Listen as my guest, Felicia Carbajal and I discuss, Mindfulness, Grounding and Cannabis Advocacy. Felicia is a chicana, LGBTQ, cannabis patient, a patient advocate, cannabis educator, activist, and community organizer. While holding such positions as patient access director, collective operations manager, patient liaison/community engagement coordinator she realized the need for more accountability for the medicine with education being the key. Having worked with countless California patients, caregivers, dispensaries and cannabis industry investors to find the best methods to ensure patients get knowledgeable information, quality medicine, and that compassion remains in California Compassionate Use Act. In 2013 she was honored by being named one of The Advocate Magazine’s 40 under 40 LGBT leaders for her work in Cannabis. Felicia recently joined Dr. Brandie Cross at Smart Pharm Research Group as a partner.

Adam Vine co-founded Cage-Free Cannabis to repair harms of the War on Drugs and advocate for an equitable cannabis industry. This project emerges from a career spent at the intersection of social justice, media, and politics. Since launching Cage-Free Cannabis, Adam has provided cannabis policy recommendations to the City and the County of Los Angeles, as well as to a statewide cannabis policy roundtable. The Cage-Free project has so far supported re-entry programs for formerly incarcerated women, youth organizing in Central American immigrant communities, and expungement, job, and resource fairs. Adam also edits At The Intersection, a weekly newsletter about the collisions between culture, race, and politics. He has a B.A. in English from Amherst College and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and he lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
