WCHS: the Gleaner Podcast

In this podcast, we interview two seniors, Ellie and Johnny, and two freshmen, Grace and Keaton, to gain insight on their experience at Wahlert. We talk about the class differences and how this has affected their years.

For the third and final part of the sportscasts miniseries, host William Herbst, ‘23, invites on Nick Pierro, ‘23, talk about baseball and MLB. Highlighting the impact of the coronavirus in the midst of the season, along with discussing other details about baseball.

On part two of his miniseries, host William Herbst, ‘23, invites Michael Spahn, to discuss all things football and NFL. From the big news of Brady’s transfer, to predictions on next season’s Super Bowl, they got it all covered.

On episode one of his mini series of sportscasts, host William Herbst, ‘23, discusses basketball and the NBA with classmate and friend Joe Mai, ‘23. They talk about how NBA teams were doing before the coronavirus, and what the future of the league could look like.

On a special episode of the pod, host Alejandro is joined by friend and collaborator Noah Burns, an up and coming musician. The pair discuss Noah’s music activities, along with his future in it. Enjoy!

After a prolonged absence, William is back for another episode of the pod. He and host Alejandro look at everything happening at Wahlert in the near future and beyond.

In this follow up episode to the first, the same cast of people return for another round of political discussion. Join host Alejandro and special guest/co-host Emily Kasal, ‘20, along with panelists Avery Fair, Luke Simcox and Nick Nachtman, ‘20, as once more delve into the complex issues facing young adults by offering their thoughts and opinions.

A special bonus episode this week, with host Alejandro bringing on a host of talent for a mini politics discussion: Nick Nachtman, Avery Fair and Luke Simcox, ‘20. Along with special guest and co-host Emily Kasal, ‘20, the group tackles a range of political issues. They view each topic from the lens of a young adult, providing commentary on it’s effects on teens, while also discussing solutions. Enjoy this different, but enlightening, bonus episode!

In episode six, Alejandro is joined once more by Maddie Roling, ‘20, along with Libby Sigwarth and Sophie Skemp, ‘21. They talk about everything from theater to having jobs.

In episode five, Alejandro sits down with special guest Lola Grapp, ‘21, for a discussion on everything from the crazy weather to her upcoming bowling season. Check it out!

A bonus episode in celebration of Halloween, Alejandro sits down with special guest Mr. Cole Smith, Wahlert social studies teacher and coach. Smith recounts a couple of his Halloween stories, from the creepy lady with the weird "treats," to why you should listen to the "Take one" signs. Enjoy!

For this week's episode, William Herbst takes over and invites four senior football players after their last game of the season: Marik Dickson, Lucas Topping, Bennett Cutsforth and William Hoffman, '20. The groups recounts some of their highlights from playing football, from freshman year to now.

For episode three, Alejandro is joined by three new guests: Maddie Roling, ‘20, Jamie Vondra and Tess Breslin, ‘22. The four look ahead at a week full of excitement for the Gleaner, plus the other events of the week.
