Round Table Discussion with Glenn Boothe and Michael Verlatti

Welcome to the first round table discussion of the podcast! On this episode we welcome back Glenn Boothe along with first time guest Michael Verlatti. These two worked together to put together a group few months ago they called "Disrupted". This was to help those within their network help reinvent themselves as many people in the industry Michael was part of were laid off due to coronavirus. In this 8 week course we worked together to become content creators. This was to help each other begin to develop our personal brand. I was fortunate to be part of the inaugural class and got so much from it. Since then, they are working on launching the second course for those that are interested in either beginning to create content or to put some power behind what they are already doing. I was excited to share their story on how they have helped those in the community change how they look at themselves. If you have an interest in learning more and are committed to the created content, I would highly suggest reaching out and trying to grab a spot in their upcoming class!

Josh Giebel And The Twelve Under Story

Let's welcome Josh Giebel to the podcast for episode 4. In this episode we hope to provide you with some entertaining banter and some positive stories about how we take an idea and execute on it. You may think as you listen to this, does this Josh guy actually have a job? And trust me, I think that a lot too. However, he is actually a very successful leader for Ally bank, where he leads his team to become more innovative in how they analyze data around vehicle evaluations. You will most likely come to understand we spend WAY TOO MUCH time together, but its not all wasted. We really do bring out the best (sometimes the worst) in each other. Especially from a creative side. Twelve Under is more like a lifestyle brand that takes what many people would think are insane and executes on them. These range from painting custom art, to building badass custom arcade games and now is onto building out multiple mountain bikes. So how do we find time to give back to this AWESOME city of CHARLOTTE. We take one of these ideas and work along a great non-profit like Thompson Child & family focus to build out an arcade game for some very underprivileged kids. I hope that you will be entertainined and maybe inspired. Go out and try something new. You may just surprise yourself.

Justin Ellis from THOMPSON Child & Family Focus

Welcome to episode 3 of the What's up Charlotte podcast. I am so excited to have Justin Ellis from Thompson Child & Family Focus. Please Don't hold it against Justin, he talks down about Charlotte sports. He may or may not be a New England Patriots fan. Once you look past that, you will get to hear what amazing things he and Thomposon's are doing for this community. Thompson's is a leading provider of clinical and prevention services for children and families across the Carolinas. They have some of the best programs that I have heard of, but what really amazes me is how Will Jones their President has run that organization like a business not a non-profit. It has really allowed them to increase their reach and drive more opportunities for them to help these families. I am also excited to talk about what I am doing with them to provide these children a little bit of "old school" fun! They deserve to be kids in a world that has given them no opportunities to have the same experiences most kids get to have. If you like what you hear and want to get involved. go on their website www.thompsoncff.org. I can promise you that you will get so much out of what you can do for these kids and families.
