Six root causes fuel this cycle, including toxic thought loops, gaslighting, family dynamics, and the fear of silence. Personal stories reveal how rambling dilutes authority and leadership, even when the intention is good. In this week's conversation, we have more hot takes and some big wins to celebrate! We also consider whether we are really walking the walk or just talking the talk, and the importance of good coaching plus accountability. We wrap it all up with the beautiful prayer found within our September memory verses, Colossians 1:9-11 "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience" We hope that with each and every episode, you will find us talking about Jesus in our everyday lives while also learning, being challenged, and growing together while loving and laughing about what makes up our everyday lives. We are so thankful Jesus is right there with us in the middle of it all. Each episode is recorded on the campus of Union University! In this Coach's Corner episode, Ruth Atkinson from McKirdy Trained talks about how she plans long runs for runners who run the marathon in 4:30 or slower. This is a question we get all the time via DM's and email and we were excited to talk it out. Often times runners in this group assume that they need to run a 20 miler during marathon training to be prepared to race day. Ruth helps us de-bunk that myth and offers up a much better way to schedule training. You can follow Ruth at www.instagram.com/runwithruth. This episode features a rambling reflection that Mark recorded on part of an unexpected and unplanned four-day road trip from Calgary, Alberta to Waterloo, Ontario. When Mark was in Calgary, Alberta for the When Words Collide conference, Air Canada went on strike and all flights were canceled. Finding himself unable to get home (without having to pay for 4 nights in a hotel plus a flight on an alternate airline that would have cost him $1500), Mark decided to rent a car and drive back home nearly 3,500 kilometers (2174 miles) during the week of Monday August 18th through Friday August 22nd. Instead of being frustrated over the predicament, Mark chose to see this as an amazing opportunity to see parts of the country he hadn't yet visited. This episode is a rambling reflection from the road that he recorded on the morning of Wednesday October 20th on the highway between Dryden, ON and Thunder Bay, ON. Something strange is happening in the Music Elixir universe. Sarah shares a peculiar dream where she was Jin's girlfriend during wartime and Taehyung got a nosebleed after falling from a Segway—only for Taehyung to post about getting an actual nosebleed just days later. When the psychic portal opens between these Pisces hosts, the coincidences start flowing! We dive deep into a Rolling Stone controversial ranking of BTS solo songs, where RM's "seoul" claims the #1 spot. Surprisingly, many tracks we gushed about during our Jin concert road trip made the top 10, including Jin's "The Astronaut" at #9 and SUGA's "Snooze" featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto and WOOSUNG of The Rose at #8. But where was V's "Love Me Again"? Some rankings left us scratching our heads.Frustration boils over when discussing ARASHI's comeback strategy—why announce a return to the spotlight only to release content exclusively through their fan club that's closed to new members? Meanwhile, KAT-TUN plans a surprise one-night reunion concert despite having officially disbanded in March, and SUPER EIGHT secures their first-ever performance at the prestigious Nippon Budokan. The conversation shifts to KCON LA's organizational disaster: eliminated panels, no three-day passes, endless lines, and a convention floor dominated by beauty products with barely any artist merchandise. What happened to the KCON we loved? On a brighter note, MONSTA X officially announces their new album "The X" dropping September 1st, and we reminisce about our canceled 2020 concert tickets, hoping they'll return to Boston soon.As we approach our 250th episode milestone with listeners in 166 countries, we're proud to have defied the podcast odds. Let's Chat!!Boo, Bitches!Ever feel like you've been politely hinting to the Universe for years and it's still ghosting you? In this episode of River's Ramblings, we're diving into manifestation—what it is, why it works, and how to make it work for you without the fluff, guilt, or twenty-step rituals that make you need a nap halfway through. I'll spill the tea (and maybe a little Prosecco) on setting intentions, holding the vibe, and giving the Universe a gentle—okay, maybe not-so-gentle—nudge in your direction.
