Hi friends thanks for being here! This is a podcast about me for you.! My goal is to surprise you with joy, normalize your doubts, and leave you feeling functional in this bizarre world we live in. Today I am somewhat apprehensively talking to you about cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is a chronic, terminal genetic disease which I have! Whoohoo! I actually struggle to share about CF because I feel sometimes like I'm not CF enough to talk about CF. This idea is somewhat luda (cris) as I have had CF for 33 years and have experienced many different facets of it and it affects my day-to-day life. But CF is a disease that affects everyone differently and because of that I have never fully got in my footing to feel comfortable sharing my journey Not wanting people on the outside to equate my experience as the norm. I also can I have a tendency to wanna go ostrich on my disease and pretend like not talking about it will mean that it affects me less which is also not true. So I'm cracking the gate a little bit and talking to you. I'm also chatting to you about books that I'm reading and what they are helping me examine in my own life right now. Off the top of my head I wish I worked in public health and also was a showgirl in the 1930s so my pursuits are varied. But right now wintering by Katherine May is giving me a lot of life and affirming that in this season it is OK to be out of sync with what summer Mimi would be doing. Lastly I just want to go over parenting and what a mindnumbing experience it can be to manage a 2 1/2-year-old feelings. I realize lately that most of what I am called to do is just manage my own chill in the face of absolutely unreasonable and illogical emotions that are being hurled at me in the form of cries. I hope this segment can Hope you feel like your crazy is actually normal. Thanks so much for tuning in. Please don't forget to subscribe and leave a review if you can!
