:19 - Are you ready for some….futsal? It’s an ever-growing indoor soccer-like sport, and the Akron Vulcans will kick off their home opener on Sunday the 19th at Goodyear Hall. Otto Orf, the coach of the Vulcans, stopped by to explain futsal and promote Sunday’s game. 7:38 - An airplane passenger was creeped out by an airline employee who received her contact info and incessantly texted her. The morning show panel discussed this subject, as well as the security risks happening via technology. 14:13 - Earlier this week, the nominations for the Academy Awards were released, and though the panel hasn’t seen many of the films, they still shared their thoughts. 19:32 - Cavs fans have been excited to see what rookie Dylan Windler has to offer. Remember the scandals with the governor and lieutenant governor in Virginia? Not many do, and it was just two months ago! Fill-in host Tony Mazur and Jeanne Destro discussed how quick our news cycle goes. Believe it or not, Cleveland sports did celebrate championships between 1964 and 2016, and that was the Cleveland Crunch. Goalie Otto Orf stopped by to promote their 25th anniversary event from when they won the title in 1994, which is happening on April 26th at Goodyear Hall. Don Padgett called in to talk about the Bridgestone Senior Players tournament and all the events that surround it. Tonight is the night of the Akron RubberDucks home opener. GM Jim Pfander joined the show to talk about the Ducks team and 30 years of baseball in Akron (and Canton).

:17 - Remember, if you aren’t fully digital at home, this is the weekend we “fall back” with the time change. The panel opened Friday’s show talking about sleep, or lack thereof, and how they’re able to cope with their schedules. 10:52 - Akron Children’s Hospital has had Bill Considine in charge for 40 years, but that all changed this week. Grace Wakulchik is the new president and CEO at the hospital, and she talked to Ray about being prepared for the transition. 15:25 - Tammy Pescatelli got her start in standup at Hilarities Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls. Well, Hilarities has now become the Funny Stop, but she hasn’t forgotten her roots. She’s performing there this weekend, and being a Northeast Ohioan, she shared her thoughts on the Cleveland Browns. 22:20 - The world of comic books makes its way to Goodyear Hall this weekend. Michael Savene from the Akron Comicon joined Ray to give comic book enthusiasts some great access to the creators and exhibits. 25:50 - With Christmas around the corner and folks going shopping soon, our golf pro Dan Dauk talked about new clubs and equipment, especially for seniors hitting the links. 32:35 - Time to head to the front row with WQMX’s Scott Wynn. The big movie released this weekend is Bohemian Rhapsody, the new biopic on Freddie Mercury and Queen.

:17 - One of the big talking points in Akron these last few weeks has been a proposed ordinance to fine and even jail residents who have incessant barking dogs. Well, city council shot down Russ Neal’s proposal, and he joined Ray to discuss what’s next. 10:17 - Time now for our Academic Exam, sponsored by the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Matt and Katelyn from East Community Learning Center squared off a day earlier than normal, as we’re live at Goodyear Hall tomorrow. 23:00 - The devastation continues in the gulf of Florida, as the panhandle looks to rebuild what was torn up from Michael. The tornado-like winds damaged the power structure and grids need to be rebuilt. Mark Durbin from FirstEnergy gave us some education on what needs to be done. 30:52 - The Browns came out flat in Sunday’s contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. What needs to be done to rectify both sides of the ball to get back to .500? Fred Greetham from the Orange & Brown Report gave his thoughts on the game and looked ahead to Sunday in Tampa.
