  So far we are only in the speculation mode— but I want to share something with you and that is Tucker Carlson on Friday night—it seems he knew what was coming—and he knew that changes were on the way—and he knew that he would have to be the clarion of reason—   Look I do not have a problem pointing to the my colleagues that are killing it—and lets be honest Tucker Carlson has been killing it for a long time—and because he was on Fox he had a very big audience—and therefore he was changing minds—well that is not acceptable—you cannot have that kind of impact—and call out the Russian Collusion story as complete crap—question the 2020 election and its integrity or the lack thereof—and make the J-6 protestors look like the average Americans they were—and NOT political terrorists—without having to pay the bill—   Well this last Friday—or before—Tucker was notified that his services would no longer be necessary—and he knew that on his show Friday night—   He also knew it when he delivered remarks a short time later about the future we face as Americans—    Tucker knew right there that the deal was already over—someday he will tell me I was spot on—I mean honestly you cannot listen to that and not understand that the execution order had already been issued—and he had been offered a last cigarette and a final meal request—   The body politic has been in upheaval ever since Donald Trump came down the escalator and they know he was going to clean their clocks!   I will give credit where credit is due—ever since Tucker lost the ridiculous bow-tie—he has been moving toward the destruction of the liberal myth—that more government is good—of course that's clearly not true based on the behavior of the Democrats themselves—   I mean if Socialists really believed that more government was the answer—they would never push the whole “Defund the Police” insanity—   Afterall—the police are the most visible government agents in the largest numbers—yet without explanation—the left says embrace more government—except those that make the citizens of the government more safe—   Yes, it is insanity defined—   And this insanity is being called out by more than just me—   So far, Tucker has been quiet—BUT good Lord the internet exploded and social media went through a near meltdown—between those that love Tucker and those that would like him eaten by wolves in a public arena for all to see and celebrate—   But what really happens next for a guy rumoured to be pulling down $25 million a year?   Bill O'Reilly basically vanished—I mean he sold millions of books and has a daily news something or other going on BUT he just disappeared—and yes his situation was significantly different—but he was number one when it all imploded—   Brian Williams was the main guy at NBC when his world came crashing down—Lyin' Brian got busted telling stories that just had no relation to the truth—why that doesn't stop Senile Joe Biden right now—is a question you will have to answer for yourself—   And of course there is the sad tale of Matt Lauer—smalltown nobody that became a worldwide superstar—until they realized he had an automatic locking door when interns came inside his office—sorry, but no pun intended—   None of these scenarios have any reflection on Tucker Carlson—no he is a criminal for pursuing the truth and having the balls to discuss it—I put him on a level with just one other person in contemporary America—Rush Limbaugh   You think about that and tell me if I am wrong—those two put it all out there—Rush was never cancelled but by God they tried a million times—   And for Tucker?   Have no fear—we will hear from him soon and I respect his attitude—America First—Freedom of Speech always—and so much more—   Trust me friends—Tucker will never be silenced—and neither will I—that is until the actuarial tables run out—   And where does he go from here?   Well I guess we will find out—until then I will be standing here—fighting for freedom and the American Dream and the American way of life!   To be fair—Don Lemon was also booted today after 17 years on CNN—the difference was—nobody cared

At the beginning of June we were invited to moderate a panel at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Rare as One Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. Most of the time diagnosis of a rare disease comes out of the blue and includes life altering, and life shortening symptoms.  The effect of which leave familiy members and friends to manage care and figure out how they might solve the problem.  Many times this means starting a nonprotit organization to advance science toward a treatment and cure.  Patients, parents and friends run these organizations with little to no budget or training.  These heroic efforts make slow progress while testing the resolve of their leaders who are constantly operating at the edge of their emotional, and physical capacity. The CZI Rare as One Program provides funding and training to build or expand research networks as well as increase organizational infrastructure to support this important work. The program started in 2019 and this was the first in person meeting of the 50 grantee organizations that make up the Rare as One Network.  It was an emotional time as the grantees continued to learn and laugh together in 3D instead of through a screen. We had the opportunity to moderate the closing session to talk about the incredible progress to date and the future of the program with three leaders of Rare as One,  Vice President, Science in Society at CZI, Tania Simoncelli Rare as One Program Manager, Heidi Bjornson-Pennell Rare as One Program Associate, Andra Stratton Enjoy the conversation.

Microschooling, and its various iterations including learning pods and hybrid homeschools, is swiftly and dramatically changing the face of education across the US. Microschools are modern twists on the quaint, one-room schoolhouse model, where small, typically multi-age groups of students learn together in more intimate educational settings, including private homes and small community spaces, with individualized curriculum and personalized attention from adult educators and mentors.  The microschooling movement was gaining traction before 2020, but interest in this innovative education model has accelerated over the past two years, as Don Soifer and Ashley Campbell have witnessed first-hand. Don and Ashley lead MicroschoolingNV, a non-profit organization that developed a first-of-its-kind, public-private partnership microschool with the City of North Las Vegas.
