Aviator make clothing and accessories with style and function for the travel lifestyle. In 2006 Colby launched an American Heritage Collection for men that was made 100% in the USA. We sold to many of the top stores including: Fred Segal, Ron Herman, Kitson, Saks Fifth Avenue, Atrium, Amazon, and many more...In 2013, Colby decided to change direction and launch, Aviator, a contemporary travel sportswear collection for people on the go. The plan was to make this change by launching my first piece in the collection via Kickstarter. In the summer of 2013, the Red Eye Hoodie Project ran a 30-day campaign on Kickstarter and raised $130,000 in pre-orders. In the last year, Colby has raised $250,000 on three successful campaigns all while building my direct to consumer business model. Stay up to date with Colby:Website - https://aviatorusa.com/LinkedIn -https://www.linkedin.com/in/colby-kane-8198a110/AviatorUSA Facebook - http://facebook.com/aviatorusaTwitter: http://twitter.com/aviatorusa

A Usable Past: American Folk Art at the Colby College Museum of Art (Colby College Museum of Art, 2016) is a contemporary analysis of paintings, works on paper, sculptures, needlework, quilts and other forms of folk art drawn primarily from the college’s American Heritage Collection donated by Edith Kemper and Ellerton Marcel Jette. Essays by contributors Lauren Lessing, Seth A. Thayer, Jr., Elizabeth Finch and Tanya Sheehan offer new insights into the definition and display of folk art. How should folk art fit into constructions of the American past and understandings of American Art? Individual entries detail the rich history of a variety of 19th Century American folk art objects from young women’s so-called accomplishment needlework pieces to portraiture and landscape painting by self-trained artists. Kirstin L. Ellsworth has a Ph.D. in the History of Art from Indiana University (2005) and currently is an Assistant Professor of Art History at California State University Dominguez Hills.
