After cranking open the dome’s shutter to reveal the clear blue sky, he pointed his brass telescope toward the sun and began to sketch a cluster of enormous dark spots that freckled its surface. Suddenly, Carrington spotted what he described as “two patches of intensely bright and white light” erupting from the sunspots. Five minutes later the fireballs vanished, but within hours their impact would be felt across the globe. That night, telegraph communications around the world began to fail; there were reports of sparks showering from telegraph machines, shocking operators and setting papers ablaze. All over the planet, colorful auroras illuminated the nighttime skies, glowing so brightly that birds began to chirp and laborers started their daily chores, believing the sun had begun rising. Some thought the end of the world was at hand, but Carrington’s naked eyes had spotted the true cause for the bizarre happenings: a massive solar flare with the energy of 10 billion atomic bombs. The flare spewed electrified gas and subatomic particles toward Earth, and the resulting geomagnetic storm—dubbed the “Carrington Event”—was the largest on record to have struck the planet. ॐ Intended For Promo Use Only. Based upon podcast 2005-03-22. Now back online after almost 4 years. This post: the instrumental version in HiFi stereo @ higher bitrate 192Kbps. Don't you just love the sound? Some details about this mix (though there's no actual tracklist available anymore). We can hear Databloem music as well as netlabel releases. Around 26 minutes one of our favorites: PERU from The Netherlands. The album goes back to 1983 if I'm not mistaken - Constellations - wonderful analogue synths and heavy sequencial patterns. "when the bass drops in you can't stop me anymore, this is way too good" ~TC

Who said anything about electronic music being too cold or behaving like static sounds out of a box...? Wrong! Just listen to this episode of Spacemusic and discover a whole lot more about this genre. Interesting interview with one of the most creative and organic electronic music labels out there: Databloem. A very impressive collection of ambient tracks in your ears you'll never forget... (has been temp. offline because of little mixup in artists/tracks -Collection I- , this time it all matches reality again) Picture Displayed: example of collectors item, a bag full of Databloem goodies!
