Real life, real issues, REAL solutions!
Racial unrest and discontent towards law enforcement has reached a boiling point. Rev Kev sits down with Middletown (OH) Police Chief David Birk to discuss race, police and faith.
“People are not tired of God, they are just tired of how He is presented”. True or an excuse?
Can you live for God and have fun?
In Season 3, Rev Kev is sharing segments from his recently completed "Faithfully Funny" series on a Cincinnati based radio show. He is joined by his close friends, Hay J, who is a national comedian and T. Shores, who Rev. Kev co-pastors with at Church on the Rock in Middletown, Ohio. This discussion will focus on Church and Cultural Immersion. Real talk with a FLAVOR of comedy and spirituality.
Pray for opportunities to share your story. Look for opportunities to share your story.
Ask yourself, what inspires you to live on? Is it your faith? Is it family and friends? Is it to honor the memory of a loved one? Is it a goal that you have set? Whatever it is...find it and then use it to fuel your comeback!
Thunderstorms don't last always...a rainbow will show up eventually. That is something I kept reminding myself of during my times of trial and fire. As I sit back and examine those times in my life, I am able to pull out points of emphasis that helped me to navigate through these tough moments.
When the storms of life come your way, how do you survive?
People desire it. Others despise it. Many abuse it. Few develop it. Religion kills it. Ignorance ignores it. Work strains it. Fame distorts it. Women place high value on it. Men are slow to build it. Money competes with it. Marriages need it. What is “it”? A relationship with God. A person must go through a process of “emptying out” and healing from a lifestyle that kept them from embracing the truth of His love.
What do you do when the UNIMAGINABLE happens? The "unimaginable" could be a family tragedy, loss of a job, sudden illness, financial hardship or a broken relationship. As human beings, we automatically set up defense mechanisms to deal with such trauma.
Take a moment and think about your "UNIMAGINABLE". Some of you may be experiencing the effects of it right now. How are you responding?
With the new year beginning Rev Kev encourages you to move into ACTION!
We must shift our attention off of others and focus on our development and commitment to the faith and to God. We must learn how to submit to God’s authority and take the time to invest into our spiritual bank account.
Many people subconsciously weigh their involvement with the Church on the rise and fall of other believers. I have heard over and over the statement, “I cannot stand church people...they are hypocrites!” The fact of the matter is that we are all human and often times, our humanity will get in the way of our deity.
The pride of life, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes become a barrier to a Godly, disciplined lifestyle. Our perspective of this journey has become blurry. When difficulty arises, immediately our senses will lead many of us to believe that the blame should rest entirely upon the devil. I am well aware of the enemy’s devices; however, his power is limited. Have you ever struggled with discipline or procrastination?
I have been fortunate to be able to preach the word of God to many individuals. Their response to it has been interesting to say the least. More often than not, people embrace it. Unfortunately, their ability to master the enemies within leads them down a path of inconsistency, frustration and isolation. Mind renewal is the focus during this time. Without a proper mind renewal, we not be transformed nor maximize our potential as a follower of Christ.
