If you hired a chief of staff to be your leadership team's star athlete, don't let them languish on the bench. At many organizations, chiefs of staff are meant to execute high-wire strategic work. But the job is often reduced to: glorified project management, executive cat-herding, and catering to the CEO's whims. They compensate for bad work design through effort and influence, carrying big expectations with no real authority. In this episode, Rodney and guest co-host, Sam Rothkopf, lay out the first move toward becoming an organization built to benefit from change: Recharter your chief of staff as the leadership team's work designer. They dig into the three jobs most chiefs of staff currently hold; why the role should serve teams, not single leaders; and the authority they need to put business strategy into motion and free up executives to do the work only they can do. -------------------------------- Ready to change your organization? SUMMARY The current chapter of dad life is not the whole story. In part two of the DadAwesome Multipliers summer series, Jeff reads Chapter 2 of the DadAwesome book, The Tale of Two Thieves, and unpacks what a three dozen cookie dough heist taught him about choosing curiosity instead of reactivity. Then Phil Comer joins with a powerful clip on giving a blessing instead of returning evil for evil, and how one choice in a tense room trickles down for generations. This episode closes with clear reflection, multiplication, and activation steps you can take this week. Key Takeaways You are living into a multigenerational story, and this chapter is only a tiny slice of it. Curiosity opens doors. Reactivity closes them. You cannot eliminate chaos, but you can shape how it unfolds. Stones of remembrance are about keeping the stories alive, not preserving the reminders. Giving a blessing when you have received a criticism changes the atmosphere of a room. Action Steps REFLECTION Look back at the chaos. When curveballs hit recently, were you reacting or responding? Were you making assumptions or staying curious and asking God what He wanted to teach you in that moment? Open your phone and look back at the last month. Scroll your photos, scroll your calendar. Where has God shown up that you have not paused long enough to call to mind? Ask the honest question. If your kids described the atmosphere you carry into the room right now, would tenderness make the list? Would softness? Would kindness? MULTIPLICATION Send the text. Reach out to seven or eight dads and invite them to journey with you through the end of August. If two or three say yes, you have moved from addition to multiplication. Pick your gathering. A text thread, a campfire, a boat, a camping trip with your kids. Make one specific invite this week. Carry a copy. Keep an extra DadAwesome book in your vehicle or your laptop bag and look for the moment to hand it to a dad and tell him you see him being awesome. ACTIVATION Start a family remembrance list. Sit down together, scroll photos and your calendar, and capture the answered prayers, the provision, the goodness, the moments God showed up. Let every kid contribute. Tell the stories out loud. At the dinner table or at bedtime, tell your kids one story of God's faithfulness in your family. Flip the switch this week. The next time a curveball comes, choose curiosity first. Laugh at the moment. Show your kids that dad is anchored and steady, not thrown off. Most of us picture democracy being decided on Election Day. Hannah Fried spends her life on the part nobody watches — the quiet, local decisions made months and years before a single ballot is cast.Hannah is co-founder and CEO of All Voting Is Local, a national nonprofit working year-round in eight states to remove voting barriers for Black, Brown, and Native American communities. She and her co-founder spent years saying "somebody should start an organization" focused on the local officials quietly deciding how elections run — then realized they were the somebody. They built it from her kitchen table with no money, got incubated by The Leadership Conference, and went independent in 2022.In this episode, you'll hear:Why the decisions that make or break your right to vote — where polling places go, what hours they're open, how vote-by-mail works — get made by local officials long before any ballot is castThe playbook for turning one county-level win into a national conversation — and why story is the engine that does itWhy "it's never too late to get involved" is more than a platitude, plus the concrete ways any person can plug in this yearIf you've ever wondered whether slow, local, unglamorous, years-in-the-making work actually adds up — this conversation is your answer.
