I am Wilko and I have a lot going through my mind and I need it to just come out sometimes. This will be a weekly podcast where I discuss my impressions of games and Tech that I am currently using. There will be game reviews, impressions, general life chat and whatever else crosses my mind. Also…
This week I take a moment to chat about my experience chasing mice around the house, cars around a track and trolls around the internet. More chat about my I-racing career and how that is travelling and more racing games including Grid that have my attention still. I discuss the grave mistake made by one of my favourite people in the world, Julian Gerighty, as a follow up to last weeks episode about being positive and how responding to negativity on the internet is the worse thing you can do. Finally, I spend the rest of the episode convincing you why you should book that trip to go to that event to spend time with those that are as passionate as you are about things you love. That's right, book that trip to PAX Aus next year and really have some fun.
This week I talk about my weekend away playing Smash Bros and Mario Kart and spending time in the beautiful Byron Bay. I also discuss my time with Ghost Recon Breakpoint while wanting to play a very special series from my past in the new Grid game from Codemasters. Also, having to miss out on titles like Heist, Destiny 2 and even John Wick Hex as I struggle to find enough time to game at all. Finally, I discuss the culture of being negative on the internet and why you should try and give being positive a go and how your opinion of a game may be different to others and that is just ok.
This week I am a bit short of breath as I have just finished taking a jog before the podcast and explain why it is so important that I actually did do it. More car racing this week as I talk about my exploits in I-Racing and how I have improved and my return to an old classic in Gran Turismo. Also, I chat about the beautiful little indie game called Heist and explain why you would be silly to skip this one and touch on why I am so looking forward to my upcoming break and why it is so important to keep old friends in your life as much as you can.
This week I talking in-depth about my new love for I-racing and what it is like to spend hours and hours on end to come last and how good that feels. Also, I chat about my new obsession with Trials Rising and how it is just a super hardcore platform game in the disguise of a motorbike game. Finally, I chat about the event season I have just gone through and what that meant to me and what it is like building a community, what I get out of it and what we want to do for you in the future. Thanks for listening and catch you all next week.
This week I talk to myself again but it is on a bit more of a down note. I am sorry for this being a heavier episode with no real gaming content but I just wanted to discuss the issue once again of what to do if someone in your life is going through a hard to and not OK. Mental health is a real problem and there are real people that can help you out. Please seek help before it is too late.
This week I chat about my personal struggle to review Gears 5 and what it is like to review a game that just doesn't click for you. I then discuss the contrasting view of my time with Ghost recon Breakpoint, a game not as polished but far more suited to my game style. I then ramble about running a community and a content team and what it means to go to an event like Ubisoft Experience and why I make the effort to travel across the country to do it. Thanks to all those that are listening and I will catch you next week after my time at Ubisoft experience
This week I get to discuss my trip to the Mebourne esports open where I watched all the Rainbow Six my eyes could stomach. Some amazing matches and I really enjoyed my time there and meeting so many new people. I talk about my time watching the Masters and also my hands on with Grid, Gears of War 5 and Borderlands 3. Finally I chat about what it is like to go to a big event like the Melbourne esports open and why you should do it next time.
This week I start talking the redacted game I was reviewing and don't stop for nearly half an hour. So this becomes my Control review. This is why the episode is delayed slightly. I also chat about my first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy note 10 plus and my schedule going forward with the Melbourne Esports open, Ubisoft Experience and Oz Comic Con. Once again I just ramble for 30 minutes, so be warned.
So I made it back again for another episode of Nothing but Ramblings, even though I almost didn't. It has been a tough week, well weekend. So I discuss why it has been so difficult and how my paranoia makes it hard to create content, especially a website. I touch on forza fridays and explain what it is like to review a game before release when your under a strict NDA. Finally I have a big section on the brutal platformer, Never Give up, and why it holds such a special place in my heart and is a game you should try to fall in hate with too. Thanks again for all those who visit the website and download our podcasts, you are the reason we all keep coming back each week. www.lockedonlads.com Twitter
