150 people were convinced to leave all they knew to move to a new land many thousands of miles away only to find out that Patagonia in Argentina was not as it had been described. Send us a textWhen Google penalties strike, panic often follows. Whether you've been hit by the recent massive core update or you're dealing with a mysterious traffic drop, knowing how to recover is crucial for your site's survival.Google penalties come in two distinct flavours, each requiring a different recovery approach. Manual penalties occur when an actual person from Google's web spam team reviews your site and finds violations of their terms of service. The silver lining? You'll receive specific notification through Search Console about what went wrong, giving you a clear path to fix the issues. Whether it's removing spammy content, addressing cloaking techniques, or disavowing problematic backlinks, the reconsideration process provides a structured way back into Google's good graces.Algorithmic penalties present a murkier challenge. These automated judgments come with no notification or reconsideration process, leaving you to play detective with your analytics and Google's limited update information. As someone who's personally recovered from algorithmic penalties, I can attest that patience becomes your greatest asset. Through careful analysis of affected pages, strategic improvements, and persistence, recovery is absolutely possible—sometimes resulting in traffic that exceeds pre-penalty levels. The key is avoiding rash decisions during active updates and learning from the community of others experiencing similar issues.Don't surrender to the myth that penalties mean permanent exile from search results. While the work required varies dramatically based on the severity of your violations, nearly every type of Google penalty has proven recoverable with the right approach. Have you been hit by a recent update? Share your experience and let's work through recovery strategies together!SEO Is Not That Hard is hosted by Edd Dawson and brought to you by KeywordsPeopleUse.com Help feed the algorithm and leave a review at ratethispodcast.com/seo You can get your free copy of my 101 Quick SEO Tips at: https://seotips.edddawson.com/101-quick-seo-tipsTo get a personal no-obligation demo of how KeywordsPeopleUse could help you boost your SEO and get a 7 day FREE trial of our Standard Plan book a demo with me nowSee Edd's personal site at edddawson.comAsk me a question and get on the show Click here to record a questionFind Edd on Linkedin, Bluesky & TwitterFind KeywordsPeopleUse on Twitter @kwds_ppl_use"Werq" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
Infinity: The Hunt has ended, and now we are left with the cleanup...and this miniseries. The reaction to Thanos's invasion, by the Inhumans, was to unleash clouds of Terrigen Mist. The reaction by Marvels comics to that event, was to bring us...this mess. So, grab your cell phones, and start posting, because apparently that is the future. You may be looking at this book, and after the prior series, you are hoping for a nice, simple story. Maybe something about the friends, we made along the way, or an exploration into teams working with one another. Dating possibly. Maybe some shared cookouts. That would be nice. Just people hanging out, chatting about stuff. Maybe a fun little nautical pirate story. Who knows? The world is the writer's oyster. NO! You do not get nice things. You must get out all of your social media handles and blog post about everything because that is the world we live in!!! And be sure to post about your most disgusting thing so the whole world knows about it. Get in that bathroom! Snap a picture of your garbage! Embarrass your family! DO IT!!! Also, make sure you get a bunch of super-heroes to come and help you out. Make sure that they are running away from emergency and disaster response scenarios to help you and your little problem. It is ok, you have superpowers and that makes you better than other people. Now, wait a minute. Talking about feelings and working through problems is a good thing, and we should be recognizing when talking and listening to people helps resolve problems. We should be emotionally available for people. Except for rage filled, pre-teen, younger brothers. They are the worst. But you should read the book. Or....whatever. In this episode, the Eternals have some distressing contemporary resonances, the Master is smoked paprika, and Terminus has an obvious reading that somehow neither of us have encountered before (do get in touch if you know a source that does it well). Ciarán somehow manages to get the words “moral ambiguity” and “Black Guardian” into the same sentence without breaking the English language, before Jacob exclusively reveals said Guardian's side gig. We also talk quite substantially about the other two Davison seasons, possibly freeing ourselves of the obligation of actually covering them in the process. Very minor errata that occurred to me (Ciarán) in editing: it's the Battle of Waterloo, not the First World War, that is said to have been won “on the playing fields of Eton” (quite the opposite is often said of WWI), while the Robert Browning poem mentioned as a source for The Five Doctors is “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came,” which I think I was mixing up with “Childe Harold's Pilgrimage,” by Lord Byron. Everything Jacob said is perfect, as always. Badlands