So we're looking for a new house. And every single day we're checking listings, waiting, hoping, kiiiiinda getting frustrated why our house isn't showing up yet. Come on world, we're ready. Where's our place? Send it our way. But I realized that I'm not doing a very good job of showing the universe I'm ready for this place to come into my life. Even if the most perfect place appeared on the market today, I wouldn't be in the position to take action. There’s a few finishing touches to take care of, clutter to get rid of, a mortgage to pre-approve... Basically, I haven’t proven myself READY to make this happen. I see a lot of businesses in the same position You set up a page and you’re like k, send me traffic! Send me leads! Send me customers! And it’s reaaaaaaally frustrating when you realize that nobody's coming - but maybe you haven’t held up your end of the bargain. Like, maybe you have an opt in set up. BUT... you don’t have an email campaign on the backend to make the most of those leads. You could have all the traffic in the world, but it won’t help you much if you aren’t prepared to do anything with those fresh leads! It's not like things need to be perfect, but you just have to have the baseline established. So when things come your way, you're ready. You can just jump on it. This is the perfect wave, right? When the wave comes, you're ready to ride it. So when things aren't going your way and you're wondering why aren't people buying or why aren't people joining or whatever it is, take a step back and see. Are you ready for it? What can you do in order to stack the deck in your favor? What micro-opportunities can you make the most of? Show the universe you’re ready - REALLY ready - and magic starts to happen.
THE WORST. Your big launch… The one you had all of your hopes pinned on… Is an EPIC Titanic-level flop. First of all, I know what you're feeling - and I know how painful it is. Hand on heart, I get you a million percent. And you're allowed to feel the feels. You’re also allowed to the that pain go. Once you’ve gone through the 7 stages of grief, it’s time to ask yourself honestly… What did you learn from the flop? Because every time something fails, we learn. When we have success we learn what works - but we also don't learn how to get better. We just stay in the comfort zone. Failure pushes us forward. And it's not like failure is the opposite of success, it’s actually PART of success. This is your chance to step back and take stock of these lessons that wouldn't have come up otherwise. If you hadn't launched, if you hadn't put something out there, you would have never had the opportunity to have these lessons that will make you better for next time. One thing you can do… Send out a survey to the people asking why they didn't buy. And you're probably going to get a lot of things like, "It's too expensive," "It's not the right time," or something like that… But you're also going to get deeper insights. Look for the people who are giving you longer, more in-depth responses - because they are the ones taking the time to talk about it. Feeling extra brave? Ask if they’ll jump on a quick call with ya. You can really get to the root of what stopped them from buying, and also bounce ideas off them and get IMMEDIATE response whether they think it’s worth pursuing or not.
Wouldn't it be great to KNOW a landing page will convert? And I’m talking before you pay for every dang click with ads! Here is one of my fav (free!) ways to test it out. >> Share your new landing page everywhere
Sometimes it feels like there’s ENDLESS things to do when running a biz. Checklists grow longer no matter how many things you tick off. There’s no ‘9-5’ hours to contain things. It's easy to get wrapped up feeling like you've got to do it ALL- and you can't move forward until you have errrrrything done. Do you feel it? I sure do. And it’s a nasty recipe for overwhelm. So when I’m feelin’ it, I ask myself this one question…. “What am I willing to let go of right now?” I love this question because it acknowledges that you are CHOOSING not to do things. It honors the fact you aren’t forgetting something, you’re making a respectable choice. This is a conscious decision to let some things go and not do the most optimized version, just for the sake of getting things done. Your dream customers are waiting for whatever you're trying to get out into the world, and they're gonna get results better if it's actually available! You can always go back and improve things later. Getting a live, working version out into the world is 100% better than staying stuck. So tell me in the comments what you’re willing to let go of right now ❤️
No matter how well you know your dream customer… During a launch there will be things that come up you would have never even imagined. Unless you are doing the exact same launch at the exact same time of year to the exact same people, you’ll likely end up uncovering sneaky hidden objections which seriously block you/ This is why it's so important to understand how to write copy and overcome objections on the fly. Because let’s face it - even if you hired a copywriter, by the time you launch their work is done. They’re gone. Their contract is done and dusted. You can't go back and say, "Hey, all these other objections came up. What do I do now?" It’s up to you! It’s your product. It’s your launch. It’s you and your team who’ll be there to step up to the plate. Sale page, ads, emails, Facebook Lives… you need to make changes on the fly to your launch copy to make the sale. This is why copy is one of the most critically important skills for any business owner to learn, regardless of whether or not you are outsourcing it or not. Those mad skills come in handy when going after the sales numbers you want!
