Our story comes from Mark Shutes who was born in Flint, Michigan. Bro Shutes and his wife went over to the former Soviet Union in 1983. While they currently reside in the country of Latvia, which is right near Russia. Our story takes us to the beginning of their mission journeys to Belarus, otherwise known as White Russia. Mark Stumbo, who has worked as a missionary for the past 25 years in Russia. He and his family are originally from West Virginia and a part of the ALJC organization. The Stumbo’s spending 15 years in Russia have acquired their fair share of stories and this one called “The Negotiation” is one of their craziest!