National Park in South Dakota is known for its harsh terrain, ancient fossils, and striking rock formations — but it also has a darker side. For generations, visitors and locals have reported eerie experiences: unexplained lights, voices on the wind, and sightings of a ghostly woman said to cry out across the plains. Known as the “Badlands Banshee,” her wail is believed to be a warning — or a lure. Native American legends and settler stories point to the land as a place of spiritual power, mystery, and unrest. In this episode, we uncover the haunting folklore of one of America's most desolate national parks.OBSCURATA - Apple Spotify AmazonThe BOOKBY US A COFFEEJoin Sarah's new FACEBOOK GROUPSubscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch Links:https://moonmausoleum.com/the-hauntings-of-amy-robsart-in-wychwood-forest/https://www.historyhit.com/the-most-haunted-forests-in-the-uk/https://www.businessinsider.com/haunted-forests-around-the-world-2018-10https://connectparanormal.tumblr.com/post/640829278761328640/ghosts-of-the-wychwood-forestThanks so much for listening, and we'll catch up with you again on tomorrow.Sarah and Tobie xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Until then, they'll defend their planet while wearing as little as possible. Here now is the story of how this blobby show came to Saturday Morning. Can shape-shifters be more than mattresses? Is there anything cooler than a bat-winged lazer dragon? How does Boston Red Sox player Carl Yastrzemski figure into all this? SPOILER: He really doesn't. Summer in 2025 is here - and after one of the sunniest and driest Springs on record, we enter the long days and sultry nights with the garden looking glorious but always looking to the horizon for a little bit of rain to keep things looking green and lush. Herbaceous borders are set to maximum colour, vegetable beds seem to multiply in growth weekly and the gardeners tan is ever present. So enjoy the long summer days, take some time to appreciate time in your garden and join the Talking Heads pair as they continue to look after the spaces they are in charge of, as well as enjoying their gardens at home. The third UK summer heatwave is occurring, with summers getting warmer and drier - especially noticeable in Saul's usually much wetter county of Devon, this means a lot of plants need a little extra TLC to get them looking at their best. Lucy in dry Essex is, however, extremely used to these conditions and gives us a few hints and tips on plants to grow in the dry. Also a lot of pruning going on including the topiary, so appropriately the Henchman Topiary Awards have been announced - with some fantastical animals being created by artful pruning. However, forget all this because this weekend it's all about the BBQ - so enjoy your garden in the best way possible with grilled veggies and a banger or two!LinkedIn link:Saul WalkerInstagram link:Lucy lucychamberlaingardensIntro and Outro music from https://filmmusic.io"Fireflies and Stardust" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)Support the show
Welcome to the final episode of ‘Songs of the Skies'! Today I am joined by Mark Boden and Fennella Humphries to discuss 'Chasing Sunlight'! This incredible piece of music tells the story of the Arctic Tern, and how it takes part in one of natures greatest and most epic quests!First, we will hear about Mark's time learning from these birds on the Isle of May and Anglesey, and how that translated into song. Then Fenella will explain how she brought that music to life!Since this is the last episode of the series I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone on the Sinfonia Cymru team who invited me to take part in this event, it was an absolute honour. Three ordinary people share their terrifying encounters with the unexplained—a nurse's roadside sighting of an impossibly tall figure in a Nebraska cornfield,a trucker's repeated encounters with ghostly children on an Ohio highway, and a college graduate's basement confrontation with something that knows her name—proving that modern folklore is still being written by those brave enough to witness it. This was when I was in nursing school at UNC Greensboro. An opportunity came about where I had a chance to go to Honduras, and it was for a one-week service learning cultural immersion experience. And that really gave me my first entree into global health as well as global training. And so, as a first-generation college graduate who had never been out of North Carolina nor had ever flown, it was really an eye-opening experience that has led me now to my current role and passion for global health.” TS 3:24 Leak-Bryant: “In 2018, we had the Malawian delegation come to UNC Chapel Hill. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has one of the longest standing collaborations with Malawi, and we call it UNC Project Malawi, and it has been in existence for more than 30 years. … Those nurses and other allied health professionals came to UNC to our cancer center to see how we were making sure that we were engaged in best practices, then how they would be able to take that back to Malawi to make sure that they have what they need as they were opening up a new national cancer Center in Malawi.” TS 7:57 Ferguson: “I have volunteered with ONS at the Asian Pacific Breast Cancer Summit, which was in Indonesia in 2024, and then a few months ago in Singapore. And this is an exciting conference because it draws in nurses from the region, so you end up having five, six, maybe seven countries represented at these conferences, where oncology nurses are very eager to learn, meet one another. And so the teaching that we've provided there has been a combination of lectures and then roundtables where we've strategically placed nurses attending with nurses that are not at their same hospital so that they can connect and share experiences with myself and another ONS member and maybe some other local staff acting as moderators and facilitating conversations.” TS 18:04 Ferguson: “When I was in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2019, the people there, most of them do not speak English, so they speak their native language Georgian. As I presented, I was wearing a headset, and all of the oncology nurses in the audience were wearing a headset, and I was live translated. What this means is when you're speaking, a translator is sitting in a booth close by and you can actually very quietly hear in your ear he or she quietly translating what you're saying into a language that the nurses can understand. It's actually a bit funny because when you make a joke or ask a question, expecting nods or head shakes, it takes several seconds for the translation to occur. You can get used to a 10-second delay, and you have to pause your speaking and allow actually a little bit more time in presenting if translation services are required.” TS 22:25 Fischer-Cartlidge: “I think that the professional organization role is absolutely critical in how we advance global oncology. Certainly, providing education and helping empower nurses to be more autonomous and equal partners on the care team is a big piece of that. But it's also through forming international partnerships and really elevating the collective voice of nurses in the specialty. This goes a long way in standardizing practices, promoted leadership development among oncology nurses, really across the world. We know that nurses are not seen the same country to country to country on the healthcare team. And so a big part of what we do is try to elevate the importance of what nurses bring to cancer care.” TS 36:14 Fischer-Cartlidge: “I have so many hopes. I hope more opportunities come up for us to raise awareness of this essential role and how we bring a greater spotlight to what nurses are doing across the world for patient care. I hope to see us have more collective global position statements in this space. I hope to see that we have more unified projects across nursing organizations across the world, where we then really can bring our resources and our members together to do great work more effectively and more efficiently. And I think the beginnings of that are happening right up to this point.” TS 41:17

Send us a textHave you ever wondered what happens to all those valuable backlinks and search rankings when you delete a page or change your domain name? The answer lies in properly implemented 301 redirects – the unsung heroes of technical SEO.301 redirects function as your website's forwarding address, telling both browsers and search engines that content has permanently moved to a new location. More importantly, they transfer accumulated ranking signals like backlinks, history, and authority to the new URL. Without them, you risk throwing away years of hard-earned SEO equity. In this episode, I break down four critical scenarios where 301 redirects are absolutely essential: when removing outdated pages, when restructuring your website's URL hierarchy, when standardizing your www/non-www domain configuration, and during complete domain migrations. The last scenario is particularly crucial – failing to implement proper redirects during a domain change has caused countless websites to vanish from search results overnight.I also tackle the common question of how long redirects should remain active. While Google officially states that signals transfer fully after about a year, I recommend keeping them permanently. Even decades-old links continue to be crawled and pass value through properly maintained redirects. As I discovered at Broadband.Co.uk, links from as far back as 1996 were still being followed by Google's crawlers 25+ years later!Want to learn more about preserving your website's SEO value during changes? Having an encounter with a UFO is one of the most bizarre and overwhelming events a person might experience. But in a large percentage of these cases, the sighting itself is just the beginning. Over the years, hundreds of witnesses have reported being visited by strange, unearthly men in the days and weeks following their sightings. Are they government agents of suppression, extraterrestrial visitors in disguise, or something else entirely? Who are the Men in Black? And what can we learn from the recent videos that claim to finally prove their existence? Dr. Carli Blau lived the childhood romance romcom. Her and her husband dated a little in high school — then break up. Then they dated a little in college — and break up. Then he persisted until he wins her over in their mid-20s proving that a man with a plan — who can respectfully take a no — will find the love he wants. Carli and I had a fucking blast on my 600th podcast episode. Pick up some ideas from her Ryan and hold onto hope that you will find your male or female or nonbinary Ryan once you hold yourself up like a person who deserves one. PLUS!
