C'est décidé, on se met à la grimpe, enfin, on se lève pas de nos fauteuils gamers, mais on joue à Cairn, et à MIO aussi, dans un esprit 100% Kaizen, on parle aussi de news bien entendu, de Fable et de Forza Horizon 6 et de plein d'autre trucs dont un quiz que j'ai du remonter 2 fois parce que je me suis planté en sauvegardant le projet et du coup c'était absolument horrible mais le quiz est bien hein.-----------------------------------------------------

Nach ca. 2,5 Jahren kommt der mittlerweile schon sechste Teil der Ride Serie zu uns. Diesmal spielt sich alles im Rahmen des Ride Fests ab. Wobei ich bei Fest an Forza Horizon oder Crew Motorfest denke. Leider ist der Name Fest hier nicht wirklich Programm, denn festliche Stimmung gibt es so gut wie nicht. Die Karriere ist nur ein Sammelsurium aus unterschiedlichen themenbezogenen Events. Die Rennen an sich machen schon Spaß. Ob Enduro oder Superbike, hier ist für Abwechslung gesorgt. Schade, dass man bei Rennen auf höchstens 11 andere Rider trifft. Auch, dass die Strecken alles nur Rundkurse sind, wo es doch früher schon einmal coole Punkt A zu Punkt B Rennen gab, ist ein wenig traurig. Wenigstens gibt es bei vielen Rundkursen auch die unterschiedlichen Versionen. Der Splitscreen ist noch nicht vorhanden, soll aber nachgeliefert werden. Ebenso wie der Race Creator. Die Onlinerennen funktionieren sehr gut, und es gab bei mir keine Lags oder Verbindungsabbrüche. Insgesamt wird ein gutes Spiel geliefert, welches eine Mischung aus GT und Forze sein will, es aber nicht ganz schafft. Wer bisher mit Ride Spaß hatte wird es auch diesmal haben, und Neueinsteiger werden auf Grund der vielen Möglichkeiten auch auf ihre Kosten kommen.

Xbox's marketing beat for 2025 was "The Year Of Obsidian Entertainment." Frankly, it made sense. No matter how you feel about the quality of these games, the fact that this team shipped Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, and Grounded 2 all within a calendar year (while many other teams within the first party fold continue to stumble around) was worthy of all the praise. Well, Obsidian has some thoughts on that marketing tagline. Indeed of it being a rallying cry, Obsidian's own Josh Sawyer defined as a "sign that something went wrong." Both Avowed and Outer Worlds 2 were in development for over six years and the result is that both these games failed to meet financial expectations. What lessons can they learn after shipping so many games? What can they do to cut development costs? What games should they make to meet Xbox's new profit margins? Part of the solution to the team at Obsidian is Avowed 2, but it's anyone's guess what lies beyond that. Well, we've seen our fair share of Xbox earnings reports. As expected, there's a lot of negative discourse around it, but this time there are some more troubling facts resting within these underlying numbers. As we've seen Xbox's hardware has been down for almost two years now. That continues in this quarter, so it is not much of a shocker by this point. That is if you only consider the console and not the recently released Xbox Ally. When it comes to gaming revenue as well as content and services, they're down. This is significant because this is all based on the holiday window where we usually see spending go up. In a window where they had the likes of Call Of Duty, which became the number one selling game of the month in December, they still ended up with losses. The likes of Outer Worlds 2, Keeper, or Ninja Gaiden 4 couldn't do enough, nor should they be fully expected to make up that sort of difference. The sum of it all is despite this being one of Xbox's busier holidays, they couldn't escape a loss and that comes shortly after a Game Pass price hike. Dice and Diversions, a tabletop/board gaming convention in Atlanta, has been postponed to February due to the ice storm. Forza Horizon 6 was shown off on the Xbox Developer Direct, but no, you will not be flying a Gundam. I got the PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter, and getting the controllers to work over Bluetooth was a multi-day struggle. A VR mod for Cyberpunk 2077 was removed due to CD Projekt Red not allowing the modder to charge money for it. Ubisoft cancels six games and delays seven others in order to concentrate on what they think players want. Then we talk to OLR about the Cyberpunk 2077 mod and about launching the second season of the long running podcast.

The slam of winter weather caused Sean and Marc to delay the podcast recording this week. Xbox had its Developer Direct 2026 last week and showed off some interesting things for both Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, with one getting the rumored May 19 release date and the other stuck on an Autumn release window. Did the broadcast do anything to get them more excited for these two flagship titles? And what about the other two games that were shown? The duo discusses their thoughts. Everything from Forza Horizon 6 and Kiln to Beast Of Reincarnation and Fable was shown off here! While the other games made their own noise, the Dukes (including Gene Park) were most captured by Fable. Judging by the noise online, so were many, many other people. For the first time in a long time, it feels like Xbox has a broadly appealing hit on their hands. Playground Games showed off everything from combat and choices to the economic and social simulation elements that always made Fable such a joy to play. With this comes the new introduction of "Living Population" where 1,000 NPCs all have their own hobbies, schedules, voice actors, and conversations. This is all designed to bring to life the replacement for Fable's famous morality system in the form of a reputation system that is similar to what is seen in Fable 3.
