Jeff Mans is live on tape from the beach house, and not even a good ole-fashioned family vacation can stop him from taking care of the One Mans Opinion Listeners this week. Jeff is in full dynasty fantasy football mode as he discusses a few of his current drafts, including a startup dynasty draft that he had to go way against the grain to build his squad. In that spirit, Mans counts down his top 10 best rookie draft pick values right now, according to the latest rookie ADP prices. None of these players are being taken in the first two rounds either, so there are some definite deals here. He also looks at some of the upcoming 2026 NFL free agents at QB, RB, WR, and TE and discusses how we can plan accordingly in our dynasty leagues. Our all-time best rookie season series takes us to the wide receiver position this week, where we uncover that the best rookie WR of the last 25 years wasn't even the #1 or #2 pick in his rookie draft that year (per ADP). Mans reveals all the best and worst rookie receivers here. Remember to share the show with a friend, hit the like, favorite, heart, thumbs up, subscribe, and comment button for this episode!
Join DiscourseGareth Davies, Mayor of The Real Science of Sport, is ready to welcome you as a citizen of our VIP community! To join the conversation, make a monthly pledge at Patreon.com and get access to the shared expertise and passion of fellow listenersShow notesIn this week's Spotlight, we tackle an intriguing training question from a listener in our Discourse community: do short surges during easy or moderate training days undermine the training benefit? To explore this, we look to the current Giro d'Italia, where Richard Carapaz and rising star Isaac del Toro offer real-world examples of how intensity, even in brief bursts, may create a significant physiological cost. While small deviations from planned intensity are not only acceptable but often necessary, trouble arises when these efforts become too frequent or too intense. We introduce the concept of a physiological budget, and how consistent overspending can lead to a kind of training “bankruptcy,” where the cost outweighs the benefit. We break down how it's the intensity that exponentially increases physiological stress, and how to manage that cost wisely in your own training. Then we shift gears to rugby, where the red card rule is about to undergo a significant transformation. Under the new law, a team will no longer play with 14 players for the rest of the match—after 20 minutes, they can bring on a replacement. In response to split opinion in the Rugby community, Gareth asks: “What's the big deal?”. Ross explains why this change has divided the sport, delving into the broader context of concussion prevention, and how sanction was meant to carry the message for behaviour change. Ross shares insights from his newly published paper showing that women are concussed in the same way as men, adding a crucial layer to the ongoing head injury debate. In our news wrap, we stay on safety, where the NFL has decided not to ban the controversial "tush push". We examine how that decision parallels rugby's own risk-management principles. Beatrice Chebet ran the second-fastest 3000m in history last week, putting herself onto a controversial list of Chinese names who had appeared to move that World Record out of reach. Ross offers a prediction that it's a matter of time before the WR falls to Chebet (along with others). And the Enhanced Games claim a “world record” performance of its own, leading us to again discuss the ethics, science, and inevitable sales pitch driving the campaign, and why giving oxygen to the now transparent anti-aging commercial objectives of the Games may not be a good idea.LinksThe question that inspired our Training Zone discussion - for Discourse members onlyRoss' recent paper on the risk of head injuries in elite women rugby playersThe NFL does not ban the 'tush push'. This episode of Better With Running kicks off with an update from host Chris Armstrong on his calf strain, sustained in a work incident. While still recovering and not yet running, Chris shares his positive progress and hopes for a return to activity soon, The main focus then shifts to a compelling conversation with Andrew "Sos" Sostheim, an integral member of the Run2PB family since 2018. Andrew recounts his running journey, which began in 2014 after his football career, initially to get fit, but quickly evolved into a passion due to the immense physical and mental benefits, including stress management and a sense of accomplishment. He emphasizes the addictive nature of running and the importance of balancing it with other life commitments.Andrew, a busy "Sparky" with three children and active in their sports, shares his love for the sport. He also discusses his recent Run the Gap 12km event and his experience being coached by Matt at Run2PB, along with his favorite training sessions. Andrew passionately advocates for the social side of running, cherishing the camaraderie and banter with fellow runners.A significant part of Andrew's story revolves around his deep community involvement, particularly as a co-event director for the Wimmera River Parkrun. He enthusiastically promotes the positive impact on fostering good habits in children, providing social connections, and offering physical and mental health benefits to the community. His satisfaction comes from volunteering and seeing others achieve their personal bests, noting the significant growth of Wimmera River Parkrun. The episode concludes with a discussion from the WR chat about a "Buffalo Bandit Lacrosse player who ran a half marathon in full kit," and gets the boys posing some challenges Sos's way.

