Based on FREEMUSE 2020 report 978 acts of violations of artistic freedom took place in 89 countries and online spaces. 17 artists were killed, 82 were imprisoned and 133 detained. Gaurav Narula from the WOMEX team speaks with Srirak Plipat, executive director of FREEMUSE (Freedom of musical expression) an international NGO advocating freedom of expression for artists and musicians worldwide, documenting violations of their rights to freedom of expression, and offers support and assistance to persecuted musicians.