Steve says the newest revelations about American election integrity presented by President Trump last week don't mean anything, unless the Department of Justice steps up. Then, Dr. Ben Whalen of Hillsdale College joins the program to discuss the real "Odyssey" and why Homer is foundational to Western scholastic tradition. In Hour Two, Fake News or Not reacts to a post written by Steve that ruffled feathers over the weekend. Pop Culture Tuesday is Steve's review of Nolan's "The Odyssey." On this episode of the MalloryBros. Podcast, the bros kick things off with the Weekend Recap before reacting to the overwhelming demand for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey as IMAX tickets sell out almost instantly. That leads into a conversation about whether the IMAX experience is worth missing the early online discussion surrounding a film. They also talk about Spain's World Cup victory, the recent parasite scare causing people to rethink fresh produce, and share their theories for I Am Legend 2. Later, the bros discuss Post Malone's potential return to Rap and why its not connecting with them. They then, ask whether DJ Khaled can still be successful in today's music landscape, which leads to a discussion about the inevitable Fall Off J Cole referred to months ago via his album. Terrance has an interesting Course of Action, they give reactions to Instagram's controversial new AI feature which leads to another spirited conversation about the dangers of AI. There's a conversation about Nissan discontinuing the Altima, thoughts on Drake and Sexyy Red's relationship, and wraps with a discussion about Future earning another No. 1 album and if charting is losing its acclaim as the way people consume and celebrate artists change. In this emotional and critical segment from The Tara Show, host Tara Servatius mourns the tragic loss of three U.S. service members killed in the Middle East, including a 19-year-old private. Servatius forcefully criticizes the administration's foreign policy choices—specifically targeting JD Vance's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Iran, the lifting of maritime blockades, and the easing of oil sanctions. She contends that these concessions allowed Iran and Chinese-backed interests to rearm and execute targeted strikes against American forces. Highlighting comments from Representative Riley Moore regarding reports of Chinese and Russian satellite targeting support for Iran, Servatius demands an immediate, uncompromising stance against foreign adversaries and urges an end to diplomatic concessions that put American service members at risk.

The higher we climb as leaders, the easier we expect decisions to become. Yet, the opposite is often true. Bigger responsibilities bring greater complexity, higher stakes, and more uncertainty. The strongest leaders aren't the ones who always know the right answer. They're the ones who have the courage to move forward without waiting for perfect certainty. In this episode, we unpack the questions that surface most often when leaders are faced with difficult decisions. We explore why fear can disguise itself as caution, how pressure quietly changes the way we think, when to trust data, intuition, and values, and why the quality of our decision-making process matters more than chasing perfect outcomes. Along the way, we're reminded that every decision becomes an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen trust, and grow into the kind of leader others are willing to follow, even when the path ahead isn't perfectly clear.Key Takeaways:Confidence Isn't the Starting Point – Why waiting to feel ready may be the very thing holding leaders back. The Process Behind Every Great Decision – Discover how a clear approach creates confidence when certainty isn't possible. The Cost of Waiting – See why the decisions we avoid often shape our teams more than the ones we make. When the Numbers Aren't Enough – How experienced leaders navigate the space between data, instinct, and values. What Every Tough Decision Leaves Behind – What happens after a decision often matters just as much as the decision itself.Resources MentionedThe Inspire Your Team to Greatness assessment (the Courage Assessment) - In less than 10 minutes, find out where you're empowering and inadvertently kills productivity, and get a custom report that will tell you step by step what you need to have your team get more done. Send me a messageSupply-chain mapping can now take five seconds. The harder problem is deciding which supplier risks matter, who owns the response, and whether procurement can act before the data creates paralysis.I'm joined by Justin Dillon, founder and CEO of FRDM, whose work focuses on human-rights, geopolitical and sustainability risk beyond tier one. As import restrictions, tariffs and customer requirements reach deeper into supplier networks, weak due diligence is no longer just a compliance problem; it can interrupt supply, delay sourcing decisions and expose the business. We challenge the assumption that full supply-chain visibility is necessarily expensive or difficult, examine why supplier surveys are starting to resemble fax machines, and look at what happens when companies suddenly receive more risk intelligence than their teams can absorb. We also discuss where AI in supply chain genuinely helps—and why technology still cannot decide which supplier conversation needs to happen next.Listen now to understand why finding supplier risk is becoming easier, while turning that intelligence into faster, more defensible procurement decisions remains the real test.Support the showPodcast supportersI'd like to sincerely thank this podcast's generous Subscribers:Alicia FaragKieran OgnevGary LynchAnd remember you too can become a Resilient Supply Chain+ subscriber - it is really easy and hugely important as it will enable me to continue to create more excellent episodes like this one and give you access to bonus episodes of topical, timely supply chain resilience analysis.

