Quintet Attacca joins us under the Tiffany dome in Preston Bradley Hall of the Chicago Cultural Center in a program of: Ewszen, Márquez, Piazzolla and D’Rivera. Founded in 1999 Quintet Attacca took the Grand Prize and Wind Division Gold Medal in the 2002 national Fischoff Competition. They were only one of two wind quintet in the 40 year history of the competition. The quintet then became the Chicago Chamber Musician’s Professional Development Ensemble from 2006-2009. They are currently in residence at the Music Institute of Chicago. They offer a very diverse repertoire ranging from traditional to contemporary that includes not only selections from the Classical and Romantic eras, but jazz and Latin influenced works as well. The quintet is also passionate about supporting young musicians through education and performance. Through their outreach, they have served hundreds of schools and reached thousands of children. Quintet Attacca consists of : Jennifer Clipper, flute; Erica Anderson, oboe; Barbara Drapcho, clarinet; Collin Anderson, bassoon; and Jeremiah Frederick, horn.
