In their discussion, Caroline and Mary discuss the findings of the EPI's recent report Education in England Annual Report 2020, for which Mary was a lead author. In particular, Mary talks through the research finds relating the the disadvantaged attainment gap, the attainment gap for those considered persistently disadvantaged and gaps for students from different ethnic backgrounds. They go on to explore the implications for schools in relation to how best supporting disadvantaged students.
