"I'm what's known as an 'over-communicator' so the players never have to wonder what I'm thinking or how I'm feeling. They know it's all about them. The staff is human, too. So don't mistake our kindness for weakness. So that's our approach. Always make sure they know what, how and why we're doing something. So win the day, win the week and win every game. I've never met a player or coach who practices to lose...when things don't go your way, we can either change what we're doing, change how we're doing it and/or change who we're doing it with."

Sorry everyone, we suck! Yeah we missed our normal pod day but hey we got er done. Matt and Mike are both very busy, especially Mike preparing to add to his brood. Today the guys chat about an Amazon Original, Jolt starring Kate Beckinsale and Stanley Tucci. Not action murder movie topics include westerns, Arizona Rattlers lose, and Y: The Last Man. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed Jon Wick with Crank and tossed in some Kate Beckinsale, wonder no more! That film is here and it's called Jolt. This flick is not going to win any awards but it sure is a ton of fun. Fast action, vibrant colors, a great cast, and a decent story, what else do you want? Beckinsale plays a character that can't control her anger, subsequently leading her to self-inflicted shock therapy until she meets the man of her dreams. He is murdered by his boss and it is all out revenge for the rest of the film. Mike and Matt both agree this is well worth the watch if you are into action or revenge movies. Mike awards Jolt a modest 2.5 out of 5 Reels. Matt rates the film a full reel higher with 3.5 out of 5 Reels. Next week Mike and Matt return to the theaters to catch Clint Eastwood's latest Cry Macho. Hopefully we will record on time next week too. Thank you for your continued support of our podcast and we will chat at you next week. With USA Basketball in shambles, they turn to "The Godfather," Jerry Colangelo, who proved to be instrumental in reviving the program. There are other "Great Men" with courage, intellect, and leadership that made The Redeem Team great, including of course Mike Krzyzewski, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, but the first Great Man to come along and change the course of USA basketball's history was Jerry Colangelo. Colangelo has owned, general managed, and coached the Phoenix Suns basketball team, he was Chairman of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, he owned the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball, the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League, the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League, he was instrumental in relocating the Winnipeg Jets hockey team to become the Phoenix Coyotes, he built a basketball program at Grand Canyon University, and he's been president of the NBA Board of Governors. And that's not even the most interesting part of his bio. This episode also includes stories and interviews with Portland Trailblazer and Redeem Teamer Carmelo Anthony, Redeem Teamer and now assistant coach for the LA Lakers Jason Kidd, NBA champion and Redeem Teamer Deron Williams, and winningest coach in NBA history Phil Jackson, among others. Late last week a number of NFL stars collaborated on an extremely powerful video focused squarely on George Floyd's death, racial injustice and the NFL's lack of proactivity when dealing with the issues blacks have been dealing with for so many years. Brad and Eric discussed the power of the iconic video – which featured Cardinal Pro Bowlers Patrick Peterson and DeAndre Hopkins, as well as former star safety Tyrann Mathieu. They also went in-depth on the video NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell posted about a day after a number of the league's elite players made their voices heard. Brad also caught up with former NFL and Arizona Rattlers lineman, now long-time Hamilton High School assistant coach Mark Tucker via Skype (17:21 on podcast).
In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, I interview the first coach to be featured in an episode - my buddy Rob Grosso. Rob is currently a Defensive Quality Control Coach for the Arizona Cardinals and details everything it took to land him this dream opportunity to coach in the NFL. Rob and I go way back to freshman year of college at John Carroll University, when we entered in as Football players. He spoke about what it took to get to the level he is at now, beginning with an Undergraduate Assistant turned GA position at John Carroll, going to the Broncos as an Operations Intern, then bouncing to the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena League as a scouting intern/do-it-all intern. He then went back to Denver and became Vance Joseph's assistant and had a great opportunity to follow him to Arizona where he is now coaching. This interview was fantastic and I am humbled and proud to see how far this guy has gotten. He deserves every bit of success that comes his way. -- Follow 4th & 30: Instagram - @4thand30 Twitter - @4thand30Podcast Twitch - @4thand30 --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/forthandthirty/support
Coach Kevin Guy of the Indoor Football League's Arizona Rattlers joins Blake McClellan and Shane McElroy for this episode of The ALL-IN Podcast. Not only is Kevin the head coach and GM of the Rattlers, he and his wife Cathy Guy own the Tuscon Sugar Skulls. The guys talk about Kevin's life in football, his many championships, business, sales and they also get into a little bit of trash talking (He is Shane's brother-in-law, so . . . ). This is a really fun episode and it shows that winners are winners in any industry!
Mark Tucker had a successful football career starting at Banning High School in Wilmington, California, where he was awarded multiple all-state honors and South Bay Lineman of the year as a senior. Tucker went on to play at USC where he was a four-year starter at offensive guard, playing in 48 games, 3 Rose Bowls, and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in political science. He was All Pac-10 as a sophomore and senior, second team as a junior, and first-team All-American as a senior. He was a finalist for the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy, given to the top lineman in college football. As a pro, Tucker was drafted in the 7th round by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1991 NFL Draft, he went on to play for the Indianapolis Colts, Phoenix Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New Orleans Saints in 1996. Tucker went on to play 10 years in the Arena Football league for the Arizona Rattlers, eventually winning a world championship against Kurt Warner and the Iowa Barnstormers. Roy Lewis is the owner of my 69 Chevelle that he renamed the Black Panther, against my sound advice. Like Tucker, Roy started his football career in south-central Los Angeles at Narbone High School, where he played linebacker and cornerback. Lewis went on to play for San Jose State his freshman year and then the University of Washington, where he served as team captain his senior year and earned a degree in American Ethnic Studies. At Washington he was named Pac-10 defensive player of the week and the team's defensive MVP after the win over Boise State in 2007. After his senior year, Lewis was then signed by the Pittsburg Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent after impressing Steelers coach Mike Tomlin with his physical play. While playing for the Steelers, Lewis won a Super Bowl in 2008. He then went on to play for the Seattle Seahawks, where he was presented with the Steve Largent Award and the team’s Man of the Year Award. You can find Mart Tucker on Instagram at @swol1_tuck and you can find Roy Lewis on Instagram at @roylew34

Hi everybody and welcome to another incredible amazing stupendous episode of the Reel Film Nerds podcast! Well it’s here, the last Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2019, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Not MCU or Spider-Man related topics include Aladdin, 501st, nerd cred, and Darth Predator. Spider-Man: Far From Home is a great MCU addition in the vein of the Ant-Man films. It is light hearted and fun throughout most of the film with incredible action sequences. A ton of the side characters had expanded roles in this film versus Spider-Man: Homecoming. Some of them were wanted and appreciated such as Mary Jane and others flat out were not. This film does get serious when it needs to be too. The explanation at the beginning of the film about the infamous snap was a nice addition giving us information not only for this film but the MCU as a whole. Thank you whoever decided to add those scenes to the film. Lastly don’t forget to stay for both end credit scenes. They are very important on where the MCU is going next, game changing is putting it lightly. Matt really enjoyed this film but he might be biased, he is a big fan of Mysterio. He did enjoy Far From Home more than Homecoming awarding the film 4 out of 5 Reels. Mike Talent enjoyed the film as well but not as much as Matt did. Talent did lose his nerd card during this episode so it’s to be expected. Mike gives Spider-Man: Far From Home 3.5 out of 5 Reels. Next week hopefully we will get a podcast recorded. Matt is very busy with the Arizona Rattlers heading to the national championship IFL United Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. this weekend.
