In this jam-packed episode of The Jay Thomas Show (hosted today by Tim Flakkol), listeners are taken on a wide-ranging ride through some of the most fascinating developments in North Dakota and beyond. The show kicks off with a deep-dive interview featuring Nick Phillips of Applied Digital, discussing the jaw-dropping $5 billion AI and blockchain facility being built in Ellendale, North Dakota—one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. He explains how cold weather, low power costs, and regional infrastructure are helping position North Dakota as a future tech powerhouse. Then it's onto local controversy as Mike Rachow highlights the brewing debate over the potential closure of the Broadway Station, a vital gathering place for North Fargo seniors. He raises concerns about North-South equity in Fargo's development priorities. Weather guru Dean provides a forecast update just in time for Mother's Day planting, followed by beloved horticulturist Don Kinzler, who answers a flurry of listener questions about raised gardens, pesky rabbits, and the curious case of red-white-blue AI-generated hostas. Listeners also get gardening hacks (hello, hand warmers for plants!), and pro tips on soil mixes and tree care. Closing out the episode is a touching, music-filled conversation with rising singer-songwriter Ella Rudd, a 17-year-old high school grad reflecting on her musical journey, creative process, and performing with family. Bonus: she debuts a brand-new original live on air. Whether you're into tech, tomatoes, or tunes—this episode hits every note.

In this special edition of the Accounting Influencers Podcast, hosted by Martin Bissett, featuring Gordon King from The World of Twist, the conversation delves into the intersection of creativity and accounting in the music industry. Gordon King shares insights into the rise and fall of The World of Twist, a band he co-founded, shedding light on the financial dynamics within the group. As creative professionals navigating the music scene, the band members initially had little business acumen and entrusted their manager with handling finances. Gordon reflects on the naivety and excitement that often accompany young musicians signing major record deals, highlighting the importance of understanding contracts and financial arrangements in the music business. The discussion provides a fascinating glimpse into the challenges faced by creative individuals when dealing with the business side of their careers.YoutubeYou can watch this episode and more on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@accountinginfluencers Guest BioWorld of Twist was an English indie pop band formed in Sheffield in 1985, experienced various lineup changes throughout history. The band's original lineup featured James Fry (vocals), Andrew Hobson (bass guitar), Gordon King (guitar), Tony Ogden (drums), Rory Conolly (saxophone), Nick Phillips (organ), and Andy Robbins (synthesizer). After disbanding, a new lineup emerged in Manchester in 1986.While the band gained attention for their live shows and radio sessions, their debut album, "Quality Street" (1991), didn't receive significant critical or commercial success. Despite not touring North America, "Sons of the Stage" succeeded in Toronto and New York. Creative differences and Ogden's decision to stop singing contributed to the band's dissolution in 1992.QUATERMASS III is the pilot recording of this exciting project that came from the minds behind World of Twist, Earl Brutus, and The Dials. When it comes to the production of knowledge the value of viewpoint diversity cannot be overstated. For simple problems, or well established technicalities, we may not need multiple viewpoints, but wicked problems can only be addressed by engaging with diverse points of view. Yet, not all points of view are equal, and certainly not all of them belong in the academy. In this episode of Heterodox Out Loud, lawyer and former HxA researcher, Nick Phillips, grapples with a central dilemma at the heart of Heterodox Academy: What are the limits of viewpoint diversity? The penultimate episode of season two of the All Bets Are Off podcast focuses on the armed forces and veteran community. On today's show we're joined by three army veterans: Drew Crainie and Nick Phillips, formerly of the British Army, and from across the pond we have Dave Yeager, who served in the US Military. Although research is limited, like many of the communities that we feature on the podcast, armed forces personnel and veterans are disproportionately affected by gambling harms in comparison to the general population. In fact, armed forces veterans are more than eight times more likely than non-veterans to exhibit problem gambling. During the episode we explore each of the veterans' personal stories, and discuss whether or not the environment, stress and trauma's of army life had an impact on their gambling behaviours.

In this episode of the 4th & 30 Podcast, we switched things up a bit and featured multiple guests at once on the show, that being the greatest college manager squad in America! I had my good buddies that I met while working with the University at Buffalo Football Team on this week's episode. One of the guys from the crew, Nick Phillips, started his own spin-off of the famous Mt. Rushmore segment, featured in the Barstool Sports' Podcast, Pardon My take. The main difference with his version is that it focuses solely on Buffalo-related topics. We did a Mt. Rushmore of the best Buffalo Bills Players during their 17 season playoff drought between the years of 2000-2016. After doing a snake draft and selecting our four players, we had a chance to reminisce on the good old days while working with the UB Football team. This one was a really fun episode to record and featured some great stories. Be sure to also go follow Nick's Mt. Rushmore 716 page on Twitter @MtRushmore716. Human nature is a funny thing, and it is even funnier that we never learn from the past. I know that there is certainly debate as to how cyclical history really is, but the stories I have for you this week seem like a 21st-century perspective on debates that have raged for hundreds or thousands of years. What does that tell me? Probably everything I am about to say has been said before, but I'm going to say it anyway. 1.