What happens when a believer remains faithful to the gospel in places where few are willing to go? In this episode, we explore Christ's command to “beware of the leaven” through the life of missionary Samuel Zwemer, widely known as the “Apostle to Islam.” Driven by a deep love for Christ, Zwemer devoted his life to bringing the gospel to the Muslim world. Through years of sacrifice, suffering, bold witness, and unwavering commitment to biblical truth, he demonstrated the importance of keeping Christ preeminent and resisting the subtle errors that can draw believers away from the gospel. As we reflect on his legacy, we are encouraged to remain grounded in God's Word, centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ, and faithful to His calling wherever He leads us. Today with Robin J. Emdon: You left the customer's house and told them you'd have the quote to them by tomorrow. Then the installer had a question. Then the admin had a question. Then another customer called about a new job. And three days later, that quote still isn't written, and you're the one who feels guilty about it. Here's the truth Robin J. Emdon wants you to sit with: this isn't a discipline problem. Robin is the creator of GetResultsology®, The Science of Getting Stuff Done, known as The Procrastination Slayer and The Momentum Architect. After realizing in 2019 that procrastination had cost him years of his own life, a six year degree that took him ten, Robin spent the shutdown of 2020 doing what he does best: researching the research on neuroscience and behavioral psychology. What he found is that capable, competent people procrastinate for a hardwired, biological reason, not because they're lazy or disorganized. In this conversation, Robin breaks down the three neurotransmitters driving whether you follow through or freeze, and gives the research behind why accountability works: a private, unwritten goal gets done about 46 percent of the time, but add writing it down and real human accountability, and that number jumps to 76 percent. LuAnn connects that research directly to a practice built into every Exciting Windows conference, where members publicly commit to a six month goal, write it on a postcard, and get held to it when the next conference opens. If a quote, a pricing review, or a piece of your marketing has been sitting for longer than you'd like to admit, this episode gives you the actual mechanism behind why, and what to do about it starting this week. Emdon is the creator of GetResultsology® – The Science of Getting Stuff Done!, a practical, science-backed system that helps solopreneurs, creatives, and independent professionals overcome procrastination, build momentum, and follow through on the work that truly moves the needle. Nicknamed The Procrastination Slayer and The Momentum Architect, Robin has supported clients across the full spectrum of productivity challenges — from those paralysed at the starting line to high-performers seeking more clarity and speed. Robin's path began in his family's retail business, followed by life coach training in California in 2001. While raising two sons as a full-time single dad in South Devon, coaching took a back seat — until a turning point in 2019, when he realised how deeply procrastination had stalled his own goals. A six-year degree had taken him ten. When the world went quiet in 2020, Robin immersed himself in neuroscience, behavioural psychology, and productivity research. Out of that came GetResultsology® and his signature momentum formula: Do it today – Profit tomorrow – Repeat. Robin now helps clients worldwide turn daily action into meaningful progress and attainable success — all from his quiet corner on England's southwest coast. Connect with Robin J. In this ID Health Matters podcast episode, David Toback discusses how to put person-centered thinking into daily practice when supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He emphasizes that person-centered support means seeing individuals as whole people rather than focusing only on diagnoses, and describes several practical tools: the Learning Log, which captures meaningful observations about what worked and did not work during everyday experiences; the Two-Minute Drill, a simple technique for encouraging participation and generating ideas in meetings and conversations; and Branching Conversations, which use curiosity and thoughtful follow-up questions to better understand what matters to a person. Toback also stresses the importance of "guess, ask, write" — avoiding assumptions, verifying understanding with the individual, and documenting their intentions rather than staff interpretations. Throughout the discussion, he highlights that listening first, acting with people rather than upon them, and ensuring their voices are heard can improve relationships, quality of life, and support outcomes while promoting dignity, inclusion, and genuine human connection.
