On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran dives into what the Buffalo Bills have done at cornerback so far this offseason and perhaps more importantly, what they will do at cornerback before the 2025 regular season begins.Brandon Beane has been busy adding to the defense so far during this free agency period, but those biggest additions have come on the defensive line where they've signed Joey Bosa, Michael Hoehct and Larry Ogunjobi. The safety position has also seen Damar Hamlin re-sign as well as the addition of Darrick Forrest. The cornerback position is starting to stick out as a need at this point, perhaps the team's biggest. The Bills did bring back Dane Jackson after letting him walk a year ago, but Rasul Douglas remains in free agent limbo and former first-round pick/bust Kaiir Elam was traded to Dallas. Whether Jackson ends up starting alongside Christian Benford, cornerback is in need of talent influx. Patrick talks about Benford, his thoughts on Jackson returning and three veteran free agent possibilities that could still happen, including Douglas.More than likely however, the Bills long term and perhaps immediate starting solution come come through the draft at the end of April. Patrick breaks down three prospects that could be very enticing to the Bills in the first round as well as three others who could be solid day two picks and contribute right away. That plus some NFL rule change proposals and more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nation to discuss and assign a grade for each part of the Buffalo Bills offseason through this point in addition to discussing the offseason for some AFC rivals. To say it's been an interesting offseason so far for the Bills may truly be an understatement. Props to anyone who had the Bills signing a Bosa in free agency and multiple defenders who will be suspended to start the season on their bingo cards, but here we are. Matt has plenty of thoughts on the Bills “swinging big” with Joey Bosa while Brandon Beane, rightfully so caught heat for inking Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi to deals despite pending suspensions, the former a situation Beane knew about. That's just a part of an eventful offseason. The Bills also extended three key young core players in addition to the big Josh Allen contract. That's discussed and evaluated as are a few re-signings including Ty Johnson and Damar Hamlin as well as a few more low key adds like Laviska Shenault, Dane Jackson and Darrick Forrest. The guys also evaluate and discuss how the rest of the AFC east has done during this period in addition to the Bengals ponying up for both their star receivers, the Chiefs having a very interesting offseason and plenty more.♦♦♦♦♦Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran's SubstackTwitter: @PatrickMoranTBBlue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.socialInstagram: @PatrickMoranTBFacebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast

A standout on special teams for the Bills during his 12 seasons with the team, Tasker made a name for himself around the league. Not only did his outstanding achievements on the field earn him numerous accolades, his commitment to the region solidified his place in the hearts of Bills fans everywhere. Tasker, who remained close to the game through his broadcast work for CBS, will get back to his roots with Buffalo when he joins the Voice of the Bills John Murphy as co-host of “One Bills Live,” presented by Kaleida Health. Like its predecessor, “The John Murphy Show,” “One Bills Live” will give fans a daily dose of the latest Bills news. The only show live from the home of the Bills – One Bills Drive – fans can follow along with Tasker and Murphy, as well as special guests, as they tackle all the hottest topics happening around the NFL. The show will remain at its current time from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be available on WGR Sports Radio 550, MSG Networks and the MSG Go app.Murphy, who over the years has developed a close relationship with Tasker, believes the Bills icon is the perfect addition to the show. “I've known Steve since he came here in 1986,” said Murphy. “Shortly after that, he started doing television shows. When I was at Channel 7, he hosted “The Steve Tasker Show” and I was the co-host…I've known him for 30-plus years. One of the many good things about Steve doing the show, is he's a broadcaster. He's been at CBS for 21 years at the highest level of football broadcasting.“He comes in with all that experience – all his football experience, playing at a very high level for several years and making Pro Bowls. Adding in his broadcast background, which is pretty impressive, I think it will make him a great addition to the show.” While Tasker's impressive resume undoubtedly gives him a unique perspective to share with viewers, Murphy believes that its Tasker's time spent in Buffalo that makes him truly special and able to connect with his audience.“Steve always impressed me," said Murphy. “Not that players aren't tuned into the reality, but Steve has always been tuned into real life. He knows what it's like not to be in the NFL. He lives his life like a person who is not a former professional athlete in many ways. He's easy to relate to. I think fans already know that. Fans are familiar with him from all the TV work he's done. He brings an everyman aspect to the show and he's committed to this area. I think people tap into that.” For Tasker, this next chapter in his career is one that he's ready to embrace fully. “The Buffalo Bills have been a tremendous part of my life and I am very eager to begin this opportunity,” said Tasker. “This is an exciting time in franchise history and I am thrilled to get involved on a daily basis. I look forward to working with Murph to connect with Bills fans who have been so supportive of me for a long time.” 2024 © 2021 Audacy, Inc. That's led to many fans turning on him of sorts, and often suggesting the Bills should trade him since they're almost certainly not going to pay him the kind of money he's looking for. Patrick absolutely disagrees with pretty much any trade theory short of a team being stupid enough to overpay to the extent Brandon Beane can't refuse. While agreeing that Cook's snap percentage and a shortcoming or two of his leads to him not being deserving of the same type of money guys like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry can command, he explains multiple reasons why he considers trading Cook completely foolish, even if this is his last year on the team. Also Patrick has thoughts on a listener calling the Bills signing of Joey Bosa the Baltimore equivalent of adding DeAndre Hopkins and worries that the Bosa move has Shawn Merriman vibes from more than a decade ago. That plus Keon Coleman being counted on to step up, Damar Hamlin returning to the Bills, Shaun Dolac showing on during his UB Pro Day and plenty more.Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red's at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. The Buffalo Bills have made a number of free signings through the first full week of NFL Free Agency. March 17, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 106 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly agreeing to terms with free agent DL Daniel Ekuale, formerly of the New England Patriots. Alex and I break down what Ekuale brings to the Steelers defensive line room, what is contract level is likely to be, and whether his acquisition impacts the team's draft plans. Former Steelers DL Larry Ogunjobi will miss the first six games of the 2025 NFL regular season for the Buffalo Bills due to a PEDs suspension, so Alex and I discuss his situation. We wonder if the Steelers knew about the forthcoming suspension for Ogunjobi prior to cutting him last week. The Atlanta Falcons have decided to keep QB Kirk Cousins for at least a little bit longer as his 2026 roster bonus of $10 million has been exercised by the team as a result of the team not cutting him by today. Was this a smart move by the Falcons? Will they eventually trade him? Alex and I have a meaty discussion on that topic that includes some differences in opinions. The Cincinnati Bengals have finally signed WR Ja'Marr Chase and WR Tee Higgins to meaty contracts as of Sunday night, so Alex and I discuss those two deals. We discuss the byproduct of those two deals that the Bengals consummated and what it means for them on the defensive side of the football. We also talk about why the Higgins contract numbers might be the most intriguing to see once they are fully known. Alex and I discuss the several types of guarantees that are sometimes included in the contracts of NFL players with the main focus of that discussion being on injury guarantees versus full guarantees. Some interesting college pro days are scheduled for this week, so Alex and I go over a few of them. We also talk about what the Steelers' presence at the Mississippi pro day might be later this month. This 88-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap as well. We end this show by answering several emails we have received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
