Play Episode Listen Later Feb 14, 2020 17:02

In today's episode of Parent 2 Podcaster. We create a top five list of our favorite parts of podcasting. These are the reasons that keep us coming back. They may be some of the reasons you’ll want to jump into doing a podcast too. Points of note from our conversation: Time Together - The podcast gives us an excuse to carve out time to spend talking and planning. Personal growth - the skills that we have learned as part of the show are things we can apply in other areas of out lives. A big flag in the sand - Poscasting has given each of us a chance to reflect on how we represent ourselves. It also offers us a platform to change that image. Community - We have become part of a lively community by podcasting. Some of the relationships have grown into collaborations. A reason to talk to experts - If nothing else podcasting has opened doors for unique interactions. Want more? Check out all of his work at https://www.danielelwood.com Points of note from our conversation: Consistency matters. Make sure that you create enough content to release episodes on a consistent schedule so your audience can count on you. You may need to bank episodes for life events (vacations, illnesses.) Work with your support system. Podcasting does require some time and focus. Plan ways to give yourself that space. It's all part of the journey. You may find your show or your self changing as time passes. It's okay to create the show as it is today and change things as you go along.
