In part two of our introductory episode, we discuss the "Hero" and "Sage" archetypes, as we intend to define and discuss them. The idea of the “Sage” is that knowledge is important in certain ways, but ultimately it is the ability to make wise use of what we know that is actually desired when pursuing meaning. The “hero” archetype encapsulates and permeates the entire life project of reaching for and creating a meaningful life; it relates to the ways in which we face our finite time in life. It speaks to what we do with the question “How to face death”? Time is our most precious resource, and facing our demise, and that of the ones we love, gives rise to all sorts of psychological difficulties. How to deal with this?
Second section of our conversation with Lt. Col. Beau Stricklin, where we touch on Military Leadership, fun stories and lessons from Basic training, mentoring youth who have gotten in trouble with the law, and other general life topics.
Introducing the first two archetypes (Warrior & Poet), along with a cursory definition a couple of initial ideas related to each.