On the episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT explains how the rise of “alien” quarterbacks has warped NFL expectations and shifted how fans view the position entirely. He breaks down why Jim Harbaugh's Chargers are built to finally dethrone the Chiefs after nine straight AFC West titles, with a physical run-first offense and one of the most complete defenses in the league. JT also compares George Pickens to Dez Bryant, arguing that the Cowboys may have finally found the explosive, emotional WR archetype they've lacked for years. Plus, JT details why the Jets—powered by Justin Fields, Breece Hall, and a deep defense—could become one of the league's most physical teams. Lastly, he revisits Tim Tebow's unforgettable playoff upset over Pittsburgh and explains why Jeremiah Smith might be the most complete wide receiver prospect in NFL history.
Is Jalen Tolbert underappreciated? The K&C Masterpiece discusses the Cowboys' No. 3 WR.
Coach Chris Haddad joins the podcast and we talk about coaching WR's.
1. NFC East-When you add a special talent like Abdul Carter to a defensive front that includes star DT Dexter Lawrence, edge rushers Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, plus DT and 2025 third-round pick Darius Alexander, would you say the Giants have, at least on paper, the most fearsome pass rush in the entire NFL right now?-Do you see Jaxson Dart starting five or more games this season?-Do you think the added presence of Donovan Ezeiruaku to that Cowboys front four is going to free up Micah Parsons, schematically speaking, like never before?-How helpful can Tyler Booker, Ezeiruaku, and Shavon Revel, Jr. be in helping the Cowboys get the most out of George Pickens?-Do you think the best Week 1 OL combination for the Commanders includes Josh Conerly, Jr. at RT with Brandon Coleman kicking inside to guard, or is it Coleman staying put at RT with Conerly moving inside?-Would you anticipate Trey Amos growing into that No. 1 shutdown corner for the Commanders at some point this season?-I'm not saying Jihaad Campbell is Micah Parsons, but does Vic Fangio now have a weapon he can deploy in a very similar way?-Do you think Andrew Mukuba pushes Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown for one of the starting safety spots in Philly?2. NFC South -How does Tetairoa McMillan help Bryce Young continue on this promising trajectory?-Will the Panthers be getting the 2023 version of Nic Scourton as opposed to the 2024 version?-How ideal is it for the Saints to begin a roster makeover with two starting tackles on rookie contracts?-Would you bet on Tyler Shough being the Saints starting QB when they face the Cardinals in Week 1?-Just how skeptical are you that James Pearce, Jr. will end up living up to the price the Falcons paid to get him?-Does Emeka Egbuka bring anything to the table that Chris Godwin does not?-Would it be a surprise to you if both Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish are NOT playing starter-level snaps this season in Tampa?3. NFC North-After bringing in an innovative offensive mind in Ben Johnson to be their new head coach, re-vamping the OL, and ensuring that Caleb Williams will have four solid targets on the field at a time, is it safe to say the Bears have done everything possible to right their disastrous wrong in 2024?-Do you think Ozzy Trapilo has a legit shot to beat out Braxton Jones for the starting LT spot?-How do Matthew Golden and Savion Williams immediately upgrade the WR room in Green Bay?-With Donovan Jackson sliding in to that LG spot, do you see the Vikings as a top-five offensive line in 2025?-Do you see such upside in Tyleik Williams when it comes to rushing the passer?-What does the ceiling look like for Isaac TeSlaa?4. NFC West-Would you be surprised if Mykel Williams ends up winning 2025 NFL DROY honors?-Do you think Walter Nolen ended up in one of the best places possible that will help him reach his immense potential?-If the concerns about his knee end up being overblown, just how special a talent are the Cardinals getting in Will Johnson?-Can you see a scenario where Jalen Milroe ends up as the Seahawks starting QB in 2027?-Do you see Mike Macdonald utilizing Nick Emmanwori in pretty much the same way he used Kyle Hamilton in Baltimore?-Does it feel that most (if not all) signs are pointing toward the Rams landing their long-term successor to Matthew Stafford on Day 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft?-Which one of Jarquez Hunter or Chris Paul, Jr. do you think is most likely to far outplay his draft slot and why?(Photo via New York Giants)

On the Friday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Brian Batko draft an all-time Steelers flag football team ahead of that sport joining the Olympics for the 2028 games in Los Angeles. Does Ben Roethlisberger or Justin Fields make more sense at QB? Are Antonio Brown, Diontae Johnson and Santonio Holmes the top options at WR? And could Rod Woodson, Mike Hilton, Mel Blount, Troy Polamalu and Minkah Fitzpatrick form a fearsome defense? Our duo tackles those questions, offers thoughts on the end of another week of uncertainty around Aaron Rodgers and George Pickens' comments upon joining the Dallas Cowboys.
