4th & 30

In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, we switched things up a bit and featured multiple guests at once on the show, that being the greatest college manager squad in America! I had my good buddies that I met while working with the University at Buffalo Football Team on this week's episode. One of the guys from the crew, Nick Phillips, started his own spin-off of the famous Mt. Rushmore segment, featured in the Barstool Sports' Podcast, Pardon My take. The main difference with his version is that it focuses solely on Buffalo-related topics. We did a Mt. Rushmore of the best Buffalo Bills Players during their 17 season playoff drought between the years of 2000-2016. After doing a snake draft and selecting our four players, we had a chance to reminisce on the good old days while working with the UB Football team. In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, I interview the first coach to be featured in an episode - my buddy Rob Grosso. Rob is currently a Defensive Quality Control Coach for the Arizona Cardinals and details everything it took to land him this dream opportunity to coach in the NFL. Rob and I go way back to freshman year of college at John Carroll University, when we entered in as Football players. He spoke about what it took to get to the level he is at now, beginning with an Undergraduate Assistant turned GA position at John Carroll, going to the Broncos as an Operations Intern, then bouncing to the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena League as a scouting intern/do-it-all intern. He then went back to Denver and became Vance Joseph's assistant and had a great opportunity to follow him to Arizona where he is now coaching. This interview was fantastic and I am humbled and proud to see how far this guy has gotten. In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, I interview Trey Staunch, my first College Football Player/Hoopster. Trey was a dual sport athlete at Edinboro University. He played Offensive Tackle in Football and Power Forward in Basketball. It was really interesting to learn how the transition went for him from playing high school Football and Basketball, to playing both at the College level. In addition to this, we talked a little bit about what it was like to transition from season to season in between sports during college and if he has plans on playing overseas professionally. In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, I interview Derek Dorr, a former D2 All American Defensive Tackle for Edinboro University (2018). He is currently a Pro Indoor League Football player, who is set to play Defensive Tackle for the Columbus Lions. I've known Derek for about half of his life and I really wanted him to share his story of how he went from playing at Edinboro University and becoming a D2 All American, to getting a CFL tryout and getting a look at a college prospect camp for our hometown Buffalo Bills. We talk about his journey and what it took for him to become the best possible version of himself as a Football Player, as well as some other stuff. In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, I interview my buddy Jaron Moorer, an Indoor/Arena League Wide receiver and current CFL/NFL free agent. He talks about how he is training during the quarantine and keeping in shape, waiting for his next call.
