Arts section writer Mia. L talks to the acclaimed artist Jaye Ho, about her latest exhibition The Vanishing Act (running from the 6th of October-22nd of November 2020), as hosted by The Onca Gallery in Brighton. Born in Oxford to Singaporean and Malaysian parents, Jaye discusses her career as a mixed media artist, alongside her role working within the Human Rights sector, of the U.K Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Jaye's exhibition The Vanishing Act encompasses many vital themes including gender discrimination, sexual violence and the hidden atrocities of war, from both a personal and socio-political perspective. Widely exhibited, with work highly regarded both nationally and internationally, Hastings-based artist Jaye Ho is truly a woman of our times.
