Content Warning: Mention of Abuse. In this episode, Professor Jimbles and David McKie get together to fuck about, chill a little bit, and talk about Contagion Chronicle - Onyx Path's large crossover event kickstarter! (Also with some mention of some cool kickstarters going on at the moment.) How do Crossover style games work in WoD? And CofD? All-in-all, a very community minded episode. Scion: Origins - A fantastic addition to the Onyx Path's Scion Setting, the second edition of Scion is now in beta testing... Excitingly, Professor Jimbles and David McKie read through the Scion: Origins beta PDF and provide a review! Scion is a game about gods, humanity, and everything in between. It’s a game about mythic deeds and the legends those deeds engender. As a setting where real-world religions inspire roleplaying adventures and scenarios, we find it important to link to the Wikipedia pages for these actual religions: Aesir: The Norse Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesir Manitou: The Algonquian Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manitou Theoi: The Greco-Roman Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_mythology, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Roman_deities Netjer: The Egyptian Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Egyptian_deities Kami: The Japanese Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kami Tuatha Dé Danann: The Irish Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuatha_D%C3%A9_Danann Òrìshà: The Yoruba Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orisha Devà: The Gods of South Asia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deva_(Buddhism) Shen: The Chinese Pantheon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shen_(Chinese_religion) Teotl: The Aztec Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teotl Read all about Scion here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/scion-2nd-edition-tabletop-rpg Other things we mention in this episode: Gods Need Prayer Badly: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GodsNeedPrayerBadly Iron Druid by Kevin Hearne: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Druid_Chronicles Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivers_of_London_(novel) Dresden Files by Jim Butcher: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dresden_Files American Gods by Neil Gaiman: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Gods They Came from Beneath The Sea: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/they-came-from-beneath-the-sea-a-tabletop-roleplay Apple Podcasts: https://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/professor-jimbles-dicebag/id1080181132?mt=2 SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/professorjimblesdicebag/review-episode-scion-second-edition Jimbles on Twitter: twitter.com/Prof_Jimbles Facebook: www.facebook.com/ProfessorJimblesDiceBag/ Professor Jimbles' Dice Bag is a hobbyist podcast - We create episodes for fun! Gillian Darley and David McKie’s study of Nairn - Ian Nairn: Words in Place – published by Five Leaves, reintroduces to a new generation an architectural critic whose work has influenced writers and critics such as J.G. Ballard, Will Self, Iain Sinclair and Jonathan Meades, who once described Nairn as ‘a great poet of the metropolis’. Gillian Darley and David McKie discussed Ian Nairn’s life and work, and Owen Hatherley, author of A New Kind of Bleak and A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain chaired this discussion.
