I'm not going to pretend like I know how you should live your life. Instead, I'm going to propose that you genuinely seek that out for yourself with an open mind and heart. My name is Steven Horkey and I am a musician, meditator, and yogi among many other things. If I had to distill one messageā¦
Episode Notes Today I have a conversation with Peter Illetschko.Peter recently completed his book, "Cycle of Life" which documents his year long bicycle trip alongside his Capoeira martial arts crew from Berkely, California to Brazil (B2B).The book is part memoir, part travel story, part comedic satire, and part social critique. In addition, it offers an insightful view into Capoeira's cultural richness and transformational power. As we discuss in the show, Peter sees travel as a means of expanding intellectually, socially, and spiritually. He's a man who's lived from a number of perspectives, and through our meandering tangents, I believe there is some value to be gained and utilized in our own lives. As of this release, COVID-19 is in full swing. Please take care of yourself, your loved ones, and your community by staying home. It's an opportunity for us to reflect and connect with each other in a different way. Episode Notes Today I have a conversation with Joseph Stanton to share with you. He's a holistic health and lifestyle coach and overall beautiful human being who wants nothing more than for people to be true to themselves, We talk about his journey from addiction to wellness, his raw vegan diet, the importance and often untapped potential of breathwork, the value of loosely holding your beliefs, and much more. He lives a very unique lifestyle compared to most people, and as always, this podcast isn't about converting anyone to any one way of living. It's instead about sharing different practices that have helped people, and bridging the gap of our differences to form a connection that is authentic and in many ways, healing. You can find Joseph on Instagram: @fallingfromthesky143. Self Doubt On A Meditation Retreat First of all, sorry I pause a lot in this... sorta comes with the territory on a retreat. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think we all undergo far more self-doubt than any of us realize. We need voices of support in our lives, people who see us for who we are beyond the limits we place in front of us. We ALWAYS hold ourselves back more than anyone else. When there is a lack of conviction, faith in yourself becomes the refuge. Express gratitude to the people in your life that you care about.
