Abortion is a barbaric procedure that destroys human beings where they should be safest: in their mother’s womb. Science, logic, and reason compel us to fight against abortion. The goal of this podcast is to arm you for that fight.
In this episode, I'm going to play a conversation I had with Grace and Eden from "Abortion. It's a Black and White Issue." It was a really great conversation, and I think my American listeners will be especially interested in hearing some of the differences between anti-abortion activism in the U.S. and the U.K. I encourage you to go give them a follow on Instagram especially, where they produce some loud, sassy, fantastic anti-abortion content. In this episode of the Fight Death podcast, we're going to be exploring red herrings: what they are and how to respond to them. I'm continuing with a slightly longer episode format, and a little less scripted. Tell me your thoughts! If you want to support the show, use this affiliate link (I get a small cut of the profit, but you don't pay extra!) to pick up a copy of An Illustrated Book of Bad Arguments ( https://amzn.to/2WUnJFv ) , which I mention toward the end of this episode. It's a great little guide to logical fallacies, and it makes a nifty teaching tool for kids. Plus, it's a nice coffee table book! You can find more of my work at https://www.fightdeathpodcast.com/. This is a tough one. We're going to spend the next several episodes talking about rape and abortion. I'm marking these episodes as explicit, but I am not detailing the act of rape. In this episode, we finally address how to respond when someone brings up rape. This is a long episode — I'm trying out this longer format, so please let me know what you think. This is a tough one. We're going to spend the next several episodes talking about rape and abortion. I'm marking these episodes as explicit, but I am not detailing the act of rape. Now that we have an understanding of the data, I want to explain why rape exceptions are not logically consistent with the pro-life position. This is a tough one. We're going to spend the next several episodes talking about rape and abortion. I'm marking these episodes as explicit, but I am not detailing the act of rape. Today we're going to look at the data surrounding rape and abortion and try to answer two key questions: what percentage of rapes result in abortion, and what percentage of abortions result from rapes? In this episode, I talk about Greg Koukl's technique: "trotting out the toddler." We established in the last episode that there isn't a morally significant difference between a pre-born and a born human being. That means that any reason we give to justify abortion, i.e. the killing of a pre-born human being, must also be able to justify killing a born human being. Vice versa, if its a bad reason to kill a born human being, then its a bad reason to kill a pre-born human being. I'm dropping Greg Koukl's book Tactics here in the show notes again. In this episode, I cover the SLED framework from Greg Koukl. SLED is an acronym that stands for Size, Level of Development, Environment, and Degree of Dependency. These are the four categories of differences between a pre-born and a born human being. But none of these categories are morally significant: if they would justifying killing a pre-born human being, they would also justify killing a born one. I promised I would link Greg's book Tactics in the show notes. I'm doing so with an affiliate link, which means that if you click my link and then buy, Amazon (not you) pays me a little bit of money.
