Street)Jalen Ngonda - Just As Long As We're TogetherMac Miller - 5 Dollar Pony RidesEscuchar audio

On Episode 131 of the Guest Speaker Series, we welcome the hip-hop legend and Lawrence, MA native, Termanology, to the show! Termanology's illustrious career includes a discography of 50+ albums, with collaborations that range from Mac Miller, Paul Wall, Bun B, Statik Selektah, and so many more. He's even hit the Billboard charts on multiple occasions. Despite the fact that Termanology is a nationally known figure, his roots are still deeply tied to MA. Term and Mike discuss the state of MA music currently, as well as reflect on his come-up in Lawrence during a time when multiple acts like the aforementioned producer Statik Selektah, rapper Reks, and the late singer/songwriter Nawlege, all rose in their respective fames. As an elder statesmen at this point in his career, Term has brought much of his wealth of knowledge into the education field, where he teaches young people how to write music and produce, in partnership with Change the Play, as well as his own non-profit, Good Dad Gang. Term has also written a book ‘100 Ways to Be a Better Dad' which has changed the narrative as well as the lives of single dads and parents throughout the country, all of which Term discusses at length. We also have a special edition of Pop Quiz, where Term brings on a guest of his own, friend and vinyl connoisseur, Chico, as they go through some of their favorite vinyls within their respective collections, which include numerous special and exclusive editions that you may not see anywhere else. Episode 73: Keyon Harrold. Everywhere I turn, I see Keyon Harrold. He's widely regarded as one of the greatest trumpeters alive today, pushing the new jazz generation forward with power and soul. His solo album Foreverland was GRAMMY-nominated this year for Best Alternative Jazz Album, and his resume is stacked — Jay-Z, Common, Erykah Badu, Diana Ross, Mac Miller, Robert Glasper, the Count Basie Orchestra, Terrace Martin — and he played all the trumpet parts in the Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead. Keyon is a dear friend and an incredible human being. He drops so much wisdom in this episode and truly inspired me with his words. I hope you enjoy my conversation with the great Keyon Harrold. ‘Go with Elmo Lovano' is a weekly podcast where Elmo interviews creatives and entrepreneurs in music on HOW they push forward every day, got where they are in their careers, manage their personal lives, and share lessons learned and their most important insights. Mac Millers Masterpiece? Watching Movies With the Sound Off certainly showed us why he is considered one of the great rappers of his era.
One of our favourite beer scenes on the planet is the glorious state of North Carolina, and this past winter, we were lucky enough to visit twice. On the way down to Florida, we swung by Raleigh, NC, and our first stop was Funguys Brewing, an innovation-driven spot that came highly recommended by friend of the show, Will Cleveland. Cee hung out with Nick and Carly to chat about the North Carolina scene, their homebrew beginnings in Pittsburgh, PA, their love for Mac Miller and their annual dedicated releases, their take on the longevity of different styles, their favourite hops, their fun approach to smoothies and seltzers, why their beers always have a story, and their upcoming seventh anniversary releases. They got into six impeccable Funguys beers - Von Brango Pilsner, Thumbs Up Hazy IPA (Mac Miller Dedication), Spring Cleaning West Coast IPA, Good News Double IPA (Mac Miller Dedication), Bussin' Cool-Ade Inspired Hard Seltzer, and It's On Like DK! Smoothsicle Smoothie Sour. This was a great conversation - cheers! BAOS Podcast Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube | Website | Theme tune: Cee - BrewHeads

Tucker Pillsbury, better known as Role Model, has quickly become one of this year's breakout stars with a hit album and a sold-out solo tour. This summer, he'll be joining musician Gracie Abrams in arenas across North America. He sits down with Tom Power to tell us how homesickness inspired his latest album, “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye),” and how turning to Americana music helped him get back in touch with himself. If you enjoy this conversation, you might also like Tom's interview with Gracie Abrams or his chat with The 1975's Matty Healy.
If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it". En hoe hij na twintig keer nog steeds plat van het lachen ligt met de film 'The hangover'. The newest installment to my colors mix series. I first bought my first pair of turntables in 2010, making 2025 my fifteenth year as a DJ. I got my start in the DC club circuit playing a lot of Hip-Hop spots during the trap golden era. Wanted to revisit some old club classics and some forgotten gems from that period, and it's clear that I was running a lot of Drake and DS2 Future. Look out for part two of this special series. Episode 67 – Rex Kudo is one of the most influential producers in modern hip-hop. His big break came when he co-wrote/produced Post Malone's “White Iverson”, and from there, he's worked with Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Rocky, Juice WRLD, J. Cole, DJ Khaled, Skrillex, M.I.A., Mac Miller, Roddy Ricch, Future, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Trippie Redd, and has even produced alongside Rick Rubin. Lately, I've been spending more time with Rex, and I get the feeling he's becoming the next Rick Rubin. He's got this energy, this perspective on music and life that's just different. He's inspiring, community-driven, and one of the most genuinely good people in the game. But last month, he unfortunately lost his house and studio, burned down in the Pacific Palisades fires. Instead of letting it destroy him, he's kept moving forward with pure optimism for the future and realizing how lucky he already is. That really hit me. In this episode, we talk about his journey, his process, the hits, the lessons from working with legends, making new legends, and how he's pushing through one of the toughest moments of his life. Rex is one of those guys you just root for, and I'm stoked to share his story with you. Hope you dig this convo with the great Rex Kudo. ‘Go with Elmo Lovano' is a weekly podcast where Elmo interviews creatives and entrepreneurs in music on HOW they push forward every day, got where they are in their careers, manage their personal lives, and share lessons learned and their most important insights. Rory is still terrifying the hoes, but this time they scared him back when they informed him of his ‘Unc' status (2:09). Somehow, this leads us to learn an unfortunate fact about Mal - he's cool with kissing his play cousin as long as she's bad enough, and totally okay with Rory fucking after his funeral (26:08). But let's get to it - Dave Chappelle brought us into the Trump era with some jokes (47:19). Nelly & Soulja Boy are under fire for their performances at inauguration weekend, but we don't think they should be cancelled for it (51:50). We take a second to check in on Demaris' parents while she doubles down on her take (1:10:53), before getting into TikTok's temporary ban and how our President had a hand in it (1:19:39). Liangelo Ball is under fire for his first performance, and it forces the team to give Mal his flowers (1:48:27). While we're recording Joey Bada$$ drops his new song, ‘Sorry Not Sorry', and we give our live reaction, while debating where his shots were aimed (1:54:24). We also discuss Mac Miller's posthumous album making Rory cry (2:11:34), Method Man (allegedly) putting hands on his daughter's ex (2:35:14), our Superbowl predictions (2:39:38), + more! For MORE Rory & Mal, make sure you subscribe to our Patreon community, for exclusive episodes, first access to tickets and merch sales, private live chats with the team, + more! https://www.patreon.com/newrorynmalFollow Rory: @ThisIsRoryFollow MAL: @MAL_ByTheWayFollow Demaris: https://linktr.ee/demarisg To watch the podcast on YouTube: https://bit.ly/NewRoryAndMALYouTube Don't forget to follow the podcast for free wherever you're listening or by using this link: https://bit.ly/NewRoryAndMAL Learn more about your ad choices.