Send us a textThe New York Giants are making headlines again, and in this segment of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob break down some of the biggest developments shaping the future of Big Blue. The Giants cleared over $10 million in cap space by restructuring star pass rusher Brian Burns' contract, allowing them to finalize the signing of rookie linebacker Abdul Carter. According to Field Yates, Carter and Burns are now poised to become a nightmare duo for opposing quarterbacks in the NFC. Carter inked a four-year, fully guaranteed $45.3 million deal that includes a jaw-dropping $29.5 million signing bonus — solidifying his role as a cornerstone of the Giants' defense. There's even more good news for fans of the Giants. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers continues to impress before even taking a regular-season snap. PFF named Nabers to their list of the top 25 players under the age of 25, calling him the most valuable player on the Giants' roster. Nabers dominated the 2024 rookie WR class in both receiving grade and targets and ranked in the top 10 in PFF WAR for the year. It's clear the Giants found a potential superstar.Meanwhile, rookie running back Cam Skattebo revealed on Kay Adams' show that he'll be wearing No. 44 as a tribute to his brother, explaining the family meaning behind his jersey choice. Skattebo is also gaining traction as a potential sleeper pick in the Giants' backfield. Analysts like Scott DiBenedetto believe the Giants may have found another fifth-round gem, comparing Skattebo's toughness and versatility to last year's breakout star Tyrone Tracy. In other key updates, offensive lineman Evan Neal has officially been moved to guard, as confirmed by Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. Giants legend Shawn O'Hara believes the switch could be the key to unlocking Neal's potential, as the former first-round pick looks to revitalize his career and solidify the interior of the Giants' offensive line. Also discussed in this clip: rookie defensive back Dru Phillips undergoes LASIK eye surgery in preparation for the season. It's yet another sign that the Giants' young core is focused, hungry, and ready to prove something in 2025. PFF has made an enemy out of George Pickens. How good will Dallas' WR duo be in 2025?
What's up smooth skin, I'm the sherif in this here puddle. It looks like you broke your leg when you shot your rocket launcher straight into the ground. Nothing a nuka cola and a quick rest couldn't fix. Why don't you rest a spell and listen to the new episode of Need For Speedrunning. Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray reacted to Aaron Rodgers making us wait ‘a little bit longer.' The guys asked Ray about how the Steelers will put up with Rodgers being part of a major interview every single week, but he doesn't think it'll be much more than what Ben Roethlisberger did on The Fan. Is it a sign of desperation to clamor after Rodgers? Poni asked if Will Howard was overhyped. Ray thinks WR is a ‘dead issue' until Rodgers signs. Will that receiver be a buddy of Rodgers? Happy Tuesday! Beamer and Austin Ward open the show tonight with the reports of Power Conferences work on contract to bind schools to new enforcement rules, with strict punishments and what it would do to College Football. The guys breakdown the Fan Poll from today on which National Championship team at Ohio State is the best this century which creates a big debate. At the bottom of the hour, 10TV's Adam King joins the guys in studio to give his opinion on the debate. Next the guys hit the recruiting trail as Ohio State landed a QB from the transfer portal from out of nowhere, and potentially some news on a potential Ohio State basketball transfer target. At the top of the second hour, the College Football Pulse turns into the Bill Belichick Pulse with all the news coming out of what's going on in Chapel Hill. Next another Spring Rewind breaking down the loaded WR room. At the bottom of the hour, Jeremy Birmingham catches the guys up on some more recruiting news. #Buckeyes and more!
Steve and Cullen connect with Jeff Nowak, Saints sideline reporter, and WWL digital content producer, to break down his way-too-early 53-man roster projections under the first year of the Kellen Moore era, if Kendre Miller could climb to RB2 or fall off the team, why we might see lot more tight ends than previous years, where the strength of the WR core falls on the backs of, why someone like Jordan Howden might be cut, and if we may see yet another punter and kicker competition.
