After releasing their massive break-out single Busy Earning, London-based soul/funk outfit Jungle flew right onto the radar in 2014 with this instant classic. Their joyous menagerie of past and future styles immediately put these hardworking musicians on ‘band to watch’ lists worldwide and sent their debut self-titled album into charts worldwide (eventually going Gold in the UK). Described by its organisers as “part TED Talk, part YouTube confessional, but ultimately a celebration of the human story”, Amplified is a performance by participants in local young people's writing charity Little Green Pig. It sees eight young people taking the stage to tell their stories following a six-week writing and mentoring project.

Melita hears from the writer and director of the Edinburgh sell-out show, Robert Softley Gale, alongside actors Richard Conlon and Gale Watson. The musical comedy deals with some of the issues with able bodied actors playing disabled roles, and is guaranteed to make some viewers squirm in their seats. It is a collaboration between Birds of Paradise, the UK's only disabled-led theatre group, and the National Theatre of Scotland.
