Career Planning and Development is one of the courses offered by OUM Business School at Open University Malaysia (OUM). This is a core course for students undertaking the Bachelor of Human Resource Management programme.

In this topic, you will learn about productivity, maintenance in the final career stage and retirement programmes. This topic identifies various organisational and individual actions that can be taken, in both career stages.
Episode 8 discusses the application of career management model in respect of career exploration. The basic principles and various activities of career exploration will be identified and discussed. This topic introduces two major theories in self-exploration and various self-exploration programmes initiated by organisation and individuals.
Episode 9 examines the application of career model in respect of career goal setting, career strategy development and career appraisal. It discusses the meaning, components and implications of career objectives towards organisation and employees. It also identifies the types of career strategies and provides guidelines for career appraisal effectiveness.
