Go For It! Try It! Not as Scary As It Seems! - Mariah Morris This episode I have the pleasure to interview Mariah Morris, who is the 2019 Burroughs Wellcome Fund North Carolina Teacher of the Year, and teaches second grade at West Pine Elementary School here in Moore county. Mariah is excited about her opportunity to travel the state next year advocating on behalf of the wonderful teachers and students. Listeners can learn more about her journey as Teacher of the Year by following her on Twitter @morristeach1 and on Facebook at Mariah Morris. Students need to learn how to be resilient, and learn to be problem solvers to be successful in the job market. Hear more about her insights inspired by SAS. We talk about the importance of having DIFs (Digital Integration Facilitators) in our schools to help support teachers as they begin to explore STEM in their classrooms. STEM as an elective is great, but Mariah believes that she also needs to integrate it into her lessons. STEM is the vehicle that drives her students success in mastering the standards. We need to accept this new mindset of using STEM in our classrooms. Goose Chase - https://www.goosechase.com/
