A little podcast about the people of Salmo and the things they get up to.
The January 22, 2019 meeting of the Council of the Village of Salmo.
The last meeting of 2018.
A while back during the chaos of election season I had a chance to sit down with a local legend. The pioneer of radio broadcasting in Salmo, Baptist Minister, and all around great guy, Gerald Hutchman. Sadly Salmo will soon be saying goodby to Gerald and his wife Donna as they relocate to Oregon to be closer to Donnas family. Luckily Gerald has agreed to keep us all up to date with all his new adventures in upcoming episodes of 'Keeping Up With Hutch' Hope you enjoy.
A short meeting. Councillors go over their portfolios, discuss the batting cage and bathrooms at Lions Park and some other matters. Enjoy.
Podcast Salmo expands its roster and has 3 new reporters join the team. We all attend the first council meeting of the Season and watch the new council and mayor get sworn into their new rolls. The new podcast crew introduces themselves and discuss their experience of attending their first council meeting. As always please enjoy. Feedback is always welcome.
Episode 10 stirred up quite a bit of engagement since its release. Jen came on the podcast to share her perspective on local politics and her experience on council. She made some important points about the village office and the need for civic engagement.
Susan Chew is running for school board trustee in SD8 to represent Salmo, Blewett and Taghum.
Raw audio from the all candidates forum on October, 3, 2018. My apologies, the audio quality is not great. I did my best to make it paletable but it's still hard to listen to. I hope to improve the quality of these recordings for future episodes. Thanks for listening.
I sit down with Jon and talk about life in Salmo. How he found his way here from Calgary, his battle with cancer and his experience on Village council.
I sit down with Steven Dimock to discuss life in Salmo. We are joined unexpectedly by his brother and sister in law.