Welcome to the award-winning FCPA Compliance Report, the longest-running podcast in compliance. In this episode, Tom welcomes back Matt Ellis to discuss a newly announced FCPA enforcement action involving Scoular Company. The case invoiced about $400,000 in payments labeled as “reinspection fees” to Mexican customs and food inspectors to move agricultural goods across the Mexico–U.S. border. border, allegedly generating over $6.5 million in avoided costs and raising concerns about cartel-linked beneficiaries. They discuss why customs and customs brokers are recurring high-risk areas in Mexico, how long-running employee involvement suggests broader controls and tone-from-the-top failures, and why these payments are not facilitation payments under Mexican law and given discretionary official acts. Ellis emphasizes analytics on customs documents and broker invoices, stronger third-party diligence beyond traditional screening to address cartel/TCO risks, and defensible governance for WhatsApp/off-channel communications. Despite no voluntary self-disclosure, the company received cooperation credit and a 25% fine reduction, and Ellis previews an ACI conference focused on cartels, TCOs, and compliance in Latin America. Emmy-nominated stunt coordinator and performer Victor Paguia joins No Film School's GG Hawkins to explain how action sequences are designed around character, story, safety, and production realities. Drawing on more than two decades of experience—including his work on I Am Legend, Zombieland, and CBS's FBI—Paguia discusses breaking into the stunt industry, developing distinct fighting styles for characters, creating ambitious television action on an eight-day prep schedule, and using previsualization to make sequences safer and more effective. He also shares practical advice for independent filmmakers staging action with limited time and resources. In this episode, No Film School's GG Hawkins and guest Victor Paguia discuss... How competitive diving prepared Paguia to perform under pressure Crashing the callback that led to his first stunt job on I Am Legend Why effective stunt work must serve the story rather than spectacle Finding the line between exciting action and physically unbelievable action Developing a shared movement language for zombies and other creatures Why fast zombies are more intimidating—and more enjoyable to perform Building action around the established strengths of a character Giving the agents on FBI distinct fighting styles based on personality and physicality Keeping fights, chases, and takedowns fresh across multiple seasons The differences between preparing action for a feature film and a network television series Choreographing and teaching fights to actors while filming on a tight schedule Why filmmakers should slow down instead of rushing on set How stunt doubles help actors learn choreography and improve their performances Using an iPhone to previs camera angles, movement, costumes, and choreography How smaller camera systems have expanded the possibilities for action photography Monitoring multi-camera stunt sequences when playback is unavailable Why micro-budget filmmakers should design action within their actual resources The driving, fighting, falling, and wire-work skills aspiring stunt performers should develop How collaboration between departments creates memorable action Memorable Quotes: “Telling the story of the movie is more important than performing the action.” “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast—and wear sunscreen.” “Stunt doubles aren't just there to perform the action instead of the actor. In football, an elusive running back can make the other team's defense look foolish as he constantly slips from their grasp. The defense must pursue the runner, lay a hold of him, and tenaciously hold fast until they tackle him. In the Christian life, genuine goodness can be very elusive and difficult to maintain. We must learn to continually reject sin and evil and cling tenaciously to what is good in order to grow in our relationship with the Lord. What separates the business acquisition mentees who succeed from those who struggle? It is rarely intelligence, education, experience, or access to money. More often, it is the ability to turn motivation into discipline and discipline into focused, consistent action. In this episode, I explain why knowing what to do is not enough. I discuss the importance of taking meaningful action even when you do not feel motivated, evaluating what is and is not working, learning from others, and continuously improving your acquisition process. Consistent, disciplined action may not produce an immediate result, but it will normally outperform occasional bursts of tremendous effort. This principle is the foundation of the Bruce Whipple MDA: Motivation, Discipline, Action course. To Your Success, Bruce

Trump just dropped a bombshell you need to see before the media buries it. China stole voter registration data from 220 million Americans — and the deep state knew. This isn't some abstract foreign policy story. China quietly vacuumed up names, addresses, phone numbers, and party preferences from more than two-thirds of the country. Trump called it the largest compromise of election data in history, and the intelligence community actively suppressed the details so the American people — and the president — wouldn't find out. That is a direct threat to every election going forward and a clear signal that China is not a competitor. China is the enemy. Regular Americans who still believe we can just trade our way out of this problem need to understand what "nefarious activities" with that kind of data actually look like. Election security, national sovereignty, and basic trust in the system are all on the line. This week, we're bringing you a conversation that Tristan Harris had with Krista Tippett. Krista is the Peabody Award-winning host of the On Being podcast, where she explores spiritual inquiry, science, social healing, and poetry, and the wisdom that we need to replenish and orient in this tender and tumultuous time. Krista and Tristan spoke remotely in front of a crowd while she was in person at the Wisdom in Action forum in Australia. Their discussion was focused on trust in the age of AI and explored big, critical questions like what does it mean to build AI in service of life? How can we hold a collective problem this big as individuals? And what does it take to resist the spell of inevitability? We hope you enjoy this thought-provoking conversation. Your Undivided Attention will be taking a short summer hiatus. We'll be back with more episodes soon! Your Undivided Attention is produced by Center for Humane Technology. Longtime listeners of The Remnant know well Jonah Goldberg's hatred of the extremist, oligarchic, necromantic political conclaves holding our nation hostage, otherwise known as primaries. Nonetheless, listeners are left with many questions unanswered: How did populists seize the GOP in 2016? What should replace primaries for candidate selection? What will go down in 2028? Will Yuval Levin be on the ticket? Here to put an end to all speculation is political scientist Seth Masket, who joins Jonah to talk about the Tea Party, Donald Trump's charisma, Bill Clinton as a precursor to Trump, primaries, county-scale politics, party leadership, democratization, conventions, Trump's influence over 2028, the next GOP presidential candidate, J.D. Vance, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment.