Helloooo, any perfectionists in the house? *Slowly raises hand*
You know those people who tell draggy, meandering stories that have you going "Just get to the freaking point already!" The same thing can happen on a sales page - and can be a BIG reason you’re losing conversions. From the time someone clicks “Buy Now” on the sales page… To the final button on the checkout page… This process can be a huuuuge ‘leaky bucket’ where you’re losing sales. And the more steps / clicks / pages you have, the bigger the chance someone’s going to talk themselves out of it. (Or just get stuck along the way!) So take a good hard look at how you can get them through the checkout process faster. If you can speed them through in 5 clicks instead of 8, your conversion rate’s going to spike. You might even have to look into the shopping cart system. They’re all slightly different, so you may need to “shop around” (pun intended!) to find one that works better for ya. Go through your entire purchase process yourself and look for those leaks, plug them up, and watch your conversion rate jump!
What if you could bring in thousands of dollars - without a complicated email campaign, sales page, or even a product? This is the beauty of the Single Post Launch. Now, all of these things work incredibly well when you get to a stage where you have a proven product and you know it works. THIS is the time that you need all those pieces - and it’s essential to scale. But when you’re first starting out, that’s not what you should focus on. It costs time, money, sanity, and waaaaaay too many cups of coffee. If you’re just starting out, the ONLY thing you need to do is to prove your product with money on the table. The Single Post Launch is something you can do on whatever platform you’re on. Facebook, Instagram YouTube, email - you name it, you can do it! Just show up where you normally do, and use this post to kick off your launch. Get an example of the Single Post Launch and free training on how to do it by going to smashhitsales.com/sweet
Ever had a ‘Facebook memory’ come up - and you don’t even remember BEING there? (Plz say it’s not just me!!) Well, just think about how much data Facebook has about you… And how crazy powerful that is for marketing. I'm sure that you've heard a million times that Facebook is one of the greatest advertising platforms ever - and it's true. When you think about it in terms of getting leads it is absolutely one of the most powerful platforms out there. So, think about Facebook and ALL that it knows - versus something like Twitter. Twitter has really surface level information. It has your handle, it knows your name, it has some information about tweets - but it scrapes the surface compared to what Facebook has. So where your leads come from makes a HUGE difference, because you’re either pulling from a pool of deep data or just skimming the surface. The deeper the data, the more leads you can get that match your ideal buyer profile. When your Facebook targeting is on point, it’s practically guaranteed you’ll reach the right people. Twitter and other ‘surface level’ platforms? Not so much. You might get cheaper leads here, but they’re not going to convert… and can be a lot more expensive in the long run when you have to start over searching for more valuable leads.
How can you spot a buyer? It's actually easier than you might think. I know, it's kind of like having a crystal ball and seeing who is going to actually become a customer as opposed to just a subscriber, a follower, someone in your audience. Well, look for the people who are binge-consuming everything you've got. Those are the people who are most likely going to buy, because they want everything you're putting out there. Look at your subscribers and see who has downloaded multiple lead magnets. Those are the people that are about to buy from you - especially if it’s in a super short, recent timeframe. Of course, there's the occasional people who just want the freebies... But most of the time, binge consumers are desperate for the next step and they're getting their hands on everything that they can. They're scrambling to get more from you, and just waiting to buy. So that's why it's great to have multiple lead magnets to give people the chance to interact with you on a deeper level - and give you a really good gauge of who's going to become a customer.
I opened cart on a launch - and boarded a 6 hour flight to Portugal. What the heck was I thinking?! Actually, traveling while launching has some cons… AND pros. But I wouldn’t always recommend it. You gotta have the right things in place before you try this. In this episode I share my unusual, super chill launch strategy… How I got a TON of future-customer info… that powered the launch itself Why I made the videos the way I did (NOT typical launch vids) What is my must-have for ANY launch - thank freakin’ goodness for my ride-or-dies at PFS I hope it normalizes launches, and helps you see you can launch “your way”
If you are a service provider and you end up getting a ton of people who are CLOSE - but not quite RIGHT - for what you offer… Or you sell products and end up doing refunds because you know people who purchase aren't ready for what you offer… This is a really easy way for you to cut down all that. I love to use a quiz where people can self-select whether they are right or just not there. So that way, they don't get to the point where they end up taking all your time and going back and forth seeing whether or not you guys are a right fit, or somebody purchases and then you have to refund - because all of that stuff is really mentally draining, takes time, money. A quiz is a great way for someone to see if they are at the right stage to go to the next step, whether that’s working with you directly or purchasing your products. And it doesn't have to be tricky. There are great quiz platforms out there, but you don't have to go that fancy. On my own work with me page, I ask 4 questions. If someone answers “yes” to all 4, there’s a good chance they’re ready to work with me. This is a fabulous way to give people the chance to make the decision themselves whether they are ready for the next step, so neither of you waste time. So give this a try on your own page, look for ways that you can help people self-select to see if they are ready to take the next step with you!
Honesty, no matter HOW successful you are, imposter syndrome gremlins can steal your confidence and joy… Plus it can lead to chronic undercharging + overworking. Not a recipe for success, my friends! Here’s a way to turn down the volume of the hater in your head so you get on with life (and business)
